1:38 I've heard this in many contexts and never realized it was a pentatonics run. Even though, "I've heard this in many contexts" could've been, like, clue number one, I guess (since pentatonic is missing the committment notes).
There was even a TV station ID (PBS maybe?) which had a circle of 5ths harmony, and they also used that exact run.
Also, I think I heard it in a Sun Ra song, where the singers were sort of droning between 2 notes.
It's weird... it can sound modern, but can also sound retro. Very retro-futuristic, if your LH plays a slow 2 chord vamp while the RH plays the pentatonics run down the circle of 5ths. It reminds me of what the future used to sound like. Okay, now I'm veering into perfume commercial lyrics... anyway, good video.
