  • WeCreat has jumped into the laser market with a laser aimed at making it easier and safer to get started. I take a look at it's features and give a rundown of how to get started with this laser. We'll even look at how to use Lightburn to set up files for the WeCreat Vision.

    Excellent review and illustration of how to actually use it before making a choice on a laser.
    If I may suggest, please put a cushion under your keyboard. Sounds like a drum just a bit as you work/type.

      Sorry about the noise. I'm shuffling things in my shop and will have the mic mounted on a different surface so it does not pick up the noise as much.

    Just got mine and 2 little things. Can’t find settling for things like ceramic tile, cork, stretched canvas and other material. Be nice to have a users group to help new users. It is so easy to use on wood. Like it.

      There are a couple Facebook groups for users to share ideas, settings and ask questions, but I have not seen one outside there. Using the Material Array tool will help with finding the right settings for new materials, but you'll have to make an educated guess about the range to test. Looking at other 20w diode laser settings for the same material should get you in the ballpark.

    Great laser, for a first iteration. Some improvements like a more easily accessed and removed bottom plate and at least the option to use 3rd party software directly or more flexibility in the custom software. Love the vid. Right now I'm stuck between choosing this or the lasermatic mk2.

      Yes, I do hope they continue to develop the software as well as the Lightburn compatibility. It's got some decent power and the camera works well. I just want easier workflow on design and job optimization.

      You can pull the trash tray to access the bottom, hope it helps.

    It´s a very interesting laser. We will see when it will be sent to europe.

    I actually backed this product but WeCreat told me they can’t provide one to me in the Uk. It’s a massive shame as it’s the perfect size and spec for what I need.

      That's too bad. I wish importing and exporting to various places was not such a hassle.

    Could you not coat the transparent acrylic in some kind of paint, then use the laser and when it’s finished wash the paint off.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can do that to engrave the clear or transparent acrylic but that won't allow you to cut through it.

    Would you go with the 40W if you could? Are there any downsides to that which you can think of? Thanks for the very informative video!

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you do a lot of cutting or only do vector style engraving, then absolutely I'd go for the higher wattage. However if you do detailed small cuts, or photo engraving a lot, you might want to stick with the 20w as it will have tighter lines and higher detail due to the smaller spot size.

      @@Vintauri Much appreciated for the advice. And thank you for putting out these videos. Very useful information!

    Great info. I'm interested in this, so I've been watching a bunch of videos. In another video, they said it did have bi-directional engraving capability. Hmmm?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They currently have it disabled in the WeCreat MakeIt software. I was able to enable it when using Lightburn to create the Gcode, but at higher speeds it became unstable and the engraving started to skew. This is a decent starter laser, but it needs some additional software and firmware updates for it to really compete with other Diode lasers out there.

    Super quality camera and audio , what is your setup? Great video!!

      Thanks! I've tried to get quality audio and video. I'm using a Sony ZV-1 as the primary camera amzn.to/3vsa0L7 along with an iPhone 12 for some of the laser shots. For audio I use a set of Boya wireless mics. amzn.to/3VqQGsw

    Will an Xtool rotary work in this? I know it wouldn't be as locked down on coordinates and would need calibration, but I already own one.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It might if you could run the Vision natively from Lightburn but I'm afraid the WeCreat software will be looking for the rotary to be in the location of the one they provide. Perhaps there is a way to hack this but I have not tried.

    Do you have the glowforge option to use the camera to scan the image and then cut it out? I'm looking at this for a Makerspace.

    Hi Steve, I also have the WeCreat and really enjoying it, yes the software is basic, but easy to use. The only question I have is, do you have or have you seen any videos on how to clean it? Been running mine for about a month now and have only used a vac to clean it out and some light air dusting, but I have not been able to clean the laser due to it is not able to be removed such as the xtool d1 pro.
    Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From what I understand, you need to pull the slats out and the bottom tray, then tip the laser on it's side to access the end of the laser module to clean it. There are a number of things on this laser that are not the easiest to get at so I'll be curious as to the long term maintenance issues that come up.

    Disappointed my order was canceled because they don’t deliver to Hawaii

      That's really disappointing that they give you no option to ship there. I'm sure it's not cheap as it's a large and heavy box.
