I just wanted to let you know that as of now the University of Florida no longer requires the GRE, they talked about it at their open house on Sunday. Your GPA is what gets you a foot in the door.
I love the new intro! And this series! So helpful for knowing what I should be doing when, props for making so much content AND being full time at vet school
I have an Auburn interview on 2/5 but my in state school is UGA. I think only out of state acceptances have gone out for UGA so the rest of us are still patiently (or not so patiently) waiting.
Lots of admissions I’ve spoken with say that the GRE’s, while still required, are not that big of a factor in Vet School admission. One admissions representative mentioned it’s only worth like 4 points of the total 100 points their specific school ‘grades’ applicants on.
This differs between the schools. UC Davis says they only look at 3 things. Accumulative SCIENCE GPA, GRE scores and your grades in your last 67 quarter credits.
I’m a sophomore in college, who has an awful GPA because of my first year... I have almost 150 hours of experience in the field and am trying to broaden that experience to get schools to look past my GPA, and hope that I score high on the GRE... I’m not sure about taking a post-baccalaureate year to boost that though... has anyone ever taken one? Was it worth the money and time to take the extra year?
I'm a freshman at UGA and I'm trying to get into their Vet School after my junior year too, so watching your videos is sooo exciting and relieves some stress lol. I was wondering how you got to shadow veterinarians because I'm finding it kind of difficult to get those 250 required hours in, thanks!
This differs for all schools. UC Davis (my in-state and dream vet school) says in bold letters "Must have a bachelors degree to apply for the vet program". Thats 4 years of school and none less..
I have a question.. I am starting undergrad college in the fall this year to then get my bachelors degree to be accepted into UC Davis in 4 years.. I am super excited like this is all I talk about. lol..sometimes I get down on myself because I'm 26 and I am went to school for professional makeup artistry in all aspects (salon, theater, sfx, hd tv, prosthetics, and high fashion) and I am working in this profession. Well... I don't think its what I enjoy doing for a living as much as I thought. I am extremely connected to animals and always have been into science, medicine, and surgery. I want to help animals and I know for sure I will be more happy doing something that matters and makes me feel accomplished and fulfilled. Not to mention I live in Los Angeles, CA where they make 31% more as a vet annually than the national average. Starting out of school and clinical or an externship could mean $100,000 a year. I feel im already 26..ill be 35 or 36 when I graduate.. is it too late? D: lol Also.. I want 4 kids and I haven't even had my first yet... I was planning to get pregnant next year after I get married and come back from Cancun on honeymoon. :) But this would mean I am in a race against time since after 35 getting pregnant can be hard and also risky.. :( babies are way way top of list for my life as well as a career I love. I am planning to have my first 2 babies while life is a bit more free in undergrad school..I have heard its hard to be pregnant in vet school as there are "fumes in anatomy class you can't be around while pregnant" and also radiology and x rays are dangerous.. I have also heard even breast feeding isn't advisable during vet school as there are things you touch and breathe in..also, not to mention the not being able to take time off for birth and recovery during those 4 crucial years. Ok so, I don't get pregnant in vet school, say I wait til after when im 36.. now I am considered a "high risk pregnancy" for my own health and baby's because of the good egg count being lower.. What do you guys think of my worries? I am sorry for the blabbergraph lol. I want to know basically is it too late to do this since Im 26 and I need 4 kids to feel fulfilled in my own goals? Also, how hard is it to have 2 kids while going through vet school?
Stay Awesome brother. I want to specialize in Animal Behavior because I find it interesting. Could you make a video in regards of any related career paths with Behavior?
I’m getting my CVA in the beginning of this summer will that actually like help get me like more accepted into vet school.......future school Texas A&M
Thank you so much for the optimism 🥺 this is very comforting

These videos are really cool and surprisingly motivating... Would be great if you could post more
I know this is an old video, but UF vet school doesn’t actually require the GRE either!
Can you do a video on letters of recommendation? Like how you go about getting the best letters possible?? Or at least how you did it (of course)
Do international students need to take this GRE exam?
This channel is so great! thank you!!
