You can actually hit the same streak bonus more than once.
If you knew that already, there will still be tips to help you double up on those bonuses more often so make sure you stick around.
If you didn’t know about doubling up on ride streak bonuses and streak zone bonuses, here’s a quick breakdown on how they work.
Streak bonuses are straight forward.
You start a streak by accepting your first ride during the bonus time, you give back to back rides and then you get your bonus after finishing the last ride.
Streak zones have a little more nuance to it.
With Streak Zones, you have to either start in the designated area or get your first ride from the designated area.
Any rides that happen after that will count towards your bonus even if it’s outside of the zone.
That also includes when you double up on your bonuses.
That means if you follow the tips I’m going to lay out later in this video, you’ll be able to hit the streak bonus twice, or more, while only having to be in the zone once.
I’ve tested and proved this to be true.
Let’s look at one of my real world examples.
It’s four-twenty-two AM and I just finished dropping a passenger off at the airport when I noticed that there’s a five AM zone bonus nearby.
The first thing I do is go offline so that I put myself in a position to double up on streak bonuses.
I noticed that I have enough time to fill my tank, get some food and use the bathroom in order to make sure that I take away anything that can get in the way of completing the streak bonus.
You have to learn to use your time wisely.
I get deep inside the zone territory and decide to go online at four fifty four.
Because this area is an inner city area, I know that it’s likely that I will get a ride that’s 3-5 minutes away.
If I were at home I would go online around four fifty-two instead, since it normally takes me about eight minutes to reach the passenger.
These are some strategies you want to keep in mind.
My first ride popped up as soon as I went online at four fifty four and the destination is five minutes away.
If I get there before five AM, it won’t start the streak bonus.
So the solution to this is to take your time.
Drive below the speed limit
be double cautious at stop signs.
Let that yellow light turn red.
Do whatever it takes to get there after the time period, because if you don’t, using this real world example, the ride streak wouldn't start until your next ride which would come after you spend eighteen minutes dropping off the current passenger.
That would probably take away all your chances of doubling up on streak bonuses.
That’s not what we want.
Thanks to my strategy, I ended up reaching the passenger at five o’ one.
After I drop off my first passenger and pick up the second passenger, I confirm that my streak was started by the first passenger by selecting the last ride option.
If your streak was started, it’ll give you a warning letting you know that you have a streak bonus pending and that you should stay online to earn that extra twenty-one dollars.
Hit stay online of course.
As I pick up the third passenger, you can see that I get paid for the streak bonus and it tells me right there that I should keep driving to start another streak.
The problem is, it’s five thirty-nine AM, it’ll take me eight minutes to drop off my third passenger by five forty eight AM.
Then it will take me five minutes to reach the passenger by five fifty-three am.
Except there really is no problem because the next ride streak actually started once the ride was added to the queue!
So even if I were to be late and picked up the passenger after six am, which is outside the streak time, it will still count as long as the ride was added to the queue before the streak time ended. - บันเทิง

@@joelong3071 I'm following foe the most part. Please explain the double surging in more detail. You mean grab someone from uber. But have someone else on lyft waiting. That could make them wait for 30 minutes sometimes to drop-off and come back. Also is stopping one app for a while until you get a promotion like do 15 rides make +200 a good idea?
@@Killeqcarl 15 ride $200 is not goods if I have 15 at lease $450 to $500 I don't drive without surge...go to the airport load up 2 app Uber and Lyft , Uber surge at the airport cannot leave the yard but Lyft surge you could so for example load up 2 apps leave the airport with Uber pause Lyft when you drop off on Uber turn off Uber then on Lyft because you already pause Lyft turn back on the Lyft surge is there after you use Lyft go back to airport load up again keep on repeating, there also a trick that you cancel as many rife as you can without hurting you rating
@@joelong3071 thanks again for getting back to me dude. So first, the 15 rides for plus 200 is a bonus i was referring to. Such as do ten rides make and extra 90 or 75. I make much more than that, probs 400 to 500 on 15 rides like you said. And now I'm following. So cut on both apps while its surging. Then pause one, but the surge won't go away for lyft. What is the correct way to pause it and make sure you get double surge with the two apps. Do you force stop the app, do you just go offline? This is really useful information.

Facts I messed this up yesterday. I stopped and the app told me. great vid
Lyft finds ways to cheat you out of your money. A couple of days ago I ended a ride 5 minutes into the start of a streak zone and about 20 minutes away. I went offline so that I wouldn't get rides taking me away from the streak zone and took a quick bathroom break. I entered the zone with about 30 minutes left and went online. I immediately was offered a ride which was about 8 minutes away and outside the zone. I accepted and headed over there. While on my way (and outside the zone) Lyft changed passengers on me and rerouted me. When I picked up my new passenger I was still outside the zone. After completing three rides, I had not received the bonus I called the help line to ask why not, I was simply told that my rides didn't qualify. I asked to talk to a supervisor, that person was unavailable so we communicated by email. Basically I was told that my rides didn't qualify and tough luck. Next time I start a streak in a streak zone, if they change my passenger while I'm outside the zone, I will turn on last ride in the app, cancel the new ride, and return to inside the zone and go online. That whole system doesn't benefit Lyft, doesn't benefit the passengers and is an annoyance for me. But I won't let them cheat me this way again. (Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...).
Screw Lyft. I'm only a couple of weeks in and already fed up with them.
This has happened to me twice and yep, all they say is that there will be more bonuses in the future so don’t worry 😒

@shaunablake347 I was scared when I first started. It took me 3 months to convince myself that I will be ok. My boyfriend has a cab service and he went to NY back in March and one night he called me asking if I would pick up someone. That night after I dropped off the passenger. I turned my lyft app on and being driving since.
I thought I was alone in this Lyft bafoonary. I feel like there’s someone rationing the rides out. And these streak zones I find to be a waste. I stayed in a streak zone for a whole hour and did not get a job.
Same here. I woke up early for this. And another one was 4pm rush hour. I was in a zone and they never gave me a ride for a full hour! Las Vegas

You're lucky to live in a city that has $15, $18, and $21 streak bonuses. We use to have those, but I live in Phoenix, AZ, and the streaks now are $3, $6, and $9. I have been using the area filter, and mine has been set at 10 miles, maybe I'll try to set it at 5 miles. Thanks for the nice video.

Can I order a Lyft/Uber sign from somewhere other than them? They do not offer in Ohio
Has anybody else noticed that that third ride is ridiculously far away, so, of course you decline and thereby you have lost the bonus. Nowadays I accept that ridiculous third ride, but don’t move. After a while the customer cancels and I’m still in the game, even if the next ride comes in an unqualifying time, like the following hour. Lyft also takes away rides and gives them to others that ended up closer, even after you’ve driven miles to that pickup destination. Lyft will also send you back to where you came from. In these respects Uber is better and a lot of drivers have figured that out. Nowadays I find tens of Ubers at the airport holding area and only a few Lyfts.

I only been with Lyft a couple of weeks and I can already see that it sucks. I don't think I will stick around long. Uber is a lot better as far as I can tell.

So, I noticed the dropoff location of your first passenger was outside the streak zone, but the route passed through the zone and Lyft counted that as the streak bonus. Is my image correct?
As long as the first ride is either in the zone or the driver is in the zone, it'll still trigger the bonus.
Lyft streak zones are a scam. I live in the Atlanta area. I normally 90% of the time use to do double streaks all the time. Now because of streak zones where you have to pick a first ride in the zone in order to get a streak bonus. I worked 12 hours from 10-11 hours last night. I did 6 streaks last night 3 $18 ones, 2 $15 ones and one $9 streak. I just made $260 doing all the streaks because it was zone streaks. Now if it was regular streaks then I would have made around $400 because I would have been doing double streaks. Double streaks is now practically impossible with new streak zones. They are just falsely luring in drivers by showing multiple streaks going in your area but they are all streak zones. Streak zones is a scam. I am not falling for it again. I will only work now if they ride guarantees that sit. Going forward, I am not falling for that streak scam again. Drivers beware.

How do you stay energized and alert when doing 12hr shift? I’m struggling. when I start to feel drowsy I don’t push it, especially at night.
I try to sleep right before I go driving. I try to eat every 2-4 hours and take a short walk. I might re-up on some coffee if I'm pushing extra hard and need 2-3 more hours.
Sometimes I take a 2 hour nap in the car.
I have been trying to find out if you are in a ride with one in the queue and a streak ZONE bonus starts, will I earn it if I keep doing my queue or do I need to stop it and drive to a ZONE? I live in Ohio and experience all the Lyft trickery too.
If you start in the zone, it doesn't matter where your next rides come from even if you double up on that streak bonuses!
@@FutureRideshareMillionaire tyvm for reply. I mean if you’re already in a trip, have another one in the queue but are not in the zone; can you still earn the streak zone bonus? Someone told me that they do. I always sign off and drive to a zone usually 20 minutes away. Sometimes I get lucky and they start right where I live but rarely. So it would be great to be able to just keep driving with the trips they add and get the bonus without having to drive too a zone. I hope I have explained this right. Not used to this. @@aquariuslove5802 if you're not in the zone when it starts, then your pick up would have to be in the zone to get it. So it's still possible but it's harder to know if your pick up is in the zone unless you know your city well enough to tell.
I would say it's more effective to plan ahead. I set alarms on my phone 15 minutes before a streak zone happens and I'll head there.
You can even plan more ahead by setting a destination filter 30-60 mins ahead of time so that you only get rides that take you to the zone OR if you are already In the zone you can set a destination filter to keep you in a 5 mile radius of the zone so that when it hits, you're already there.
Keep in mind using destination filters when it's slow will limit the type of rides you get so be super intentional about them.
Under the right circumstances, using the radius filter will help you get short rides increasing the likeliness of hitting the bonuses multiple times.
The tactics I just shared with you, I learned after I made this video so I'll make a new video soon breaking all of that down.

While taking passengers, I'm getting hits for new rides in the middle of my drive.
Does that affect my streak and do I get dinged for declining all those rides??
As a Lyft driver, you'll want to cancel additional rides Before you end your current ride and then it won't ding your stats.
For Uber, it will ding your stats no matter what.

Don't mean to offend but, I'm questioning if you are paid by Lyft to "advertise" and make it appealing working Lyft. I've noticed that many times during "streak bonuses", or at least it appears this way, the Lyft app algorithm purposely sends you to longer rides so that the streaks aren't doubled up or easily completed. This has happened almost every single time I have a streak bonus. One ride that will throw off the chance of you "doubling" up or even sometimes interfering with another bonus if there are back to back hourly bonuses.
I've recently noticed that since gas prices were lowered here in Los Angeles, Lyft has done away with many of the bonuses or money guarantees and streak bonuses have been M.I.A. for two weeks now. Really disappointed and considering seeking employment doing something else. Not worth it.

You're not wrong. The algorithm does try to minimize only getting 1 streak. That's where you or at least recently I've tried to cherry pick the first ride in the streak. If it's busy enough don't accept any long rides in the first 5 minutes that are 1. To far away 2. Longer than 10 minute rides. Even if its a minimum ride if the streak amount is $15 or $18 or $21. A minimum ride technically becomes a minimum of about $8 once you complete the streak. You're not always going to get 3 short rides in a row to give you a shot at a 2nd streak. But starting out with a shorter ride in the first 5 minutes will hopefully set you up to do 2 more medium length rides and if the 2nd streak request 1st ride comes in the queue before the hour is over that allows you to start a 2nd streak. Because only the very 1st streak ride has to start or be accepted once the streak hour begins.

Is a ride bonus and streak bonus the same thing?
Nope. A ride bonus is a bonus given for completing a large amount of rides over a few days and a streak bonus is over the course of an hour.
Why I did not have bonus ? I have no idea does it relate to my acceptance rate ?

If you're starting a 2nd streak at the end of the bonus hour, and you're heading to pick up the rider, and it passes the end of the bonus , they can switch the rider which will screw you out of the second bonus 😡. I hate the ole switcheroo

The 3 streak bonus is BS. One ride is always a curve ball like a bad crime ridden neighborhood. New car not a public transit service for people stupid enough not to own a car. The streaks are rigged. This was possible in the past but they intentionally give you long rides and even when i cancel the first trip till i get a short one the last 2 are eother extremely long or they give me a realy short second trip make the last long or they give you 3 short trips and take you out of the streak zone. The streak zone is what really causes this to not wprk and i know for a facy it's rigged because i would drive 2 hours prior to the start of the streak and get 5 consecutive short rides and they are all qued then when the treak starts none of my rides are qued and i have tp wait 10-15 minutes for the next ride.

25 rides and only 4 with tips!! You are definitely doing something wrong!!! I average over 50% minimum of my rides with tips and I average a 20% tip percentage. - you are leaving big money on the table!!!! This is actually shocking!!!
During the tourist season, I make more in tips. During the off-season it's mostly college students.
I live in a college town. so "college students" still tip. There are 65000 college students in my town...if your not making at least 15% of your income from tips you are doing something terrible wrong
