I saw the news that John Lewis had died, and I was heartbroken for his monkey world family as well as his own! This loss will be a significant one. I'm grateful to have witnessed his dedication and knowledge to every primate he came in contact with. He seemed to be a Wonderful human being. I'm sure he will be missed!
He passed 4 years ago..
He passed sometime back
Because MW episodes are not of current events, I did some googling last year and discovered that John had died. How much I love Monkey World staff was obvious as I sat at my computer and cried. I cry whenever one of the apes or monkeys dies, but John? That was an entirely different level of grief for me. The next episode will be a heartbreaker. I feel like MW staff and all of us who are fans are family. We will be grieving alone, but together. Much love from me here on Vancouver Island.
I found out about his passing just a few months after it happened. It caused my heart pain every time I watched an episode of Monkey World seeing him and knowing that he was no longer here. I've been dreading the episode that breaks the news. He also worked with big cats, so that's a whole other group of people affected by his untimely passing. He was such an incredible human. He will be so greatly missed by all walks of life. ❤
💔
I know these episodes are a little behind and this was a few years ago I would still like to say Long live John and Jim's Legacies and memory! They both have done more than 95% of this worlds population to help in wildlife conservation. They're both such kind and tender souls and they have touched so many people across the globe. I've learned so much from this show and I'm sure many others here have as well. Thank you Jim and John! Thank you Allison and everyone at Monkey World for everything you do for these animals, I appreciate the work you do to educate, conserve and care for these animals that come to you from these unfortunate and sometimes horrendous situations in life that lead them there to Monkey World.
I didn't know Vet John Lewis, but when I saw the news that he had died it broke my heart. Watching these new episodes with him in them has been hard, knowing he was no longer with us. I'm glad they are going to do a tribute episode.
So sorry to hear about John. My thoughts and prayers go to Monkey World, his family, the team, the primates and all those across the globe that he impacted and helped over the years. The world lost a wonderful caring man and vet. Many lives were saved by this man and now he will join those that were lost in a kingdom in Heaven. Rest in peace Vet John Lewis. May the Lord bless you and watch after you just as you did all those lives.
I watched Alison's announcement on Monkey World official You Tube page. She was absolutely heart broken. I didn't even know him but she had me in tears. He was a soft spoken, caring giant of a man and is a loss to the world. I will be watching the next episode with tissues in hand.
I missed that and can't seem to find it?
❤My heart aches for the loss of John Lewis. He will, of course live on in all these fantastic videos. What a wonderful person! May God comfort him in heaven and May all find some healing in knowing his memory and hours of countless work will never be forgotten! 🙏🔥❤️✝️🛐
Wonderful to have my favourite entertainment back. We've missed everything and everyone Monkey World. Fare thee well John😢. Thanks for the memories you bequeathed to us. My sympathies to Allison and the whole Dorset Sanctuary fraternity.
I am so very sorry for the loss of such wonderful person who was dedicated to all of the animals. All of the people he worked with and his family and the animals are in my prayers.
The video I've been dreading for a while now will be next. Monkey World will go on, but the loss of Dr Lewis will never be forgotten. He was such a caring man and part of the team. RIP Dr John Lewis
Veterinarian John Lewis will be missed by many I did a little reading on him and yes while he did so much for our friends at Monkey World he also has done so much more around the world he has tought many other Veterinarians I believe
( it's been awhile since reading about him) he specialized in tigers and something else . I think he started a organization for tigers . I'm definitely not doing him justice here. Honestly what I read he has done ,started ,joined so many different things to help animals and he was very respected ,looked up to and sought after for his talent and knowledge. Rest in peace John Lewis I pray you are in the arms of Jesus Christ now happy and healthy 🙏
I am so enamored of your devotion to these magnificent beings. Thank you Monkey World for the humanity. xoxo
