@@pooperdooper3576 Samus can walljump MegaMan X style, aka multiple times on a single wall. while Mario obviously can jump wall, he has to do it on at least two opposite walls, even when it was at its most lenient in Sunshine

@@pooperdooper3576 I don’t remember in super Metroid, but in fusion and zero mission you can walk jump from the start without upgrades, the window for getting it right is just very short

9:17 If you look veeeeeery closely at the orange part of Battlefield's ledge in-between the two purple bars, you can see it's at a slant just like the actual collision of the stage. It's possible that they based the collision on the orange part of the stage, added the purple bars later on for aesthetic purposes, and never changed the original collision.
I love how Pichu ties for the best (natural) stat of a ridiculously niche mechanic. It's funny in a way that's difficult to describe in words.

Learning to recover on Battlefield as a new player is rough. When I first picked up Melee with Marth, I hated that stage. Even once I learned the correct spacing, there was still the problem of doing aerials from ledge and keeping my spacing correct. I've probably died hundreds of times to hitting my head on the underside of that stage. It's not a problem for me anymore, but I still wouldn't be opposed to us allowing custom stages that actually function properly in tournament.

Wow, I never knew the actual reason for getting Battlefielded until now. I knew it was from being “too close” to the ledge but never heard about the backwards ledge grab box lockout. Great video, always love to see more content from you!

Melee Creators be like oh wow AsumSaus gets so many views, how do I get some of that audience??
When AsumSaus is legit putting in masterful edits, well researched and well written scripts, and putting in little funny tidbits making the rewatchability of the videos go way up. When most melee content is just stream highlights, AsumSaus is the type of person melee needs to show the world how sick of a game it is.

Its also partially due to his great luck with the algorithm, I also wish other Melee channels could do as well but some would rather just play Ultimate sometimes to ride that wave instead of praying Melee does well against the odds
@@gatorssbm I don't think it's luck my guy, yes been putting out quality for years now. People appreciate and come back to someone whose skilled and puts in effort toward their craft. 90% of melee content is not that.
@@lucalyons-sosa9843 No I dont mean it like that, I know it isnt purely luck he def has really good quality but its really hard for most Melee channels to get off the ground. Thankfully this one was and still probably is blessed with the algorithm and rightfully so.

And how I feel about TH-cam in general.. unless any random video that you post is good enough for someone to see it, get an understanding for the channel, and have the ability to watch more similarly well produced content, that's the recipe for a good channel nowadays.

Very interesting, this vid made me actually take a close look at battlefield due to reading that trophy description and yeah it is kinda a sinister looking stage now that I look at it, spikes spines and ribcages certainly give off a sinister vibe.
also a funny little thing that has been happening as of late is that some people in a discord I'm in have started thanking me whenever you upload a video as a joke cause they keep claiming I sound almost exactly like you in voice chat.

The other jank I'd have liked to see explained would be why some characters bonk when going for a ledge dash, but letting go of the edge with back vs. down on the control stick.
