That's great that you want to revisit the kit. So many great drummers out there to fuel inspiration and creativity. This ladies playing is fantastic. I definitely urge you to jump behind that kit and finesse the hell out of it!
To this point she's one of the most talented drummers I've seen on TH-cam. Comparing drummers is pointless, because every great musician should have their own signature sound/style/techniques. She most definitely has a very cool personal style and some brilliant techniques of her own. Her handwork is mesmerizing, but there's something in her footwork as well that I can't put my finger on. Her timing is absolutely spot on, but thanks to her sense of rhytm and musicality it never sounds like a boring lifeless drum machine. This composition is also immensely musical, and it's just a joy to listen to.
I have been binge watching, listening in a loop for days now. It makes my soul smile. I find it technically impressive, but the composition is delicious. This is now on my "Soundtrack To Bliss Playlist". Soaring, powerful, yet sweet, just splendid, Thank You Anika Nilles!

You know, after watching this for years, I noticed some ear candy I never heard before. At 3:11, that groove for a few bars has some solid timing work with the snare hit and ride 1/16th apart. That ride groove is so simple but groovy. That girl has some solid playing chops. 👏

Dayum!!! Sweet groove, great playing. I'm 59 and retired and just started playing drums after playing keyboard most of my life. Makes me want an acoustic set instead of my electronic one. Only good thing about it is I can play through headphones and neighbors won't hear how bad I am!

They are bigger than normal. She uses 15s a lot. She also uses the mapex falcoln pedal. I just got it a few months ago and it's the best pedal I've tried of any.
