Thank you for your review. I am not sure if this Maven is worth $2K. For this kind of money, I expect no CA. Vortex Razor 27-60x85 UHD for $1,700 has no CA and is very sharp optically.
I am an Athlon fan and own two of their binos. For my money the Athlon Cronus G2 20-60x86 UHD, at less than $1K is a better deal. The customization aspect of the Maven is just not interesting to me. These are professional tools and basic color for instance is all you need.

I have Athlon Midas bino's and they're also pretty darn sharp too and less CA than my Leupold BX4s.

@@MoondogReviews I actually tested the Midas 12x50 G2 side-by-side with the BX4, Vortex Razor HD (not UHD), Leica (I forgot which model) and the Midas G2 was as good if not better than all of them. The only binos that looked better, were the Razor UHD and Swaro NL which cost considerably more.

Were you testing in a shop or comparing among other birders/shooters at a meetup?

@@MoondogReviews Yes I did my comparo at a Sportsman's Warehouse near my house. They have an excellent variety in stock from the Vortex Razor UHD all the way up to the Swaro NL. I also tried the Zeiss Conquest but forgot to mention it.
The units that beat the Midas G2 UHD were all priced at or above $1,700. The Midas G2 matched or beat anything priced below $1,700.
