      @@driftcrash2286 just a suggestion. I've never seen anyone do it. But if you're 100% wanting to keep the stock intake manifold for tq/response reasons. I would assume extrude honing the intake would increase flow and offer a slight benefit/improvement in power uptop while retaining it's overall characteristics.

    Great vid and a beautiful engine. I have a 400hp S13 in my mainly circuit sprinting 700kg Lotus 7 style car. I've rebuilt the engine three times in 12 years but only once due to a catastrophic failure. I am very envious of your GT25 but my old Disco Potato refuses to die! A couple of comments. I have found no benefit in iridium plugs. A copper plug gapped at 0.7 works fine at any boost level. I had iridiums but they were unreliable and did not last. Also I use OEM coil packs - I replaced them as a maintenance move, but the original 25 year old ones were still working fine. And yes the SR is a great engine. In my open car in third gear at full boost the sound is awesome and I feel like the god of horsepower.

      The trouble with the DE is that you spend a lot of money for not a great deal of gain. Basics like air filter, exhaust and a proper tune will go a reasonably long way. But then I would focus on running a good clutch kit and short final drive. Something like 4.9 on a 5 speed box. After that? Cut out as much weight as possible and spend your money on tyres and dampers ✌️✌️

    • @driftcrash2286
      @driftcrash2286  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Nistune ECU is a great lower budget option. I dont think its worth spending more for a DE. I wouldn’t bother with tuning more, other than a Nismo clutch and flywheel. Then get that diff final drive changed, that will make a huge difference, especially if you fit a 1.5 or 2 way.

      @@driftcrash2286 I’m debating between g25-660 and g30-770 myself for my sr build. My engine builder and tuner are saying the g25 is too small for the big drift track. So much research says the g25 is the best but then you find many cases where it just doesn’t make the power goals or loses too much power up top. I’ve been told to go with the g30 with .83 a/r. I gota keep it at 500 wheel hp though otherwise I need to upgrade to much else like my clutch/etc. Do you think g30-770 is the way to go for drifting for 500 wheel hp? Thanks in advance!!!

    What caused his 2 engine failures?

    • @driftcrash2286
      @driftcrash2286  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So my first engine blew up because of an air lock which resulted in 140*c + water temps. Although I managed to drive home from the event. The second, I still haven’t looked into fully, but it seems like a potential injector failure. I’ve also blown up a 1JZ, but that was my own fault. I was trying to keep up with MCR and Burst on the street about 12 years ago, turned the boost from 1.2 to 1.6 bar. I kept up for a lap 🤣
