    Built this last week and used it for about 100 shelves. Birch plywood banded with 5/16" poplar, 5/8 router bit.
    Have cobbled together a number of versions of this tool in the past, but this ones a keeper. Simple and well thought out. Works great!
    Also my first adventure with Sketchup.

    Many thanks. I built one of these and added plastic laminate to the two faces of the tool that run on the plywood being edged. Glides very nicely! This is a FANTASTIC TOOL!!! Thanks again!!

    Great work as always John. After working at an office furniture manufacture and edge banding thousands of desktops and trimming them with a sharpened putty knife taped to a file, I have no desire to edge band anything for a few eons. (lol)

    Does the fence adjust up and down? If so, seems like it might make a good dowel hole jig also with a small mod.

    • @troymeredith521
      @troymeredith521 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Read the build article. The pictures have descriptions on how it was it built and after reading it, there is only enough play to fit certain size router bits. I think the problem with an adjustable fence is movement. You would probably need a locking point on the side to assist keeping it firmly in place, so it may be possible with some modifications.

    • @JohnHeisz
      @JohnHeisz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It would really need more adjustability and also a plunge feature. I have been thinking about designing one (that's why I bought the router in the first place), but haven't found the time yet.
