After watching that little cinematic Blizzard threw at us it really made me realize how much Anduin reminds me of Young Arthas, not just looks. If Anduin goes the route I believe they're taking him, I am certain he will be what Arthas could have. On that note, I'm so happy they're actually writing Anduin's character decently.
Anduin a warrior? How? When? Also the Paladin thing was just like, idk, he is a priest and he takes his dad's sword and it's like light infused now and poof! Paladin Anduin! Which sucks, cause I play him as priest in hearthstone.
Not really Paladin Anduin since his Dad's sword is a warrior weapon. He probably turns from Retribution Pally to Fury Warrior whenever the sword turns into two or stays in one. And the mistweaver and priest thing is probably the same.
Seeing how Genn talks to and about Anduin, I have to remind myself that he lost his own son a few years back. He probably feels a measure of responsibility for Anduin, seeing as he seemed to be Varians closest advisor.
Benjamin Bjärnhag Genn lost his son, Anduin lost his father. Both lost family in times of war. Genn hid his grief and stayed strong. He tried to remain an icon of hope to his people. Anduin was overcome by grief and became weak. He was a disappointment to his people. Genn wants Anduin to be more like him but does not realize that Anduin deals with grief diffrently. By seeing the damage caused by the seeing what his people expect of him, the destruction caused by the legion, and the bravery of the soldiers, Anduin grows up and sees the world for what it is. Genn realizes this when Anduin talks to his father and they bond. I think Genn will help Anduin learn how to lead and Anduin will help Genn learn to look for peace. They will learn from each other and grow as people.
Genn: "Anduin is untested, he hasn't witnessed war against someone like the Legion, he doesn't understand the sacrifices that are needed" * Anduin travels to The Broken Shore to understand better what his peoples are facing * Genn: "You don't need to see this, how could you just leave?!"
Anduin has always been badass imo. Yeah, he's not always been some sword wielding warrior, but he's always been great in other ways. Pandaria showcased this perfectly, I think.
I'm neither Horde or Alliance, and I honestly only care about my Forsaken, but damn, did Varian go out like a badass. When my daggers go up Sargeras's ass, one of them will be for him.
Considering the fact that he was the Champion of the Wild God Goldrinn/Lo'Gosh, Wolf's Rest would be appropriate. But the Lion is the "King of the animal kingdom" and the sigil of Stormwind, so Lion's Rest is also OK. Plus that would make for some confusion with the Worgen and the Wolf King Genn Greymane.

Holy crap! I can't believe I actualy cried watching that cinematic... with all that "I'm not worthy" and "I'm not like my father" stuff, combined with the Anduin & Varian scene. I feel so weak right now!
I have always loved the new expansions, but I have been playing since closed beta, and I have so much heart in Azeroth. The Anduin walk, Ysera, and Illidan with Xera, will forever remain in my memories as stand outs in the story. Prophet Velen's story was also terrific. Thank you for spending so much time making these videos, for those of us who have already leveled 12 characters, working on 16, and have watched these scenes over and over, and dreaded the last time in game.
I'l be honest, this story is why I actually started to play legion. The only story of WoW that I really knew until I played again was the Warcraft 3 stuff, and that's only the Arthas stuff. That cutscene reminded me of why I play this game, it was so good.

These were great. I've always liked Anduin over Varian anyways. Man i know people hate Sylv here on your channel but I love her, she is lawful evil but is so tormented and dark. The dark mirror was a much needed story for the two of them and it's real interesting to see their relationship, and give the horde "something" after the great side story with Anduin we cant even experience

With the Nathanos story, I like how Sylvanas has told a very select few people of what she saw upon her true death after the Lich King fall. The horror of the Void Hell, and her desire to never return there, and how that knowledge chills Nathanos to his core, and brings a acknowledgement that common knowledge of this revelation would bring anarchy to the Forsaken and allies along with enemies alike
the cutscene just made me hop from sad to grinning at an instant. the moment Anduin sees his fathers reflection in the sword reminded me of the Lion King and i just imagined Varian comming in as a cloud :P
I think Sylvanas wants more Valkyr to be able to empower her greatest troops like she did Nathanos, I honestly liked the story, it gave us insight into how close they were in life, and how even in death they can't be kept apart. But also I like how it explains why he looks so much more human like than he did in the past.
I've spend too much time with my Horde toons that I've hardly touched my Alliance, but this quest line is making me want to go back and get that final level on my hunter so that I can experience all this for myself.
I remember the comic reading "He felt regret." But I do not know whether or not the comic emptied that he felt regret for his cousin's death. It is however the most likely scenario to occur because I can't think of another explanation. I'm just pointing out that what he felt regret towards was indirect in the comic.
Oh it's a forsaken thing: He probably felt regret for everything he has done and become. For a second. Then, all this regret turned into moar h8 4 teh living XD
Varian, there are 3 justifications for no guards being on the Tomb. First, there is a quest when the illidari are overrun, and we have to push them back inside the Tomb. ( That group World quest that appears almost everyday ) Secound, Khadgar and Velen invaded the Tomb, but were overrun, the demos who overrun them went to the Cathedral, and lost to Maiev and Illidan. So there may not be enough demons at the moment of the cinematic to defend its entrance. Lastely, but maybe the best justification. Why would Kil'Jaedon send demons to that gate, if anyone that enters is as good as dead. Entering the frst few meters or not is the same. Furthermore, on the book "Beyond the Dark Portal" there were no guards at the gate either ( I know the Legion wasn't invading at that moment, but it was made clear that, to achiev anything, they had to kill the guards, that were far inside )
There are so many stories, and I do mean, so many stories/quests that Blizzard could make before the opening of the tomb. Perhaps there could be one where Illidan confronts Tyrande for the last time, perhaps to finally let her go seeing it as one final sacrifice so that the Legion won't be able to perhaps use Tyrande against Illidan like they did with Velen's son. Or maybe a small story line regarding Thrall, about how he realized that his recent short comings were all due to him foolishly believing he could bare the world's problems on his shoulders to the point of believing he was above everything including honor or maybe ends up looking through the memories of Garrosh's spirit to see just how unstable the horde was and possibly still is, because remember, Thrall didn't see the dishonerable bombing of an Elven settlement, nor did he see Sylvannas' method to create more undead courtesy of the Valkyr not to mention Sylvannas going against orders to not use the plague that Garrosh forbade the use of. Heck there could even be one about Bovar the Lich King where we could see some actual conflict between him and his delusion of himself being a monster just because he took the helmet and mantle of the Lich King. (I'm just throwing out ideas here, but it just goes to show the limitless potential of what they can tell which really has me excited for what is to come.)
Also, with NOTHING around. Yeah, just chilling before fucking tomb of evil. What could go wrong?! You expected demons here? Hah....hah.....damm. Only thing that ruined the cinematic...
I really like the way they're building up Anduin in Legion. He is strong with the Light and has a good heart, but he needs more training if he is going to lead the Army of the Light one day. Velen, Greymane and Alliance heroes will help him on that path. This quest is a good start. As for the Nathanos short story: When I first saw his new model, I was surprised how he looked more like a human death knight than a forsaken. At first I thought Blizzard just pulled another Khadgar (how he looks younger than during Burning Crusade), but this short story actually gave the answer. It seems the Val'kyr have the ability to reshape the undead. This explains how the death knights look very similar to how they looked when they were alive, while the forsaken look like any undead.
MANduin = uncorrupted Arthas, and i am okay with that. The leader of Horde and Alliance haven't talk to each other yet, for some reason. And the other part of Shalamayne isn't recovered yet.
This brings me so much emotion because my father passed away as well and this made me feel like me and Anduin had something in common that we both lost a person that deeply loved us, and him saying I can't be the father you were or leader. also grey mane saying your father taught us to never let fear prevail over you regardless of the things you have done and know that they will always love you and are waiting to be with you again in Heaven or- the Light. I Understand his feelings now😇😂
I Loved the story of Dark Mirror, I think that it would have lost something in the translation to cinematic, but if they had put the voice overs in. had her voice actress read the lines and his and stuff, I think it would have been amazing. Not, that it wasn't. because, it absolutely was, but it would only have improved it. as a Fan girl, I felt even more like Nathanos than anything. it was great to see, the depth of her loyalty even in death to someone. I think that everyone imagines she has absolutely no loyalty in her, but if that was true, why bother? Like the Dark Ranger said, she wasted valuable resources on someone she could have just replaced, with any player who has ever defended her in the undercity like it was their job. 100 thousand Blood elves willing to be her champion men and women alike. I think it shows the lengths she would go to, for those she cares about. I also see the lengths she will go to, to make sure her loyalty is not misplaced. Nathanos Chose to sacrifice his cousin to serve the Dark Lady. She still is probably the best tactical mind in the game. I think she wants the Val'kyr like she says, for the forsaken, to raise more of them, to build her wall against death. to give herself more chances at survival. I have a feeling Helya wanted Sylvanas to help her stick her thumb in Odyn's eye. I would like to believe she wanted to Raise Varian and maybe Vol'jin. it would be a shock to pretty much everyone if she brought them back, plus with what we know about Nathanos, Anduin could be used to bring back his father, and Vol'jin has a son. so, now we know it works. I wonder if this was before the broken shore? not that the Alliance or Varrian would be happy, but I think to spite it all, she is mostly well intentioned all be it misguided. I also think people underestimate the Depth and breadth of her Loyalty and maybe this should be an eye opener. thanks For the Vid, I always love your Lore vids.
I didn't think it was possible for me to hate Sylvanas more than I already did. I take solace in the knowledge that it's only a matter of time before she becomes a raid boss and we get to send her back to Hell.
The horde couldn't hold the legion off on the ridge so they had to leave to fight another day, if they didn't the horde would've been wiped out and so would the alliance
It seems to me that Anduin is absolutely going to become a paladin of some sort. I recall a part in the War Crimes novel where Garrosh likens Anduin to Arthas, the difference is Anduin has seen what happens when you give in to a lust for revenge.
I LOVED the anduin cinematic you can hear the pain and how lost he is anytime he talks. I wish the Horde got something this patch at least, kinda seems like the horde is getting shafted this whole expansion lore wise but what can you do.

I really liked the short story, but then again I like Sylvanas; I've heard that some people have started to hate Sylvanas more if they had hated her already. If she made the bargain with Helya because of that, then it would make a lot of sense and it wouldn't have been put on the backburner that I thought was going to happen. On Anduin though, I really like the way they're going with the story, but I do feel that it was more than what the Horde got. Besides, Voljin's tusk was an agility trinket, so dunno how they'll do a story with that. I love your videos though!
For the Nathanos - Sylvanas story. He says that he is able to feel regret, something that he hasn't been able to do since he was was still alive. So this ritual, just how close to "mortal/alive" has it made Nathanos? If it's strong enough to return feelings that were previously lost to death, could it then have returned other things that the forsaken have lost in death? Like the ability to reproduce? Can Nathanos now become a father, if he were to mate with a female forsake, who had undergone the same ritual? Sadly there is none at the moment, at least that we know of. Sylvanas can be a special case, but that's something only the future can answer. But if this hypothesis were to hold up, then that could explain a lot about the deal Sylvanas made with Helya, currently she's limited on the number of val'kyrs, but if she had an unlimited source. Such as Odyn's val'kyrs, who can be made, as seen with Hyrjia, in the Halls of Valor dungeon. Then Sylvanas could offer this ritual for every forsaken, give them back the ability to reproduc and thus removing their fate of eventually going extinct.

the house of Wrynn has a lion motif and his association with the wolf was from the horde.
The wolf is some druid aspect thing that was protecting Varian or something...also the horde thing, orcs like wolves.

To be honest as a Horde player I've never seen Greymane not screaming that Sylvanas needs to die before, this is a welcome change of perspective.

With the Nathanos story, I like how Sylvanas has told a very select few people of what she saw upon her true death after the Lich King fall. The horror of the Void Hell, and her desire to never return there, and how that knowledge chills Nathanos to his core, and brings a acknowledgement that common knowledge of this revelation would bring anarchy to the Forsaken and allies along with enemies alike
holy frik that cinematic was AWESOME
the cutscene just made me hop from sad to grinning at an instant. the moment Anduin sees his fathers reflection in the sword reminded me of the Lion King and i just imagined Varian comming in as a cloud :P
I think Sylvanas wants more Valkyr to be able to empower her greatest troops like she did Nathanos, I honestly liked the story, it gave us insight into how close they were in life, and how even in death they can't be kept apart. But also I like how it explains why he looks so much more human like than he did in the past.
Anduin looks more like Arthas than King Varian

I've spend too much time with my Horde toons that I've hardly touched my Alliance, but this quest line is making me want to go back and get that final level on my hunter so that I can experience all this for myself.
I remember the comic reading "He felt regret." But I do not know whether or not the comic emptied that he felt regret for his cousin's death. It is however the most likely scenario to occur because I can't think of another explanation. I'm just pointing out that what he felt regret towards was indirect in the comic.
He was looking at his cousin's armour when he felt it. That strongly implies that it was regret for what has happened to his cousin.
Oh it's a forsaken thing: He probably felt regret for everything he has done and become. For a second. Then, all this regret turned into moar h8 4 teh living XD
Varian, there are 3 justifications for no guards being on the Tomb.
First, there is a quest when the illidari are overrun, and we have to push them back inside the Tomb. ( That group World quest that appears almost everyday )
Secound, Khadgar and Velen invaded the Tomb, but were overrun, the demos who overrun them went to the Cathedral, and lost to Maiev and Illidan. So there may not be enough demons at the moment of the cinematic to defend its entrance.
Lastely, but maybe the best justification. Why would Kil'Jaedon send demons to that gate, if anyone that enters is as good as dead. Entering the frst few meters or not is the same. Furthermore, on the book "Beyond the Dark Portal" there were no guards at the gate either ( I know the Legion wasn't invading at that moment, but it was made clear that, to achiev anything, they had to kill the guards, that were far inside )
There are so many stories, and I do mean, so many stories/quests that Blizzard could make before the opening of the tomb.
Perhaps there could be one where Illidan confronts Tyrande for the last time, perhaps to finally let her go seeing it as one final sacrifice so that the Legion won't be able to perhaps use Tyrande against Illidan like they did with Velen's son.
Or maybe a small story line regarding Thrall, about how he realized that his recent short comings were all due to him foolishly believing he could bare the world's problems on his shoulders to the point of believing he was above everything including honor or maybe ends up looking through the memories of Garrosh's spirit to see just how unstable the horde was and possibly still is, because remember, Thrall didn't see the dishonerable bombing of an Elven settlement, nor did he see Sylvannas' method to create more undead courtesy of the Valkyr not to mention Sylvannas going against orders to not use the plague that Garrosh forbade the use of.
Heck there could even be one about Bovar the Lich King where we could see some actual conflict between him and his delusion of himself being a monster just because he took the helmet and mantle of the Lich King.
(I'm just throwing out ideas here, but it just goes to show the limitless potential of what they can tell which really has me excited for what is to come.)
I was also very confused as to why greymane and velen were just chilling outside a portal the burning legion uses the bring in troops

I really like the way they're building up Anduin in Legion. He is strong with the Light and has a good heart, but he needs more training if he is going to lead the Army of the Light one day. Velen, Greymane and Alliance heroes will help him on that path. This quest is a good start.
As for the Nathanos short story: When I first saw his new model, I was surprised how he looked more like a human death knight than a forsaken. At first I thought Blizzard just pulled another Khadgar (how he looks younger than during Burning Crusade), but this short story actually gave the answer. It seems the Val'kyr have the ability to reshape the undead. This explains how the death knights look very similar to how they looked when they were alive, while the forsaken look like any undead.
MANduin = uncorrupted Arthas, and i am okay with that. The leader of Horde and Alliance haven't talk to each other yet, for some reason. And the other part of Shalamayne isn't recovered yet.
This brings me so much emotion because my father passed away as well and this made me feel like me and Anduin had something in common that we both lost a person that deeply loved us, and him saying I can't be the father you were or leader. also grey mane saying your father taught us to never let fear prevail over you regardless of the things you have done and know that they will always love you and are waiting to be with you again in Heaven or- the Light. I Understand his feelings now😇😂
I Loved the story of Dark Mirror, I think that it would have lost something in the translation to cinematic, but if they had put the voice overs in. had her voice actress read the lines and his and stuff, I think it would have been amazing. Not, that it wasn't. because, it absolutely was, but it would only have improved it. as a Fan girl, I felt even more like Nathanos than anything. it was great to see, the depth of her loyalty even in death to someone. I think that everyone imagines she has absolutely no loyalty in her, but if that was true, why bother? Like the Dark Ranger said, she wasted valuable resources on someone she could have just replaced, with any player who has ever defended her in the undercity like it was their job. 100 thousand Blood elves willing to be her champion men and women alike. I think it shows the lengths she would go to, for those she cares about. I also see the lengths she will go to, to make sure her loyalty is not misplaced. Nathanos Chose to sacrifice his cousin to serve the Dark Lady. She still is probably the best tactical mind in the game. I think she wants the Val'kyr like she says, for the forsaken, to raise more of them, to build her wall against death. to give herself more chances at survival. I have a feeling Helya wanted Sylvanas to help her stick her thumb in Odyn's eye. I would like to believe she wanted to Raise Varian and maybe Vol'jin. it would be a shock to pretty much everyone if she brought them back, plus with what we know about Nathanos, Anduin could be used to bring back his father, and Vol'jin has a son. so, now we know it works. I wonder if this was before the broken shore? not that the Alliance or Varrian would be happy, but I think to spite it all, she is mostly well intentioned all be it misguided. I also think people underestimate the Depth and breadth of her Loyalty and maybe this should be an eye opener. thanks For the Vid, I always love your Lore vids.
I play Horde and have an alt in the Alliance. Anduin's lore is basically the only thing keeping my little human frost mage active.

The horde couldn't hold the legion off on the ridge so they had to leave to fight another day, if they didn't the horde would've been wiped out and so would the alliance
Now would make the most sense to have Baine as the horde chieftain. Him and Anduin are very similar and it would make so much sense lorewise.

Whenever I see Varian's sacrifice and the Light being by his side after his death, there is but one thing I have in mind: God bless you, Varian.
It seems to me that Anduin is absolutely going to become a paladin of some sort. I recall a part in the War Crimes novel where Garrosh likens Anduin to Arthas, the difference is Anduin has seen what happens when you give in to a lust for revenge.
I LOVED the anduin cinematic you can hear the pain and how lost he is anytime he talks. I wish the Horde got something this patch at least, kinda seems like the horde is getting shafted this whole expansion lore wise but what can you do.

I really liked the short story, but then again I like Sylvanas; I've heard that some people have started to hate Sylvanas more if they had hated her already. If she made the bargain with Helya because of that, then it would make a lot of sense and it wouldn't have been put on the backburner that I thought was going to happen. On Anduin though, I really like the way they're going with the story, but I do feel that it was more than what the Horde got. Besides, Voljin's tusk was an agility trinket, so dunno how they'll do a story with that. I love your videos though!
For the Nathanos - Sylvanas story. He says that he is able to feel regret, something that he hasn't been able to do since he was was still alive. So this ritual, just how close to "mortal/alive" has it made Nathanos?
If it's strong enough to return feelings that were previously lost to death, could it then have returned other things that the forsaken have lost in death? Like the ability to reproduce? Can Nathanos now become a father, if he were to mate with a female forsake, who had undergone the same ritual?
Sadly there is none at the moment, at least that we know of. Sylvanas can be a special case, but that's something only the future can answer.
But if this hypothesis were to hold up, then that could explain a lot about the deal Sylvanas made with Helya, currently she's limited on the number of val'kyrs, but if she had an unlimited source. Such as Odyn's val'kyrs, who can be made, as seen with Hyrjia, in the Halls of Valor dungeon.
Then Sylvanas could offer this ritual for every forsaken, give them back the ability to reproduc and thus removing their fate of eventually going extinct.
