The words "tada hitori" in the song are a reference to the 24th episode of Berserk, where Griffith in the original Japanese voiceover said this to Guts, which translates as "you and you alone". An incredible reference!
The Japanese sample is pulled from Berserk episode 24 when Griffith reminisces on his friendship with Guts during the eclipse. Played this song back as soon as I remembered I've heard it from Code Orange
4. YOU AND YOU ALONE Jami: “It’s just a reflection on bitterness and anger towards people that you feel put you in a corner and almost turn you into the worst version of yourself. I feel like the record’s a journey of looking at stuff that you don’t like about yourself and facing it. We as a group, and me as an individual, and the character in the story have a lot of bitterness and frustration at times. So it’s a reflection on that and trying to let it go.” Reba: “It has this super mechanical verse-riff that’s basically started as a sloppy metallic riff that we then took and put through an electronic grinder.”
I love the Clarity in their Guttoral Vocals, i can hear the lyrics without straining my ear for them. Its really great Phonation ontop of a great sound. Love all the creative audio decisions on this Album.
Dude, this album hasn't left the cd player in my car since it came out. I still marvel at how great this album is every now and then. It's my favorite album of the last few years.
Melon brought me here from the Fantano interview, hope you guys get on the road or get more videos up! Start a quarantine tour live on TH-cam be the first to do it. Never would have heard your music without that interview. Reminds me a lot of Underoath who was one of my favorite bands growing up. Vocals remind me of Oceano or something very gravely and instruments hit like old Suicide Silence. I liked their new album before. The production is crazy on this, especially the electronic splashes. Visceral is the term I would use to describe this track.
Took me atleast 3x to listen and... Wow. This is the best by far! I love how they altered with the exchange of drums and singer and just made it work. Awesome album

Dang code orange you have made a song like an embodiment of abyssmal and rip 'n tear boss song and i find it really really cool and i enjoyed listening to it 🔥
This album is better than Forever and I Am King. You could've literally made any song on this album a single because it is so stacked with great songs.
Swallowing the Rabbit Whole goes so hard tho. And even Underneath and Sulfur Surrounding hit hard in their own way, though i can understand why some people might just prefer heavier stuff out of preference.
My only fuss about this band is the random static and/or synth sound they have in their songs, I personally feel they could totally do without but other than that glad I found them. Thanks Corey Taylor
They could but that is the touch that makes this band unique. Its supposed to be chaotic and just... Psychotic. Would not be that without all the noises and samplings.
I get a music boner when Reba comes in with the “NOW ITS ON”, by the fourth time around I am reduced to nothing Also, props to Code Orange for being one of few bands who keeps their comment sections open.

where is this from bro...I'd love to see all the ideas behind the album, is there a source where I can read it all?
"April 4 tour dates"
Me: "are you sure about that?"
John Cena? Is that you?
Three more days!
I like that their experimenting with a different formula. This song digs.
2:32 - 3:06 is the greatest, most dynamic breakdown i have heard in the past 20 years.

"You And You Alone"
You do well under control
You play your part, you know your role
You do best when you're controlled
Now it's on you and you alone
I love the way
You choose to forget our history
It's feeding me
Grooming me for what I need to be
The enemy
Shut your fucking mouth
Commiserate
In memory of self respect, of inner peace
You do well under control
You play your part, you know your role
You do best when you're controlled
Now it's on you and you alone
It's killing me
Every line that you scribble on the page
In trying to be
An amalgamation of everything you've seen
You want to be
Everybody's friend, that makes you weak
You go with flow
You're so in on the joke
So in the know
What you showed me
What you told me
With welled up eyes
What you showed me
It's all ammo
In your demise
Now it's on
On you and on you alone
Now it's on
On you and on you alone
Now it's on
On you and on you alone
Now it's on
On you and on you alone
You do well under control
You play your part, you know your role
You do best when you're controlled
Now it's on you and you alone
That guitar tho.
