NO... HELL NO...Bioware made a deal back in 2012 that they are NOT part of the Disney-Canon and remain the last remaining part of the REAL-Canon and the EU. They can include what they want from Disney, but Disney cant force them. If you would allow Disney to make a series out of this, they will 300000% ruin it. So please, dont touch it.
As the Sith Code states "Through Victory, My Chains are broken." Malgus killed his master so he would no longer be bound by his chains. Now he is the master.
@@Foxtail190 Codes, creeds, and other similar forms of texts are usually judged not just by meaning, put phrasing. I know that "setting something/someone free" and "freeing something/someone" are basically the same in terms of meaning. So is "The force shall deliver me from oppression, persecution and confinement", but it doesnt quuiiiiite have the same nice ring to it, does it?
Yeah its quite a shock when you find that they wanted the in-game graphics to look that good. Just the PCs most people had at the time probably wouldn't have been able to handle it.
I can't remember the full lore behind lightsaber construction but essentially they need a special crystal called a kyber crystal to make it function. The colour of the crystal then also affects the colour of the lightsaber. Damaged crystals also affect the "blade" itself, making it unstable. Kyber crystals are integral parts of building a lightsaber.
@@jeambeam3173 The current canon is based on Legends when it comes to unstable crystals, bleeding crystals, purifying crystals, etc., but they didn't take in the part about the Jedi personality dictating color. If you're gonna be an asshole, at least know what you're talking about.
The story of the mmo is the best you will see in star wars, the gameplay of the game and the trailer are drastically different if you never played an mmo before
@@ThatSpecificIndividual tbh goes both way, playing a jedi and making dark choices. I just personally find it boring to just be the average jedi or sith
Ehhhhhh... It depends on what class you're playing. Not all the class stories are created equal, and some of them make zero sense once the class stories finish and you step into expansion stories (how does a smuggler or a mando stand up against fuck mothering Vitiate?). Sith Inquisitor and Sith Warrior are by far the best class stories. Sith Inquisitor, in particular, is significantly better than the other classes in terms of how it integrates into the later expansions as well.
@@ASNS117Zero my main is a sith warrior, loved the story. I then created a trooper and realized "yea how the fuck am I going to beat Arcann and the crazy bitch 😭"
I am a longtime player of the game. The game is fully voice cast, including your player character. The game is free to play (base game through the first two expansions, Rise of the Hutt Cartel and The Shadow of Revan), but if you subscribe for just one month the rest of the expansions to the date of your subscription are available, even if you no longer subscribe. The subscription allows access to endgame content like Operations (8 and 16 player content) and PvP. Personally, I love the game and it has a pretty hardcore base of players. Each class in the base game has its own storyline, with some overlap of NPCs. The first three cinematics introduced the base game and showed off most of the playable classes. Many of the characters either are major NPCs in the game or Companions to use in adventures. 1) Return: (38 years before the start of the game) Republic classes & characters: Master Kao Cen Darach (Jedi Knight class) - Zabrak male; Satele Shan (Jedi Consular class) - human female; Niko Okarr (Smuggler class) - human male; Jace Malcolm (Republic Trooper class) - human male. Satele is Grandmaster of the Jedi Order in the Game, Niko becomes a companion to you, and Jace eventually becomes Supreme Commander of Republic Forces. Imperial classes & characters: Darth Vindican (Sith Inquisitor) - Pure Blood Sith; Malgus (Sith Warrior) - human male. In the game, Malgus is a boogeyman who keeps turning up, even when you think you killed him. 2) Hope: (24 years before the start of the game) Jace Malcolm, Satele Shan, and Malgus (now Darth Malgus) return on Alderaan...the planet destroyed in Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope by the Death Star. 3) Deceived: (14 years before the start of the game) Darth Malgus returns for the Sacking of Coruscant and the destruction of the Jedi Temple. He fights Jedi Master Ven Zallow (Jedi Knight class). We are introduced to one more class, we also saw briefly in Hope, the Bounty Hunter class in the form of Mandalorian Shae Vizla, the redhead human woman on the upper level of the temple. The only class left out of all these trailers is the Imperial Agent class. Shae Vizla starts as an NPC but becomes a companion in your adventures. Soon the Treaty of Coruscant happens, and a 10-year Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire continues, ending during the game storylines of the base game, and war commences again. Throughout the start of the game and the first expansions 17 years pass. Meanwhile...the back story for the two largest expansions in SWTOR, is the next two cinematics: 4) Sacrifice: (Introducing the Eternal Empire of Zakuul for the expansionof Knights of the Fallen Empire (KotFE)) Arcann (in white) and Thexan (in black) are twin sons of Emperor Valkorian, and they lead the fight against both the Republic and the Empire with the Eternal Fleet, almost breaking them. Arcann is an NPC, withthea possibility of becoming a companion, depending on how you play the expansion, 5) Betrayed: (expanding the EternaEmpirere storyline for the expansion Knights of the Eternal Throne (KOTET)) Senya Terall tries to rescue her daughter, Vaylin from her father, Emperor Valkorian's grasp...Senya is also the mother of Arcann and Thexan. Senya is a companion in the expansion KotF, and might stay one in KOTET. Vaylin is an NPC. 6) Disorder (Recent Legacy of the Sith expansion in 2022) This is the backstory for Sa'har Kateen, a Jedi Padawan Twi'lek, her master Denholm Orr, and Sa'har's brother, Ri'ken...who has become a Twi'lek Mandalorian in the game. Plus, the eternal boogeyman of SWTOR returns AGAIN...Darth Malgus. Sa'har and Ri'ken are both NPCs in the expansion.
Thank you for taking the time to share this, mate. I've watched the trailers a long time ago when they got out, and I love the backstory you gave for it.
@@robpettigrew3308 Nope, the blade colors don’t really matter as you can get a green saber with the Jedi knight I believe (if you side with Bengal). Kao Cen Darach uses force powers that only the Jedi Knight is able to use (saber throw and the ground smash, forgot what it’s called in game), and before one of the updates changed it, Knights only used single-blades and Consulars had a choice to use double-blades.
Also this era of Star Wars about 3-4 thousand years before the movies and this is before darth bane created the rule of two one master and one apprentice
“Poor boy, the Sith ALWAYS betray one another… but I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough.” - Jedi Master Shaak Ti Basically Sith apprentices always aim to kill their Masters to become the most powerful Sith and Sith Master will always take on a stronger apprentice if they can find one.
for 15:25 the man (Emperor Valkorion) is the leader of a 3rd faction the Eternal Empire which is fighting against both the Republic and the Sith Empire, he is also the father of the two brothers Thexan in black and Arcann in white, you can see Arcann resenting his father for the lack of love and affection as well as general concern for their wellbeing, they grow up and go to war and still Valkorion does not acknowledge them which doesn't sit well in Arcann until finally after losing an arm and half his face they win and present both flags and lightsabers of the leaders of their enemies, what does Valkorion do? he turns around which finally breaks Arcann and he falls to the dark side (orange eye), ho goes for the kill on the man who has wronged him his whole life but Thexan stops him but Arcann is still drawing on the darkside and kills his brother, when he regains his senses he knows that he's in trouble but finally Valkorion is looking at him and acknowledged as his son, why would Valkorion do this? we don't really know but we can guess such as Valkorion looking down on their botherly bond and wanting a child that would stand on their own two feet or he was waiting for one of his sons to impress him and killing the other was sufficient? i dunno.
lol OFC we know why he did all that. He's Vitiate, he was looking for another body to possess so he trained his two sons to compete with each other for his approval, until only one of them would prevail. And the only way to prevail was to finally unlock their dark side. Up until that point they were in the Balance. The whole Zakuul society is based on the Balance of the Force. But then he met us, the Outlander, and we outclass everybody in the galaxy. So he shifted his aim towards us.
I literally felt more in the one with the two brothers, which lasted for what? Two and a half seconds, than I did for anyone in any of the sequels. Also the choreography in these are just NUTS!
The game is essentially an MMORPG that has multiple story lines depending on what class you pick. There is a companion system as well as a speech selection system where you can build relationships. Very good game if you want to get into the lore, but I believe the whole game is legends for the most part.
The Jedi Order and the Sith Order have different doctrines of force users. One focuses on light force, and the other on dark force. Different ways to interact with the world, and opposites of each other. Much like Democracy/Republic versus Dictatorship/Tyranny. Good versus Evil.
It's actually not about Good and Evil. It's about how one attains connection with The Force. The Jedi connect to the Force through calmness and serenity. "There is no emotion, there is peace." The Sith connect to the Force through strong emotion. "Peace is a lie. There is only Passion." The problem is, good emotions are fleeting, and hard to hold onto. It's difficult to hold onto joy constantly. Or mirth. It's easy to hold onto hatred, and anger. It's easy to instill Fear in others. That's why so many Sith turn to evil. It's simply far easier.
It's not good vs evil. The codes, when you break them down, are at conflict cause of the Jedi code. The Jedi code is Peace above EVERYTHING else. And yes, that means even above JUSTICE and GOOD. The Sith in control, for 100k years, without war or battle and everything being peaceful? The Jedi would LET THAT HAPPEN and be HAPPY about it. The Jedi Code, at it's core, is Evil. Specifically it is Neutral Evil under the bindings of Lawful Evil. They cut off your emotions, remove your freedoms, and force you to be Negotiators of Peace, and will do ANYTHING for Peace above all else. A nation ENSLAVED by evil Dictators? That is MORE peaceful than a Rebellion fighting for their freedoms and rights, as that is WAR and not Peaceful. That is what, Objectively, makes the Jedi Evil. Cause they will oppose ANYTHING that breaks the Peace. Meaning yes, they will fight REBELS trying to free themselves from Tyrants. Cause those Rebels are breaking the Peace. The Sith Code itself, is neither good nor evil, tho it is mostly used by evil and people claim it is evil. But at the end of the day, the Sith Code is about Personal Growth, and not being Chained Down by anyone or anything. Example. You see cops in front of you, they are about to murder someone illegally in cold blood. Do you stop the police? If you say no, you are following the Jedi Code, not breaking the law and rebelling, and instead keeping the Peace. However if you chose yes, and stop the police, you are Following the Sith Code, cause you don't allow yourself to be chained by Rules, Laws, and Society to prevent you from doing what YOU personally want to do. And while yes, "doing what YOU personally want to do" is used by criminals, aka the Sith we know in game and lore, to do evil. It would ALSO be Batman, Superman, and other Super Heroes who break the law to do their own Justice and Good, and other situations like that. It's Anikan, in the Clone Wars Cartoon for example, is HEAVILY Sith Code base. Cause he defies the Jedi Council, and the Republic to SAVE and HELP people, even against the ORDERS and LAWS of the Republic and Jedi Council. That is not him being a Jedi, that is him being a SITH, to break free from the chains binding him and preventing him from taking action. So in the end, Jedi Code is 100% pure evil. Which is why even in the Prequel movies and Clone Wars Cartoon, there is so much horror, crime, and evil going on with the Jedi doing NOTHING to stop any of it. Meanwhile the Sith Code is all about Freedom. However it's mostly abused by criminals who use it to have the 'Freedom' to commit crimes, and rarely by people to commit good. Except Anikan. Anikan in the Clone Wars cartoon is literally the only good Sith Master we see anywhere in all of Star Wars Media.
@@WhiteWolfDarkpaw one little correction, it's not really about calmenss or emotion, but force of will. While the jedi let themselfs be guided by the Force, the sith will themselfs aginst it. Jedi gain strengh by communing with the Force, in a sense becomimg tools for "destiny" and giving up their desires for the greater good, the sith gain strenght with sheer force of will, and the best way to steel yourself is by giving in into emotions. You could say a fat person that trains to become fit, if driven by shame, self-hate, fear of judgement and all that similar stuff, is pretty much doing what the sith do. The reason why so many sith are evil is due to the fact that the ancient sith's (species) culture was brutal and cruel to begin with. Basically all sith are sigmas.
As for lightsaber construction, the "Stone" (Kyber Crystal) used in the construction of the lightsaber is specifically sought out by the person that creates it. It varies between Canon, and Legends (Featured in these cinematics) In Legends: The crystals will emit a specific colour of blade when used to focus a lightsaber. Jedi lightsabers are typically Blue, Green, Yellow or Purple. but there's a LOT Of different colour crystals. off the top of my head Orange, Bronze, Silver, White, Viridian, Cyan. Red Crystals used by the sith, are typically synthetic, it is possible for a red crystal to be naturally occuring, but typically they are created by the sith. (In Legends, Darth Vader was said to use a rare naturally occuring Red crystal in his lightsaber) In Canon (The mainline Saga / Disney movies and shows + The Clone Wars) Jedi younglings will be taken to the Planet Illum, to participate in "The Gathering" where they go on a quest to find their crystal, the specific crystal that is bonded to them. Crystal colour is based on the personality of the Jedi that it belongs to. Blue and Green are the typical colours, but Yellow and (In Mace Windu's case) Purple can occur. How a red crystal is made, is when a dark sider "Bleeds" the crystal. by drowning the crystal in the dark side, usually through their anger, pain and rage. Sith will either, corrupt their previous Jedi crystal, or take a crystal from a Jedi they kill If a Bled crystal is healed, it will turn white
Imagine being on that Space Station in the first trailer. You thought the Sith were exterminated thousands of years ago, but now all of the sudden a massive fleet of them has appeared…
by the time of the trailer, the sith empire is already a known entity in the outer rim. It's just that they have not made the massive push towards the core of the republic yet, so much of the actual information, is rumours, hushed whispers, and random static that generally is expected to come from the outer rim, as the core worlds, tend to not like the outer rim for much more than exploiting resources. And there have always been infighting/blackmarkets/privatearing groups/and the like, aka the outer rim is always look at from the core, as "an uncivilized backwater, but we have trade routs we get resources from there, so eh"
@@gampie13 No by the point in the trailer it'd been 300 years since the sith triumvirate's defeat. The jedi have had a listening station orbiting Korriban since the end of the great hyperspace war as a precaution.
When you haven't seen the Star Wars movies, you don't know what the flags or insignia of the empire and the republic look like... knowing that detail made the cinematic of the kingdom more epic.
According to the mom, the one with the blue saber. Vaylen (the young girl) was so powerful in the force that even while in the womb, she could move furniture. She later needed to be "conditioned" to keep her powers in check. Which turned her into a psychopath
Just to add to this: Valyn was always a bit unstable. Senya and Valkorian decided to suppress her powers out of fear she would be unable to control them and cause problems. After that training mishap, Senya reluctantly agreed to have Valkorian condition her so that they would have a way to stop her if she got out of hand. So, a bunch of fanatics led by a mad scientist (supervised by Valkorian) did a lot of things to Valyn, driving her from a little unstable to fully insane, but with the benefit of having an "off switch", turning her into a mad dog on a leash.
In the old republic era there was an empire of sith (not galactic empire) and there many sith lords, later a sith named Darth Bane started the rule of 2 one sith lord and 1 apprentice. (Darth bane trilogy was the greatest star wars books ever made i recommend the read)
1:08 The only real complaint I ever had with the Old Republic is these Republic Troopers and how they were designed to evoke Clone Troopers yet predate them by around 3900 years. Knights of The Old Republic along with the Old Republic comics visually looked more unique in terms of it's designs. Naturally an MMO has to reply on Nostalgia and other media far more so they can sell outfits, skins, and weapons so you do find alot of stuff that looks like re-worked versions of stuff from the Prequals and Original trilogy. But beyond that the Art Direction of The Old Republic MMO is pretty good even if I prefer Knights of the Old Republic. You can find Knights of the Old Republic designs in the game as its only set around 300 years before The Old Republic, Can even explore a planet from Knights as well so all that's really cool. The MMO also just has some pretty generic MMO designs that weaken the overall art direction but like I said for the most part it's good.
Star Wars is Stagnant in Technology. Technology never grows. 100k before the movies, 10k before the movies, 1k before the movies, 100 years before the movie, and during the movies themselves, the Technology is the EXACT. SAME. TECHNOLOGY. EXACT same Blasters. EXACT same Lightsabers. EXACT same Spacecraft Tech, the EXACT same DROID AI TECHNOLOGY. NO MATTER the Era of lore, it's ALWAYS the EXACT. SAME. TECHNOLOGY. It might LOOK different, it might have very VERY slight subtle changes. But it's the EXACT same Technology.
If I remember correctly, lore wise at least, the Old Republic troopers armor was designed to emulate Mandolorian armor because the mandos are just really good at making both good and cool looking armor. The clone troopers had a similar concept behind their armor. Plus they all were clone of an actual mandolorian.
@@aqueousvessel8 That's all true but in terms of why they were designed that why it was really just to pull in anyone who liked the Prequals and Clone Troopers in general. So fans of the prequals would look at the Trooper class and think "Hey that looks like a Clone Trooper, cool". Old Republic is filled with these kind of designs that crash in on the hype surrounding the prequal era and so there's alot of similar designs. Compare this to something like the Tales of the Jedi comics where it really does look like a time period set thousands of years before the films. While The Old Republic hits you with alot of whiplash designs that make you go "Eh this looks cool but doesn't really fit the era" Knights of the Old Republic felt like a series set before the films visually as well. And even The High Republic reflects this much better as well. I love the Old Republic but wish it had a differant art direction that reflected more of being set thousands of years before the movies. The Republic Troopers are cool but visually they would fit better as New Republic troopers inspired by Clone Troopers of the Republic with a splash of Rebellion.
The Old Republic era is by *far* my favourite in all of Star Wars. It just feels so much bigger in scale and has more characters that interest me personally.
The man/father is also known as darth vitiate. Pretty much the strongest single sith to ever live. When he was a kid he had taken over his home planet after killing both his parents (father instantly, torturing/experimenting with his powers on the mother for many months). He was so twisted and strong in fact, the head honcho of the sith at the time formally recognized him and personally advised him in secret on how to build his power, both in the force/ army wise. He was essentially immortal as well. He lured a big portion of the sith to a planet and conducted a ritual that drained every living being's life energy into him. Which more or less turned him into energy that can inhabit bodies and thus not really die. Vitiate had no interest in relationships/family. So its really something that the mother in these cutscenes caught his attention enough for him to ignore that. What did stay is his lack of desire for children because he figured they'd be the only thing that would be able to contest with him. So he never connected with any of his children and instead used the twins as pawns in his war, either they would accomplish his goals or they would die, win-win for him. The daughter however, was strong enough to make him worry. Instead of using her he tried to sever her connection to the force, when that didn't work he put in mental blocks that prevented her from going against him. She doesn't run to her mother because she developed an intense hatred for her from all the torture/mental conditioning she was put through, feeling like her mom abandoned her to that fate. In the end it was indeed family that lead to his downfall, though hes not technically dead just contained.
Each trailers feels likes a work of art, shame that they're short cause I really want a show about the Old Republic and the Sith Empire, the old tech, troopers Chad enough to punch a Sith, and all the cool action
6:37 cause he lost and that showed weakness, if ur seen weak or f up a job ur killed by other sith (u remember how wader was with ppl working under him) specially apprentice to master, apprentice will use the chance to get hes masters place when master is so worn down after fight or lost the fight but survived, its the sith way in old republic era
In the old republic they used to train regular soldiers to resist certain force techniques. Mostly mind tricks, but the stronger soldiers could dodge and even resist force push
Star Wars The Old Republic is such a good game, you should definitely check it out. I’ve been playing it for over 10 years and it’s still consistently getting new content and updates.
If you notice in the story of the 2 brothers the brother in white for a short period had orange eyes like a sith and when he realized he killed his brother his eyes turned back to normal
Tiny touches like that can be SO powerful! Even with half his face covered you can totally "see" his expression/ thoughts. The realization that his rage towards his father had blinded him so much that he unwittingly murdered his beloved brother. Followed instantly by regret.
the trailers don't go into it very much but he's a fun fact about the twin sons trailer: The reason their father had no interest in them and their acomplishments is because he was grooming them to become his new host body, the entity is a body jumper and the fathers body right now is his strongest form, but he's looking for a newer body and thus is forcing the children to act the way he wants them to simply to prepare them for his eventual take over
For reference, The Equivalent title to a Jedi Knight in the Sith Empire would be a Sith Lord so you are correct in assuming that. Sith hierarchy generally goes acolyte, apprentice, Lord and then Darth. For the Jedi it would be Padawan, Knight and then Master.
the equivalent of Jedi Knight is Sith Warrior and Jedi Master = Sith Lord. Darh is not a rank, it's the prefix included at the beginning of every Sith's name that has finished their training and you can only become a Sith Lord once you've killed your matser. After finishing your training as a Padawan, you don't have to become a Jedi Knight, you can become a Temple Guard, a Jedi Librarian, a Jedi Archeologist, a Consular Jedi and many more
@@nataliefaust7959then why was Maul named Darth Maul even tho he was still Darth Sidious' apprentice ? and why has he become just "Maul" after leaving the siths ? it's a title, not a rank
The Darth title actually replaces Master (no Sith Master rank). Darth is just below Emperor, though even Darths answer to the Dark Council, who are also all Darths.
As a small addition, the Master of the Sith is a Darth, then there was the Sith Council and Emperor, and among the Jedi there is also the Grand Master, however, a Sith still calls his master master, and a Darth's student can also be a Darth himself, just as a Jedi master also has a master.
Yep, the lightsabers power source is indeed a living crystal called Kyber. That crystal is literally alive and in synched with the force itself, and thats why the krystal must choose the force user, not the opposite. Every color has a meaning: --- Blue: For the jedis who choosen to focus on the lightsaber skills --- Green: For the jedis who choosen to discover the new paths of the force --- Yellow: For the jedis who choosen the knowledge of the world. --- Purple: It means the user is a jedi that can access to some knowledge and skills of the dark side without feeling atracted by the darkness. (curious fact, this color is rejected both for jedis and sith, for the jedis means the posibility of fall into the dark side, and for the siths means that the user refuses to embrace the darkness) There are other colors for special cases: --- Red: Thoose are powered by normal kybers that were corrupted by a lord of sith (aligned with the dark side of the force), the ritual is literally know as "Kyber Bleeding". --- Orange: For thoose who choosen the dark side but without embracing it completely --- Black: Is proabably a modified kyber that belongs to the only dark saber on the lore (it was created by the only mandalorian who became a jedi and it gives the right to lead mandalorians). --- White: Also known as "phantom blades" is exactly the opposite to the Red saber. Thoose are purified kybers that were synchronyzed with the light side of the force completely and the ritual is exactly the opposite than the "kyber bleeding"
16:17 that is a kyber crystal. That is used to create and focus the plasma blade of a lightsaber. In Star Wars Legends (pre-Disney) kyber crystals were synthetically created by the Sith for their lightsabers and in current canon, kyber crystals were bled through the force by the sith turning them red. The Death Star used massive amounts of kyber crystals for its high powered planet destroying energy beam.
The game is good however the game is only free up to the expansions I believe. The story connected to the last cinematic trailer you watched is actually not complete but I personally found it to be really fun. + you get to make your own character from 8 options. 1. Jedi knight 2. Sith Warrior 3. Smuggler 4. Bounty hunter 5. Jedi Consular 6. Sith Inquisitor 7. Republic Trooper 8. Imperial Agent I personally recommend playing all of the classes since they all have their own unique stories and characters connected to them. I have played the game since the early stages and it has been improved upon in many ways.
There can only be one heir to the throne, which is why Emperor Valkorion acknowledges Arcann once he kills his brother for the first time- because now he is the sole heir to the Eternal Empire's Throne.
The Old Republic in general is set around three thousand years before even the first movie. The three first trailers are in chronological order, showing the return of the Sith Empire and ending with the Sacking of Coruscant. The Empire won, the Republic was forced into an uneasy peace treaty. The game takes place during the Galactic Cold War that follows, these are just setting up the story so far. The two after take place after the Cold War kicks off and a few other things happen. The older man is the Eternal Emperor, and he's essentially Emperor Palpatine but immortal and so much more powerful. Even the mighty sith empire was a failure in his eyes, so he stopped being their emperor, started a new empire, and totally crushed the Republic and the Sith Empire with the power of his new Eternal Empire. If you've ever seen KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) or KOTOR II, they're set a few hundred years before SWTOR and SWTOR is essentially the MMO successor. Some people like it, some hate it, it's definitely not even close to looking like the trailers but that's just how advertising works. I love the lore of the Old Republic because unlike the movies, this is the HEIGHT of both the Jedi and the Sith. The Republic and Empire battling at their absolute strongest, with the greatest on both sides. If you do ever try it out, Sith Inquisitor and Imperial Agent have the best storylines by far, and the Jedi Knight is a great one if you don't like playing the bad guys. TL;DR - Giving some general lore, fun game but don't expect it to look this good. Yes I'm a nerd.
what i liked ther most is the literal first jedi we see in these cinematic trailers is a member of the smake species darth maul was, i really liked that detail for some reason
The stone, which is a kyber crystal, does NOT power the lightsaber. The energy put into the crystal helps to form the blade as well as a focusing crystal. Lightsabers contain a rechargeable power cell which is in the bottom 3rd of the hilt, though some power cells are bigger, and some smaller. Several factors involved in the design of an individual saber.
The stone that powers lightsabers are called Kyber Crystals. They’re only found on certain planets in Star Wars, and are very powerful. They were used in the Death Stars to power the laser cannons. And for Old Republic, I’d say it’s good. It’s not the best game, but it’s fun. Although it doesn’t look as good as the cinematic trailers. It lets you make choices based on dialogue and your character’s actions. If you like story games where you can make choices then you might like it. You should try to play the Knights of the Old Republic games first though, as they come before Old Republic.
I love this era of Star Wars it’s probably my favorite era in Star Wars if you would like to know more about the lore just ask or watch Star Wars legends timeline by vaders fortress 2 he’s making several vids he has I think 4 out now
I'm so glad you checked these out! They are peak Star Wars. If you're interested in the story and not the game, check out the Jedi Knight storyline. It's one the best stories and ties in closer to the in storyline as a whole. Though I do recommend playing the game if you want, it's so damn fun but long
Ahhh actual pleasant Star Wars memories. Buying the VHS 3 pack with Yoda, vader etc. on each cover. I remember buying KOTOR 1 at Blockbuster for that big ole' fat Xbox (don't get me started on that original fat controller lol) but that began my obsession of the Old Republic. KOTOR 2, bought the The Old Republic after seeing the trailer and read all the books and the KOTOR comics. Good days..just kinda sad now. Revan & Malgus the 2 best meatbags ever!
I know i'm late but: The two Brothers from the later trailers in this playlist belong to a third Faction outside of the Empire and the Republic. As you could see they fought off both Empire and Republic troops. They are already evil from the get go actually. The Brother simply snapped at the end of the first trailer because their father would never acknowledge them and in his anger he didn't hold back even against his own brother.

this is by far the best star wars i have ever seen, period.
The crystal in the lightsaber is to focus the beam, like focusing a magnifying glass with sunlight just right to make fire, except that the kyber crystals are unique to the individual Jedi who finds a crystal that is the most attuned to them (kinda like the wands in Harry Potter); in the old lore, the Sith had red sabers because they made synthetic crystals as a way to mock the Jedi way of getting them from nature, in the new lore Dark Side users turn their crystals red by channelling their dark emotions into it...
6:37 "Why did he kill him?" Answer: "When your power eclipses mine I will become expendable. This is the Rule of Two: one Master and one apprentice. When you are ready to claim the mantle of Dark Lord as your own, you must do so by eliminating me." - Darth Bane Darth Malgus saw a golden opportunity to overthrow his master and end his apprenticeship and he took it.
So Star Wars: The Old Republic is your standard MMO fare, gameplay wise, but where it shines are the stories. You can play on the Republic side or Sith Empire side. Each faction has 4 stories, for a total of 8. For the Republic side, you have the Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler, and Trooper and for Sith you have the Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, and Imperial Agent; each has their own unique story (up until the expansions where it becomes more linear) to play through. Classes have changed a lot, where you can now play with any combat style (exceptions being that the Force user classes cannot use styles based around using blasters and vice versa), so you could have a Jedi throwing around lightning like a Sith if you wanted. Overall, imo, the game ranges from good to great with weak areas, but the stories are well worth going through
I would rank the class stories as Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Knight and Imperial Agent. What is completely certain is that the Jedi Consular story is the worst. Which is a shame.
Fun fact/spoiler: malgus (the bald Sith Lord) got jumped and arrested by your character as soon as he left the temple. He is currently 0 for 3 against your character, and you have the option to keep reminding him about that
Yeah, the Outlander is definitely stronger than Malgus. It would be tough to argue anything else at this point. The Jedi Knight story definitely feels more canon than the others, even if I find the Sith Inquisitor story more interesting. But I don't see a "caster" winning against Malgus, unless it was Sheev or Tenebrae. But they would stomp anyone except full potential Anakin or GM Luke.
@@Sandlund93 honestly to me Jedi knight is canon for the republic, and imperial agent is canon for the empire, mostly cause the are both the most fleshed out. Knight killing the emperor, the agent dealing with the BS that the sith warrior and inquisitor are doing fighting baras and thanaton.
So to give you some heads up on the game if you do wish to play it - and I’d highly recommend it. The game is very similar to many old MMOs of the day like World of Warcraft where you select your Race, Class and slowly over completing hours of quests and story missions gain new powers abilities and so on. However, one major change and thing that separates the SWTOR experience from those others, is that instead of just choosing your race and class and playing through a single mainline story that kind of encompasses everyone. No. Each of the 8 classes has their own unique storyline with actual choices inside them that can effect future events and storyline parts (good example is that when playing my Imperial agent, I executed a certain character mid way through the story. On seeing my friend play the story and not do that action, he actually had that character re-appear later on and actually effect his later story while in mine he didn’t cause he was dead). Also to note the 8 classes are separated into two factions: Republic has: Jedi Guardian Jedi Councillor Smuggler Republic Trooper Sith Empire has: Sith Warrior Sith Inquisitor Bounty Hunter Imperial Agent Personally I have completed both the Imperial Agent and Republic Trooper storylines and am only in act one of the Jedi Guardian storyline even after a good 20+ hours. Note each storyline also doesn’t just end there either. If you are a subscriber you will have access to all the after story expansion packs including the Enteral Empire storyline and the latest storyline happening now. And last thing is too. The game can also technically be said to also have 16 storylines as you can actually play your character as either light side or dark side throughout the story and there are choice that will reflect one of these options (think how like in Mass Effect you have a Paragon and Renegade choice) and choosing them actually can have some consequences throughout the story in how certain people see you. Good example of this is again in my play throughs. In my Republic Trooper playthrough I choose 99% of the light side options however, playing my character as a Republic fanatic, anytime I got a choice at executing a Sith I choose that option instead of arresting them. In my Imperial Agent play through I went full on Imperial loyalist and chose pretty much every dark side option possible outside a few light sided ones when it came to protecting some of my companions and defending proper loyal and effective Sith troopers. Outside that it was most alot of executing people for incompetence/subterfuge/cause “why not”. And in my current Jedi Guardian play through I am playing a Dark Sided Jedi who is absolutely cocksure in her abilities and absolutely despises authority and being forced to try and stick to the Jedi code vs just being allowed to be let off the chain and fight the Sith how she wishes.
I have been playing The Star Wars Old Republic since the beta testing, and this game is absolutely amazing. Yes, it takes a bit to get use to where everything is. But in my opinion it is worth it!
There is a 7-hour long swtor video by Gamer’s Little Playground on TH-cam that sums up the story of the 4th and 5th trailers you watched with the twins and Vailin. Especially the first couple of hours of it are REALLY good if you want to watch the play through. The 7hour long video is not the full episode though, he continues it in another 3hr long video I think.
"You're still alive, how did you survive the grenade" I hear this all the time, I'll explain why. If you watch back closely when you see the grenade explode there is a shimmering wall in front of the soldier, the Jedi Satele blocked the majority of the effect which is why the soldier survived the grenade.
That shimmering may just be his shield. Energy shields are common in this era. That also would explain why he took the lightning like he did. Also, that was an ion grenade (essentially an EMP), meant for damaging droids. Being that close isn't advisable, of course, but survivable. Jace Malcum saw Satele Shan struggling and intended to stun/distract Darth Malgus, because Jace is a Chad.
@@captainstinkyvonpoopberg4925 Could have been as there is no actual description of what grenade he took but it was more than likely a thermal detonator as an Ion Grenade doesn't cause physical damage, we've seen it in the Clone Wars as they just disable the droids.
Like you say, we'll never know, but thermal detonators are essentially miniature nukes with a built-in limiter to contain the explosion to a radius of a few meters, and are usually shown to have a more fiery, red explosion. The blue effect, as well as the fact that both Jace and Malgus survive (not to mention Jace's hand isn't disintegrated and can be used to fire the flare moments afterward) indicates, to me at least, that it is some other kind of (non-lethal) grenade.
These trailers with less words and much less time made me feel more invested, attached to the characters, and connected to the Star Wars universe then all the entire Sequel Trilogy and Disney Star Wars shows combined.
Jedi got their lightsaber crystals (kyber crystals) from the crystal caves of the ice planet of Ilum. They go there as younglings and undergo a trial where their respective kyber crystals choose them through the force. But sith could only get sabers by defeating a Jedi and taking their kyber crystal. Then they bleed the kyber using the dark side of the force, corrupting it for their own use. That is when the saber changes color to red.
@@nataliefaust7959 That's boring. The story on how kylo ren bled his crystal was so good. You should check it out. To be fair though for one of Vader's lightsabers the crystal was found it in a cave on Dantooine
I've played the game consistently since it was released and, even though the gameplay is not nearly as polished as the cinematics(as with most games), it's still a TON of fun to play! Every single mission and dialogue is done in an in-game cinematic-style dialogue with full choices of how you respond. And there are two factions, Republic and Empire. And even within that, you can STILL choose whether you want your character to be more Light Side or Dark Side via your dialogue choices.
Not to mention 8 different class stories, even the same class can be experienced in countless of different ways. In the expas it gets more streamlined ofc but the beginning of KotFE is arguably the best segment of the entire game.
@Don Those Sith in the second trailer are basically Sith Warriors or Sith Acolytes. Basically foot soldiers with some force training and light sabers. Some more skilled than others, but still a form of grunt.
They don’t really show it in these videos but the soldiers have personal shield generators in the games so that’s how the commando survived Darth Malgus’s force lightning & the grenade
These trailers are so ridiculously good, far better than anything we got from Disney w/ the sequel trilogy. For a bit of context behind the lore, the Sith have ranks just like the Jedi do, at least the old Sith did as there were hundreds of them instead of just 2 like in the movies. Acolytes were apprentices, akin to Padawans, and Sith Lords were the equivalent of Jedi Masters. Malgus, the Sith we see in the first 3 trailers, was an apprentice of Vindican (the guy who was injured in the 1st trailer), and as Sith principles dictate that apprentices can only become lords once their master has died, Malgus took the opportunity to murder his master, to inherit his title. And also, yes, because as he stated, his master had failed to kill the Jedi. Since Malgus had to do it himself, he believed he'd surpassed his master and therefore had no more need of him. The soldiers who fought in the second trailer were known as Havoc squad, and they were specially trained to fight force users, and their leader (the guy with the grenade) was especially tough even among the other soldiers. The female Jedi who fought w/ them was named Satele Shan, and she's a descendent of two legendary Jedi, Revan & Bastilla Shan, and she eventually becomes a grand master of the Jedi herself, holding the same title as Yoda & Mace Windu many years after her. The Jedi who fought the two Sith users in the first trailer was her master, Kao Cen Darach, and he was a Jedi Battlemaster (meaning he mastered just about all 7 forms of lightsaber combat to some degree), hence why he was able to do so well in the 2v1.
The story of all the characters in these videos are so good. If you like the videos definitely check out star wars legends books. These are also trailers for a video game like 20 years ago. You can still play it and learn more about these characters
I don’t know when the rule of two happened in relation to this, but in periods when it is more relaxed, there are two main powerful sith, who are the Sith Lords, and everyone else are usually referred to as Accolytes, or sometimes just ‘Dark Jedi’ . Even before the rule of two, you had to be REALLY powerful and skilled to be named a Sith Lord and get a proper Sith name with the title of ‘Darth’
The Rule of Two happened about 2650 years after this. Never before had there been just two Sith at any given time. It was always an Empire full of Force sensitives. Well, since the days of Ajunta Pall anyway. This was back in 7000 BBY, when the Dark Jedi first arrived on Korriban and mixed with the Sith race. At least during Tenebrae's reign, Darth was a higher rank than Sith Lord and the highest rank was Dark Lord of the Sith. During Episode 1-6 all three of these are pretty much the same thing, which makes it a bit confusing. Tenebrae, of course, declared himself Emperor instead of Dark Lord of the Sith but it was essentially the same thing. He was the goat.
Man in the story with the two brothers is called Darth Vishid. The lore behind him is so cool, I recommend that you react to some lore videos about him
The game itself is fun and has some really good stories depending on which class you pick. The trailers are always INSANE and it is very sad to see how Disney does not capitalize on stuff like this. I would love to see movies and shows based on the Old Republic era or even just based on the Sith's perspective.
If you’re interested in the game, it’s an open world, MMO with pretty standard, (but I think good) gameplay, but what sets it aside is that most all of the NPC interactions had actual animations, dialogue and voice actors, instead of just a wall of text you had to read: even though each character class pretty much goes through the same story, you do get to make some choices that matter, and it really makes you feel like it’s your own story
~ 16:15 a Kyber Krystal powers a lightsaber, the task of being a youngling (to actually become someone's Padawan) is to find your own out in the wilderness, so you can build your own saber, hence the strong connection
6:35 he killed his Master because that’s what Sith do. If the apprentice gets stronger then the master he betrays him and takes his place. That’s called the rule of two. Sidious did that too to his master while he was sleeping. But after that none of sidious apprentices got stronger than him to kill him.
That zabrak (first jedi with the horns in the 2v1) was the Battlemaster for the Jedi Order at the time. So basically the best of the best in terms of expertise in saber combat.
in the game if u play as empire player and sith its interesting, u can give empire the middle finger later on, well u were brought in as force sensitive slave and were trained in the ways of the sith, u see how fed up it is and and want to either change or destroy it or u actually enjoy and it drives u, meaning u 100% support it, u decide what ur char is like
7:50 im not too sure on what your trying to say here but let me explain about the sith. Sith use the dark side of the force. A Sith Lord is a user of the dark side and is the sith equivalent to a Jedi Master. The apprentice of a Sith is called an acolyte, Darth Plagueis (Palpatines master)thought of Darth Maul as a sith assasin and not an Palpatines Apprentice. In between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones Palpatine killed his master Plagueis. Sith are appointed the name of Darth by their master, for example Darth Maul, Vader, Tyrannus(Dooku), Sidious, Plagueis, Malgus. The reason Kylo Ren was not Darth Ren or something like that was because he was technicaply the last sith left excluding Snoke. So no master could appoint him. The rule of 2 where there can only be 2 sith a master and apprentice probably prevented Assaj Ventress from getting the title aswell.
Don't know if you'll see this, but the Eternal Empire (aka the faction/group those two brothers with the yellow lightsabers were apart of) are actually the truly evil one's, and fought both Sith and Jedi simultaneously, and were winning until the Sith and Jrdi teamed up (not shown in these trailers). Also the Sith combatants are just Sith Warriors, Malgus and his master (first trailer) are/were Sith Lords. just for clarification if you ever see this... also Red lightsabers arent natural, the Sith bleed them to turn them red, they are originally blue, green, yellow, or whatever, very rarely are they natural red, if ever.
The old republic game is so good, u get to reply live the life of whatever u want to be in the Star Wars verse. U can be different types of jedi, diff types of sith, and u can also be a soldier, smuggler, agent. With each different character having its own personal story. U will learn a lot more about Star Wars such as weapons, people, planets, wars. It is the single greatest Star Wars game ever. Plus the old republic is some of the most peak Star wars
Kyber Crystals are the source of power of the lightsaber. As a Jedi you have to go onto a planet for a Crystal to call for you. So everybody has their Personal Crystal. The Sith put all their hate into their Lightsaber so the Crystal starts to bleed. Thats why theirs are red.
not sure about that... "apprentice" is a sith padawan... acolyte might be more of an affiliated term, a follower of the religion but not a direct Sith...
The lowest rank within the Sith Order was the Sith Acolyte rank. Also known as Sith Initiates, these were the “younglings” of the Sith and were young members of the order.@@originalSiiiN
@@potkan07 Yeah, this is my interpretation as well. I guess novice would be more formal than younglings but yes. Or maybe novice just appeared in a lexicon I used to read, the term doesn't seem to appear on Wookieepedia.
You should try playing the 'Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic' (KOTOR) games. They are older (single player) games set before the time of 'Star Wars: The Old Republic' which is an MMORPG. The first two trailers were for the base games while the others were promotions for expansion content. The KOTOR games contain a lot of elements and background lore that would help you understand the events that happened leading up to Star Wars: The Old Republic and a lot of elements within it. They also go into things like the Jedi and Sith codes allowing players to learn a lot of background lore within the Star Wars universe and are great games in any case, even if the graphics and much of the gameplay seem dated by modern standards.
Lightsabers are powered by kybercrystals, a rare mineral in the starwars universe, that man with his 2 sons is the eternal emperor, who has ruled for over 2000 years in the shadows, how you ask? he could transfer his conciousness to other bodies by way of forbidden sith rituals, theres a whole story about that guy.
Regarding your question about what to call the force users with red lightsabers, you have it correct at "Sith". The term "Sith" originally was a race of people from a specific planet that used the Force with a certain philosophy that naturally led to them using the Dark Side. Typically Sith with higher rank will have titles such as "Lord' or "Darth" (aka Darth Vader).
The game is free upto level 50, for access to the expansions and upto level 80 you gotta buy the subscription at least once, doing so unlocks all that is available at the time of the subscription period for your account permanently, but any new expansions that releases while you are NOT subscribed is NOT unlocked and you need to subscribe again to unlock them. I'd say it's worth it for a 3 month subscription atm, unlocks a large amount of story content for you. There are 8 classes, each with its own unique class story for the "main game" (the F2P content), but the story becomes more centralized afterward. You can comfortably play up to level 50 before deciding if you want to put the money in for a subscription for the additional content, though like most MMO's, EXP gains are slower for F2P players.
These trailers show there is so much potential for Star Wars outside of the Skywalkers....an Old Republic movie, series, whatever would be fun
I would love an old republic animated show like the clone wars. With filoni, faverau (however you spell it) and Sam witwer in charge. Woukd be amazing
Facts old republic is EPIC
@@thomasnieswandt8805 my exact thoughts, disney seems to be using star wars as nostalgia bait nowadays and not even trying to make it good
I always thought an Old Republic series in the style of Game of Thrones would be awesome. I just don't trust Disney to do it.

Those trailers are so goddamn amazing, I can’t believe they still look so good even after all those years.
Agreed. I still enjoy coming back to watch them just to get amped up sometimes. :)
That's why Kylo Ren's lightsaber was "wiggly", he had a cracked Kyber crystal.
That's cannon nobody cares especially on a video having only to do with Legends
@@jeambeam3173 That's still how it worked in Legends, why are you being so hostile?
@@jeambeam3173 The current canon is based on Legends when it comes to unstable crystals, bleeding crystals, purifying crystals, etc., but they didn't take in the part about the Jedi personality dictating color. If you're gonna be an asshole, at least know what you're talking about.
That's how it works in canon.
In Legends red crystals were just synthesized, and crystal color was based on personality or skill focus.

1) Return: (38 years before the start of the game)
Republic classes & characters: Master Kao Cen Darach (Jedi Knight class) - Zabrak male; Satele Shan (Jedi Consular class) - human female; Niko Okarr (Smuggler class) - human male; Jace Malcolm (Republic Trooper class) - human male.
2) Hope: (24 years before the start of the game)
Jace Malcolm, Satele Shan, and Malgus (now Darth Malgus) return on Alderaan...the planet destroyed in Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope by the Death Star.
3) Deceived: (14 years before the start of the game)
Darth Malgus returns for the Sacking of Coruscant and the destruction of the Jedi Temple.
Meanwhile...the back story for the two largest expansions in SWTOR, is the next two cinematics:
4) Sacrifice: (Introducing the Eternal Empire of Zakuul for the expansionof Knights of the Fallen Empire (KotFE))
Arcann (in white) and Thexan (in black) are twin sons of Emperor Valkorian, and they lead the fight against both the Republic and the Empire with the Eternal Fleet, almost breaking them. Arcann is an NPC, withthea possibility of becoming a companion, depending on how you play the expansion,
5) Betrayed: (expanding the EternaEmpirere storyline for the expansion Knights of the Eternal Throne (KOTET))
Senya Terall tries to rescue her daughter, Vaylin from her father, Emperor Valkorian's grasp...Senya is also the mother of Arcann and Thexan. Senya is a companion in the expansion KotF, and might stay one in KOTET. Vaylin is an NPC.
6) Disorder (Recent Legacy of the Sith expansion in 2022)
This is the backstory for Sa'har Kateen, a Jedi Padawan Twi'lek, her master Denholm Orr, and Sa'har's brother, Ri'ken...who has become a Twi'lek Mandalorian in the game.
Going by the blade colors I belive you reversed the two Jedi Classes
@@robpettigrew3308 Nope, the blade colors don’t really matter as you can get a green saber with the Jedi knight I believe (if you side with Bengal). Kao Cen Darach uses force powers that only the Jedi Knight is able to use (saber throw and the ground smash, forgot what it’s called in game), and before one of the updates changed it, Knights only used single-blades and Consulars had a choice to use double-blades.
Also this era of Star Wars about 3-4 thousand years before the movies and this is before darth bane created the rule of two one master and one apprentice
This looks sick as fuck, the throw to help her was clean but him fighting with a normal lightsaber and the double sided? 10/10 that shit was perfect
“Poor boy, the Sith ALWAYS betray one another… but I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough.” - Jedi Master Shaak Ti
Basically Sith apprentices always aim to kill their Masters to become the most powerful Sith and Sith Master will always take on a stronger apprentice if they can find one.
for 15:25 the man (Emperor Valkorion) is the leader of a 3rd faction the Eternal Empire which is fighting against both the Republic and the Sith Empire, he is also the father of the two brothers Thexan in black and Arcann in white, you can see Arcann resenting his father for the lack of love and affection as well as general concern for their wellbeing, they grow up and go to war and still Valkorion does not acknowledge them which doesn't sit well in Arcann until finally after losing an arm and half his face they win and present both flags and lightsabers of the leaders of their enemies, what does Valkorion do? he turns around which finally breaks Arcann and he falls to the dark side (orange eye), ho goes for the kill on the man who has wronged him his whole life but Thexan stops him but Arcann is still drawing on the darkside and kills his brother, when he regains his senses he knows that he's in trouble but finally Valkorion is looking at him and acknowledged as his son, why would Valkorion do this? we don't really know but we can guess such as Valkorion looking down on their botherly bond and wanting a child that would stand on their own two feet or he was waiting for one of his sons to impress him and killing the other was sufficient? i dunno.
As I know Valkorian is Darth Vitiate in a new body
@schytoyamnaya9015 yup, Vitiate is another kind of monster
Well valkorian is Darth vititate and this explains everything
"When you have the same eyes as me, come and find me.". So much good storytelling has parallels^^
lol OFC we know why he did all that.
The trailers themselves are much more cinematic and WAY better than the Crappy Sequel Trilogy.

Everything belong to legend, nothing is canon, bioware have the right on the old republic
"There is no emotion, there is peace."
The Sith connect to the Force through strong emotion. "Peace is a lie. There is only Passion."
The problem is, good emotions are fleeting, and hard to hold onto.
The entire point of the Old Republic is to show the Jedi and Sith aren't necessarily "good vs evil".
16:12 The stone that powers a lightsaber is called a Khyber Crystal
Also powers the Death Star's lasers.
@@negladiatorit’s also why there’s no more crystals on illum the empire mined them after the fall of the Jedi
Kyber*
As for lightsaber construction, the "Stone" (Kyber Crystal) used in the construction of the lightsaber is specifically sought out by the person that creates it. It varies between Canon, and Legends (Featured in these cinematics)
In Legends: The crystals will emit a specific colour of blade when used to focus a lightsaber. Jedi lightsabers are typically Blue, Green, Yellow or Purple. but there's a LOT Of different colour crystals. off the top of my head
Orange, Bronze, Silver, White, Viridian, Cyan.
Red Crystals used by the sith, are typically synthetic, it is possible for a red crystal to be naturally occuring, but typically they are created by the sith. (In Legends, Darth Vader was said to use a rare naturally occuring Red crystal in his lightsaber)
In Canon (The mainline Saga / Disney movies and shows + The Clone Wars)
Jedi younglings will be taken to the Planet Illum, to participate in "The Gathering" where they go on a quest to find their crystal, the specific crystal that is bonded to them.
Sith will either, corrupt their previous Jedi crystal, or take a crystal from a Jedi they kill
If a Bled crystal is healed, it will turn white
Just to add to this:
Valyn was always a bit unstable.
You can explore quite a few planets from the Kotor series and Swtor is after Kotor chronologically
Palpatine did a lot to pay homage to previous Sith
While The Old Republic hits you with alot of whiplash designs that make you go "Eh this looks cool but doesn't really fit the era"
Knights of the Old Republic felt like a series set before the films visually as well.
Those are absolute classics 🔥🔥🔥
16:18 Kind of, thats a kyber crystal, there are different kinds of kyber crystals and colours.
Star Wars The Old Republic is such a good game, you should definitely check it out. I’ve been playing it for over 10 years and it’s still consistently getting new content and updates.
Absolutely love SWTOR, one of the few MMOs you can play solo for the story alone and still feel like you're not missing anything
Old republic Jedi are just built different.
the trailers don't go into it very much but he's a fun fact about the twin sons trailer:
The reason their father had no interest in them and their acomplishments is because he was grooming them to become his new host body, the entity is a body jumper and the fathers body right now is his strongest form, but he's looking for a newer body and thus is forcing the children to act the way he wants them to simply to prepare them for his eventual take over
That scene in the 2nd trailer when the jedi lass showed up
With the score is just perfect
And man that soldier went hard on sith boi
Sith
Initiate
Acolyte
Lord
Master
Jedi
Youngling
Padawan/Apprentice
Knight
Master
forgot Darth, which is a rank abow master, and in the old republic empire, is highly coveted
Every color has a meaning:
--- Blue: For the jedis who choosen to focus on the lightsaber skills
--- Green: For the jedis who choosen to discover the new paths of the force
--- Yellow: For the jedis who choosen the knowledge of the world.
--- Purple: It means the user is a jedi that can access to some knowledge and skills of the dark side without feeling atracted by the darkness. (curious fact, this color is rejected both for jedis and sith, for the jedis means the posibility of fall into the dark side, and for the siths means that the user refuses to embrace the darkness)
There are other colors for special cases:
--- Red: Thoose are powered by normal kybers that were corrupted by a lord of sith (aligned with the dark side of the force), the ritual is literally know as "Kyber Bleeding".
--- Orange: For thoose who choosen the dark side but without embracing it completely
--- Black: Is proabably a modified kyber that belongs to the only dark saber on the lore (it was created by the only mandalorian who became a jedi and it gives the right to lead mandalorians).
1. Jedi knight
2. Sith Warrior
3. Smuggler
4. Bounty hunter
5. Jedi Consular
6. Sith Inquisitor
7. Republic Trooper
8. Imperial Agent
I personally recommend playing all of the classes since they all have their own unique stories and characters connected to them. I have played the game since the early stages and it has been improved upon in many ways.
The first two expansions are also free. So, 8 full Class stories plus 2 expansions completely free. The absolute best F2P experience in any game.
Yeah man, the Old Republic goes HARD
There can only be one heir to the throne, which is why Emperor Valkorion acknowledges Arcann once he kills his brother for the first time- because now he is the sole heir to the Eternal Empire's Throne.
10:18 *FACT* : this thing called Tutaminis. An acient jedi/Sith technic from the old Republic, only a few force user have learned it!!
There’s videos that put the entire storyline (dialogue/cutscenes only) for each class of the game. Feels almost like a movie, I’d recommend
I love this era of Star Wars it’s probably my favorite era in Star Wars if you would like to know more about the lore just ask or watch Star Wars legends timeline by vaders fortress 2 he’s making several vids he has I think 4 out now
LETSSSS GOOO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A REACTION TO THESE!!! These trailers as absolutely fantastic
That "stone" that powers lightsabers is called a kyber crystal. Fun fact a large kyber crystal was used to power the Death star
The stones are called Kyber crystals. They are the source of a lightsaber's power.
20:00 The heir should be alone, he was waiting for one to surpass the other
I know i'm late but: The two Brothers from the later trailers in this playlist belong to a third Faction outside of the Empire and the Republic.
6:37 "Why did he kill him?"
Answer: "When your power eclipses mine I will become expendable. This is the Rule of Two: one Master and one apprentice. When you are ready to claim the mantle of Dark Lord as your own, you must do so by eliminating me." - Darth Bane
Darth Malgus saw a golden opportunity to overthrow his master and end his apprenticeship and he took it.
The Rule of Two wasn’t around then. This was thousands of years before Bane.
@@Tyralak I know. I'm just talking about the relationship between a Sith Master and a Sith Apprentice both before and during the Rule of Two.
Watching this after the acolyte is like the spoon of jam yer grandma gives you after nasty medicine.
Overall, imo, the game ranges from good to great with weak areas, but the stories are well worth going through
Ironically, the best class story that I felt in the game wasn’t even a force user. The story for the imperial agent was god tier.
@AgentRedShirt agreed. 2nd best for me is Inquisitor
I would rank the class stories as Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Knight and Imperial Agent. What is completely certain is that the Jedi Consular story is the worst. Which is a shame.
@@Sandlund93 it's definitely the worst in the beginning, but imo it picks up later, especially by Act 3. Still the weakest story of them all even then
Fun fact/spoiler: malgus (the bald Sith Lord) got jumped and arrested by your character as soon as he left the temple.
He is currently 0 for 3 against your character, and you have the option to keep reminding him about that
I still think we should free emperor Malgus
@@Mert_Yanik No I like when I’m able to go down there and verbally abuse and insult him, It’s funny.(and yes I am a sith)
lmao, main character syndrome is OP
The jedi master in the first trailer was the jedi battle master before he died , which means he was the best duelist the jedi had
Also to note the 8 classes are separated into two factions:
Republic has:
Jedi Guardian
Jedi Councillor
Smuggler
Republic Trooper
Sith Empire has:
Sith Warrior
Sith Inquisitor
Bounty Hunter
Imperial Agent
Personally I have completed both the Imperial Agent and Republic Trooper storylines and am only in act one of the Jedi Guardian storyline even after a good 20+ hours.
16:13 The stone/crystal focuses the energy and gives it its colour.
After all these years, I just started playing this game.
I AM ADDICTED
so glad you reacted to these
There is a 7-hour long swtor video by Gamer’s Little Playground on TH-cam that sums up the story of the 4th and 5th trailers you watched with the twins and Vailin. Especially the first couple of hours of it are REALLY good if you want to watch the play through. The 7hour long video is not the full episode though, he continues it in another 3hr long video I think.
I loveeeee the old republic. I definitely look into it. Very awesome starwars lore
"You're still alive, how did you survive the grenade" I hear this all the time, I'll explain why.
If you watch back closely when you see the grenade explode there is a shimmering wall in front of the soldier, the Jedi Satele blocked the majority of the effect which is why the soldier survived the grenade.
iirc its also just a sonic grenade and not the more deadly thermal detonator
@@captainstinkyvonpoopberg4925 True, one thing we can agree on is that Jace is a total badass.
Also Dantooine had a cave of Kyber crystals there's a mission in KOTOR 2 I believe
Old Republic goes hard
Btw lightsabers are powered by kyber crystals
That stunning looking planet with all the mountains and forests in the second video? It's the first victim of the Death-Star: ALDERAAN
But after that none of sidious apprentices got stronger than him to kill him.
rule of 2 didnt exist till a few thousand years after that scene, this sith order is as numerous as the jedi. they were both warring factions
@@flabbergaster1011 ah damn yeah you are right. But it’s still the same reason he killed him. To be the lord and master of the Sith
@misterprow5415 yes sith greed still existed, it just became formalized as the rule of 2
@@misterprow5415yeah Sith empire is run by the weak dies and strong survive mentality if the apprentice or master show weakness they are purge.
I played the game. Its worth while. I like the amount of choices you can do that can change your character’s story.
YA SITH LORDS IS WHAT THERE CALLED. BUT IN THIS TIME FRAME THERE A LOT OF OTHER TITLES. SITH ACOLYTES ARE LIKE JEDI PADAWANS.
not sure about that... "apprentice" is a sith padawan... acolyte might be more of an affiliated term, a follower of the religion but not a direct Sith...
@@originalSiiiNan apprentice is an apprentice, but an acolyte is a full sith that was once an apprentice but not powerful enough to become a sith lord
@@lnferno_yt and from hwhat canon source material are you finding this info 🤔
They also go into things like the Jedi and Sith codes allowing players to learn a lot of background lore within the Star Wars universe and are great games in any case, even if the graphics and much of the gameplay seem dated by modern standards.
yoo glad you enjoyed these trailers are amazing and so the reaction 🔥🔥🔥
Lightsabers are powered by kybercrystals, a rare mineral in the starwars universe, that man with his 2 sons is the eternal emperor, who has ruled for over 2000 years in the shadows, how you ask? he could transfer his conciousness to other bodies by way of forbidden sith rituals, theres a whole story about that guy.
YES HE DID IT
Regarding your question about what to call the force users with red lightsabers, you have it correct at "Sith".
These Star Wars Cinematics are crazy good
