Im currently a 4th year vet student and during one of our trimesters we had 6 exams in 5 days and on top of that we needed to do our DVM research project... My brain melted after that
Andrew I really appreciate your inspirational speeches. Going though Vet Tech school is probably nothing compared to Vet school but hearing you reassure me to reach my goals definitely gives me motivation to study for finals. You are a great TH-camr (who deserves WAY more subscribers) and you will be a fantastic future Veterinarian. Keep up the good work :D
That's so great! I'm still in highschool... studying to get past my WACE exams so I can get my ATAR (ranking system in Australia). The minimum requirement is top 2% for veterinary science... I DONT THINK I CAN DO THIS AHHHHH.
I'm only in undergrad and I had 6 cummulative finals this semester..... I died a little inside each day, but we still made it out with a 4.0 lessssgetttittttttt
I love these videos, so nice to see other vet student are going through the same grind as I am. I’m at vet school in Australia and just finished my first year (as long as I passed my final exams), hope your final exams went well
Really appreciating this right now! I'm in my 4th year of vet school, currently revising as in 3 weeks time I have 11 exams in the space of 1.5 weeks! 😓
Dammit I wish I watched this sooner, I just finished my final of 7 EXAMS (I am 3rd year vet student in NZ) - almost killed me! Now the wait for results to ensure I don't have to sit supplementary exams... I'd love to do a vlog about vet school like you do!
I literally was just thinking of trying to find a vet student youtuber and here you are 😂 I actually wanted to go UGA for vet school and these videos help so much plus your so energetic and straightforward please keep doing these ❤❤👌 wish you luck on your finales and studies 👍
As far as actually in vet school, just pass. The specific GPA you need to stay off academic probation depends on the school. Atlantic Veterinary College has a banner in the student lounge that says "C=DVM"
Im a vet student from Germany and im 1 week into the 3rd semester which is also known as the semester from hell. Starting in 2 weeks I will have 1-3 quizzes and/or oral exams every week, in 2 weeks I’ll have an anatomy and biochemistry quiz on the same day and physiology the next. And it’s not multiple choice so there’s no guessing, especially with biochem u have to know every little thing or they’ll get hung up on a tiny detail and fail you. I’m still motivated right now but I don’t think it’ll last very long lol
I am currently in my first year of vet school, my exams are coming up and I feel exactly the same 😂 it's kinda helping to see that it's not only like this at my uni but that it's just a vet school thing
Totally unrelated to the topic of the video but you are very good at editing! I'm only a freshman in high school but I know for sure that I want to be the vet! Your videos help me to see what vet schools are like and see if it is what I really want to put myself though! Thank you for uploading for the viewers! -a viewer from MA
Are your finals early this semester or are they always in november? Mine are not until the second week of december, and have 5 in a row. Medicine I -> Exotics -> Surgery I -> Therio -> Food Animal. It is going to be a wonderful week. Your youtube videos have been very interesting as I am also a 3rd year at Kansas State.
We have a core period of classes, then a lighter elective period. That was the end of our core classes, and our elective classes go until around mid December
Interesting most of our electives are worthless and are just necessary to fulfill the required credits necessary to graduate, but most go throughout the whole semester like our core classes. One thing that is nice is we do not have any tests the two weeks after Thanksgiving in preparation for finals week. Granted we still have Junior Surgery which takes up a lot of our time.
Do Vet schools look closely at how well you did or what classes you took in high school? Or do they mostly focus on how well you did in college? Thanks!
My main goal is to become a veterinarian. I am currently a senior in high school and my parents want me to start off at a community college. Would starting off at a community college then transferring to a 4 year school effect my chances getting into veterinary school? Thank you!
Michael Seguer No it may just take a litte longer if u only do basics. I know some vet schools weight your classes differently based on where you take them so try and do your prerequisites (Bio, chem, animal nutrition, etc) at a university
Literally he makes me not want to go to vet school, not meaning in a mean way but it seems lik the hardest thing ever, I have so many questions for him but I feel like it'll overwhelmingXD rn I'm in the career academy and idek if it'll really help me in vet school
SimsQueen I know he prob wouldn't mind u asking him questions maybe be could do a Q&A video with them because they are prob questions we all have you Kno so it doesn't hurt to ask. But yeah vet school is prob going to be the hardest thing u have been thought but u have to think about the satisfaction and strength you will feel for after doing it and being able to call yourself a doctor and do the job you have always wanted to do
Dominique Stewart yea I hope so! Lol I think about that all the time like how after all this hard work I can be called doctor and that's my truest dream, like I seriously thought about dropping my dream of being a vet after 11 years of always telling myself I'm going to be a vet and I really don't want to give up my dream, so I really hope he can do a Q&A
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for your reply! Makes my day. Another quick question though, are animals electrocuted to death to make fresh cadavers for experiments? I'm a first year Veterinary Medicine student in Taiwan and this issue here seems to be bugging me out...
Im currently a 4th year vet student and during one of our trimesters we had 6 exams in 5 days and on top of that we needed to do our DVM research project... My brain melted after that
So excited to be a veterinary student this helps me know what to expect so thank u

On the next semester, I'm going to have 10 midterm exams in a week
Bless me. #WhyVetStudentsLifeisSofreakinghard
I love your vlogs! I am a biology major seeking to become a veterinarian and you inspire me to not give up. Thanks!!

Congrats Shannon! Finishing your first year is a huge accomplishment 🙌🏻
Another fellow aussie! I'm wanting to get into vet school, got a long way to go, how are you going with it?
Really appreciating this right now! I'm in my 4th year of vet school, currently revising as in 3 weeks time I have 11 exams in the space of 1.5 weeks! 😓
:O
I'm a ways away from vet school, but because of you I'm not as intimidated by it anymore and really think I can get in and become a vet(:
Dammit I wish I watched this sooner, I just finished my final of 7 EXAMS (I am 3rd year vet student in NZ) - almost killed me! Now the wait for results to ensure I don't have to sit supplementary exams... I'd love to do a vlog about vet school like you do!
Congrats Olivia! I'm sure you did great!

This is keeping me sane in my finals week as a vet student too , thanks Andrew :)
Ha ha!!! We had 6 exams/week during vet school🤣
Fourth year vet student from Egypt I wish you all the best 💙
So as a vet student this kinda helps me with motivation
This makes me feel sane, thank you!
How important is your GPA in vet school and what grade is passing? I know you never shoot for just passing but this info is nice to know.
It depends on the university u want to get into!
As far as actually in vet school, just pass. The specific GPA you need to stay off academic probation depends on the school. Atlantic Veterinary College has a banner in the student lounge that says "C=DVM"
If y’all didn’t see, Andrew carved a Mimikyu and I carved a Butterfly 🎃 One of your best videos yet!!! Good job babe :)
Wow, I really needed this, thanks :)
I'm on vacations like everyone else, but I planned on studying before the semester starts again, so
Im a vet student from Germany and im 1 week into the 3rd semester which is also known as the semester from hell. Jonathan Bycroft mine are in january :( so we don't have holidays basically
That sucks. Good luck on your finals. Hopefully you are able to take a little time off from studying.
Do Vet schools look closely at how well you did or what classes you took in high school? Or do they mostly focus on how well you did in college?
Thanks!
Only at your college records
Abby Johanson thank you!
I'm studying to be a vet and I'm in now in the 6th grade. Am I over doing it🤔
Wait i found it, i scrolled past it in the description
yeah i have 22 exams in coming month in our vet school
Good luck man!
Love these vlogs!! Did you ever consider going into medicine? If so, why did you choose Vet school over med school?
Ya Andrew, you could have been a REAL doctor! Why wouldn't chose that?!?!
(Just kidding! Humans are gross)
Not really Robin! I always planned on being a Vet
Can you re-take an exam if you fail?
My main goal is to become a veterinarian. I am currently a senior in high school and my parents want me to start off at a community college. Would starting off at a community college then transferring to a 4 year school effect my chances getting into veterinary school? Thank you!

Hi may I ask how many international students are in your class? Because I've seen some US vet schools not accepting international students.
Vet student can relates 😭😭😭
#accurate

Ay First :) good luck on your EXAM
Just curious, for anatomy labs in the States, does it involve live animal experiments? If it does, how is it carried out?
Anatomy labs are always carried out on cadavers here 👍🏻
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for your reply! Makes my day.
Another quick question though, are animals electrocuted to death to make fresh cadavers for experiments? I'm a first year Veterinary Medicine student in Taiwan and this issue here seems to be bugging me out...
Me
Keep it up
Hopefully this motivation will last all day, I'm pretty sure it won't but.... 😂
