Women in Architecture: Dr Hina Zia

This video is a part of a study on, 'Role of Gender in shaping the Built Environment: a Case study of Women Architects in India', is carried out by Dr. Mansee Bal Bhargava through Eco Development and Research Cell, a not for profit initiative, of the Environmental Design Consultants Ahmedabad. The aim is to Celebrate the Role of Women in shaping the Built Environment. The objective is to document, disseminate and understand the journey of women from practice, research and education those who started with architecture background. Through the biographical study, the intention is to, acknowledge the contribution of women in the profession; bring forth the critical points that needs to be addressed at individual, institutional and societal level as what makes or breaks or tweaks the career of women in architecture in India.
In this video, Dr Hina Zia, Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Architecture and Ekistics at Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University in New Delhi, shares her experiential journey. Hina is from Delhi.
