She’s lied and thrown him under the bus and accused him of what she actually did.
This will (hopefully) be a turning point for male domestic abuse victims everywhere. I divorced my ex wife after she was on the phone fighting with her mother, and I was in the door way leading outside smoking a cigarette, and the next thing I know I’m waking up in the floor. She had slammed the door hitting me in the temple knocking me out, my mother was on her way to visit and tried to tell her I screwed up slamming the door and did it to myself which was complete bullshit and she knew it. I left her a few days later, and when we get to court she’d accusing me of all kinds of stuff I never did, and I had to offer her a lot of money to divorce because the judge was siding with her, and even though I had a recording of her taunting me that she would do it again, it ment nothing, because I was a man I was at fault. Justice for Johnny, justice for men everywhere.

Anyone else think that Heard offered to pay her friends a cut of the potential monetary award to get them to support her story? It’s her couple friend’s testimony versus a couple of law enforcement officers that saw Heard directly after the same “incident.” Why would these officers lie and risk losing their jobs/careers saying she wasn’t injured?
These officers have everything to lose and her friends everything to gain if she wins? What makes more sense…. These officers risking their careers and lying when they would gain absolutely nothing…. Or would it make more sense her friends are lying knowing there’s almost no chance they could actually be proven to have perjured themselves and therefore had nothing to lose…. @@purplefanta7142 I think its just as difficult fighting a case like Johnny's because you're stating truth while finding the best rebuttals and back ups for the lies on the other side. They've given a seamless defense to anything thrown their way. Impeccable cross examinations, just the right amount of direct aggression and professionalism. You can tell Johnny did his research when they were choosing a lawyer team.
But I agree, Amber's team has their WORK cut out for them..but don't respect the fact that they've tried to build so much of their case on the fact that he's done drugs...when Amber did plenty of drugs too. Kind of a weak argument point. In fact, I think Amber used way more than Johnny was aware. I think she used alot while he wasn't around BECAUSE I think she was plotting this whole thing for a long time. That's why she made sure to take pictures of him passed out or drunk. I think the picture of him with the ice cream on his lap was staged. It's just a weird picture to take.
She was careful to build a strong point with the drugs, because she didn't have solid, consistent evidence he was physically abusing her.
Sometimes, I wonder if we were watching a trial on how severe of a drug addict he was, instead of figuring out if he was physically abusive. Having a drug problem and being a violent abuser isn't synonymous with one another.
I will say, Rottenborn is not a bad lawyer at all, he knows what he's doing way more than Elaine does.
But the gems that are Johnny's team is how well they've collected evidence to slip Amber up with, cutting down all her flimsy evidence and having everything they need to fight her claims. With all the evidence needed and then some. They've really done a superb job.
I know Johnny will be their favorite client, and I'm sure stay friends with him long after this trial is over. I wish the best for his entire legal team and the trajectory their careers are headed after this trial. There's nowhere to go, but up!

There's also the fact that he wasn't ruled to be a 'wifebeater', but it was instead ruled that the claims made by Amber weren't defamation... which is fair, since defamation is damn hard to prove. Even if Johnny proved she called him an abuser without any proof, if he couldn't prove that she did it out of malice towards him, then the case for defamation still couldn't be won.
In short, Rottenborn better be ready to represent himself against Johnny's lawyers soon, because the Slander he threw around during that closing argument was ridiculous.
Her attorneys are in a very bad situation !! She said she gave them EVERYTHING and it is not her job to show the evidence. She gave them all the pictures of her, her bruises and broken nose.... Either her team will be charged because they would not have exhibited very important documents for the trial or she will be charged for perjury. As it is now unfortunately she will not go to prison and as she has no money, Johnny will not have a penny.

Asking to strike is standard, just like Heard's attorneys tried to dismiss (or something like that) early on. As for the Judge refusing to strike, that's not a surprise either. I think it's a good thing, because to fail to strike could have made the judge appear to be biased. As for proving defamation against Depp, the case appears to be extremely weak. Depp's case against Heard has more evidentiary support than Heard's against Depp. She has to prove Depp was behind the defamation, that the defamation harmed her, that the harm was by malice and intent. That's going to be hard to prove, esp with testimony that nothing in her contracts changed.
They are trying to prove that Waldman writtes those statements in order of Johnny to tarnish AH... It's bullshit, but both case are going on, still, Amber case is not solid enough with the claims and "professional" review. What Johnny's lawyers tried to prove is that statements weren't for attacking AH, but to defend Johnny Depp, the comments attacking her is just Twitter being a shitfest as always

@@tigerlils3910 I'm no attorney; however, I spent a few years working around the field. I'm no expert, I'm only giving my opinion based on what I remember, and some familiarity with legal jargon.
I really have no idea which way this judge is leaning, if at all. She is doing a very good job of appearing impartial and unbiased. I'm only saying that if she had chosen to strike down the case, the attorneys would have claimed she was biased. As the judge pointed out, there were reason to allow the case to go forward. It's not much, but it satisfied the minimum requirements to proceed.
Defamation is not easy to prove. There has to be false claims made by the perpetrator regarding the victim, that does monetary and/or personal harm to the victim, all done with intent and malice. Depp's team have gotten Heard to admit to writing the article, and that it was about Depp (at least in part). They've had expert testimony from people in the business that the article damaged Depp's career. Intent and malice is a bit trickier to prove, it really relies on the jury's interpretation of all the testimony. I believe she had intent and malice, I don't know what the jury believes though. I believe he has a chance of winning, but not a guarantee.
So far, all they have regarding Heard's suit against Depp, is that Depp's attorney may have released information to the media. We know that several experts in the field have said her career was not damaged due to any articles, but instead to her performance, specifically a lack of chemistry with Momoa. While her case met the minimum standards, it's not a strong case at all. Depp has better odds of winning than she does.
I feel like they're going to call for bias and try and get a retrial regardless though right? (Assuming they lose of course). Even with the judge being as fair as she is, ambers laywers have already claimed the judge was bias childishly after the judge overruled/allowed an objection toward them

Some people equate addiction with being a bad person. It's more like it makes you bad at being a person. I have no doubt Amber has hit Johnny a lot more than Johnny ever laid a finger on her, despite his many personal issues, he strikes me as a good man with bad habits. That doesn't make him an abuser, especially when there's plenty of evidence Amber herself has enjoyed or over-enjoyed many of the same substances Johnny has.

Yes, he does not deserve it, but he does have some capability in the choices in his life. Cracking up that the judge denied their attempt to strike her claims of damage like she also did to Amber's team weeks ago, but then immediately after this the DC president came on and proved she wasn't damaged at all by Waldman and Depp and that she still got paid and was still on contract and still in the movie. She experienced no defamation or damage ever. And moving forward her being cut will be due to poor chemistry and her awful behavior exposed in court. And the defamation she's experiencing now is strictly due to her and her audio and lies. For once, she needs to take responsibility. No one knew who would Waldman was. Everyone turned on her because of her own lies, audio and behavior.

Judge cant strike amber counter as they would be a waste of the jury's time and make it highlight her as guilty. It would also make it 10x easier for Amber team to appeal unlike a jury.
By the court denying counter suit to be strike out, AH’s career is basically over- first by dragging the Aquaman movie brand name to court , then the Warner studio association complete with subsequent Studio Executive needing to testify in the counter suit case. I initially had no interest in the goings on of either jd or ah.. like many I allowed myself to be pulled into these proceedings. The evidence presented in this case shows clearly she was the abuser and there's definitely something not right with her on a deep level

Judges would prefer to have the jury decide the issue rather than the judge doing it unless it is completely an issue of law rather than requiring some interpretation of facts.

It’s insane. I’ll have to dig up my old notes but off the top of my head, there were several links between judge and Heard and judge was expected to recuse himself from the case. Directly after the case, the judge retired. There’s no proof it was forced but there is zero indications he had any plans on retirement prior to trial. The actual facts of the case involving the judge are actually shocking

one such instance that I found particularly funny was when the jury was shown a picture of Depp's bruised face and amber says "that picture was photoshopped" as if anybody in the court could believe it and now with the fake photos as well its even more shocking she would say such blatant lies. I mean she isn't even trying to hide it.
Out of the dozens of pictures that were submitted into evidence. the only picture to support Depp's injured face was conveniently "photoshopped" and yet all of ambers pictures are completely real despite having clear contradictions with her testimony such as her face NOT being bruised after testifying that on that day ( or the day before, I forget) she had been punched in the face while Depp was wearing "big chunky rings" on each finger to the point she lost count, and yet the picture after that incident shows her arm with a small 'bruise' and her face being spotless... not to mention the fact that she claimed to use a product that didn't exist at the time of some of her incidents, and I very much doubt that Amber and her team are smart enough to make a time machine.
