- We FINALLY traveled to Thailand for the first time!! Thailand has been our #1 bucket list destination for years, we even had tickets to visit in March 2020 (but you all know what happened instead 😩).
On this trip, we were lucky enough to meet with our friends for a few hours, including a Bangkokian who showed us around and gave us some local knowledge! We visited the famous Wat Arun, traveled by Tuk Tuk, and tried real Thai food for the first time!
So far we are loving Thailand and we cant wait to explore more! :D

Legend states that when King Taksin, at the time Ayutthaya mandarin, led some troops to break the Burmese siege of Ayutthaya and arrived at this old temple at dawn, so the temple was then named Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). After Ayutthaya fell after one-year siege, he led troops from Chanthaburi province to expel the occupied Burmese troops in Ayutthaya. Then he proclaimed himself King and moved the capital from Ayutthaya to Thonburi and built a royal palace adjacent to Wat Arun and this temple then became the Royal Temple within the Palace domain in line with Ayutthaya tradition. The same could be said about King Rama I when he moved the capital from Thonburi across the Chao Phraya River and built Emerald Buddha Temple within the Grand Palace. When Thonburi was still a distinct province before it was dissolved to form Bangkok metropolis about 50 years ago, Thonburi's symbol was Phra Prang (Stupa) of this temple.

In Thailand , we usually pay with ThaiPromtPay system (it's kind of cashless transctions for Thais) , so most of Thai people didn't carry a hard cash anymore.(or carry just a little)
Oh we didn’t know that!! Sounds really convenient. We did later figure out how to get our card hooked up to grab, it was a problem with our bank!

On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, it's recommended to visit Chiang Mai. It's very good. I'm a Thai person. I recommend staying in the middle of the city. Chiang Mai has many temples and walking markets.
Chiang Mai we will definitely have to visit when we come back! We went south this time to go diving, but have heard the North is beautiful too!

Recommended to visit the ancient city. It's a big museum. Architectural gathering across the country is in Samut Prakan. It is recommended to go in the morning (it's not too hot) because it takes 3-4 hours or a whole day to visit all over the place.
We definitely have more of Thailand that we need to see! Thank you for the tips!

I want you to travel to other provinces. The atmosphere will be very different. Especially in the northeastern region You will truly experience nature.
We went south for the diving this time!! But we’re definitely going to come back one day! Do you have any national parks you recommend in the northeast?
Isaan region has many attractions because it is the largest region in Thailand. If you want to bathe with elephants, you must go to Surin. If you like ancient sites, you must visit Buriram Province. But I highly recommend going to Nong Khai.
Nong Khai is the 7th most livable city in the world you should experience when you come to Thailand.
