This podcast is insane because individually every youtuber here is massively influential on the platform. And yet it still feels like a small community podcast! it’s wild i love it!

@sammyblaze4234 Do you really believe that the kids are left Alone with the Mars Rover? i literally screamed the moment i saw Nigel before realizing that he would only be there in this episode gotta wait 6 more months or longer for his appearance again
Could be years.. He's still in prison for corporate espionage. Maybe with good behavior they'll allow a visitation again, but not if he keeps trying to make drugs out of urine.
I love that Nigel, youtube's premier piss chemist, had the audacity to drop a "not that I've had to do it that often" about peeing in empty Gatorade bottles.
Will you totally gotta get technology connections on saftey third. You can learn all his dad jokes for potato. He’s unapologetic dorkyness is absolutely amazing. Love his channel.
This one broke me way more than any other episode I think Mark seeming like he's responsible makes Will Kevin and Allen think that mark will keep them on track, but instead it just led to more intrusive thoughts coming out.
The mixing was actually very clever with Nigel and Kevin's mic on the left ear as well as Mark's, and Allan's mic and Will's on the right so yoi could understand all 3 convos at once
As for the purposefully getting stung by wasps and bees, it's already been done. The Justin Schmidt pain index, dude literally got stung by as many things as possible to make table of pain.
That sound scape of everyone talking should be your intro. The panning sounded amazing in my home theatre system. It reminded me of the Inuit throat singing panned left and right in episode 7 of Devs. You guys rock.
I feel like Will is itching for more. Look at 42:50, after talking about how current toys don't challenge kids, it's like he's stuck in a world where he almost doesn't understand why people don't understand where he's at. We need more creative people like this group to get together and talk, it's good all around.
I have an Amana Radarange household kitchen microwave that works exactly like the microwave Nigel is describing at 21:20. It doesn't have a carousel that spins. Instead it has a fan like deflector at the top (behind a plastic cover) that spreads the microwaves out randomly. It works fantastic, and I wish they still made consumer microwaves like it. The door handle broke, but I won't get rid of it because no regular microwave could ever come close to replacing it.
This episode felt different with Mark there. It seemed like he was on the edge from wanting to be responsible to wanting to join in and go off the rails. I enjoyed it.
We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor is exactly what you were talking about in the cryogenic section. Frozen engineer comes back to life as a slave AI, to become a von Neumann probe.
I like listening to smart people talk. I don't understand some of it, but it's nice to know that there are kind, smart people out there doing good for us normal folk.
Wow, after watching this youtube suggested "Flushing a 1981 American standard cadet toilet" for me. I guess the algorithm has chosen a category for this podcast.
Yeah, the other reason there are hot-spots in microwave ovens is that the different food stuffs are molecularly different and absorb the energy more or less. For example, ice doesn't absorb much, water a lot, so as soon as a spot begins melting that area will heat up even more.
I found this out when I came in from a work out and the water was off, so I tried to microwave ice cubes to get water to drink. It didn’t work and I died.
26:30 : 3 Months old but I'm here so, it depends on if you're asking how magnetic fields work or how permanent magnets work. Monopoles are theoretically possible but have never been observed, this also applies to particles like electrons and atoms, meaning in isolation each electron can be viewed as a tiny actually permanent magnet with a south and north pole. These "molecular magnets" are created through the particles latent charge and it's "spin", moving charge creates magnetic fields etc. Normally atomic or crystal structure cause interference of some kind hiding any obvious attraction, ferrous metals being the strange exception. When placed in a powerful magnetic field all the electrons are forced to align with that field, this causes positive interference leading to a macroscopic quantum effect. This is also why they're not truly permanent, the electrons will never lose their spin or charge but they will normalize overtime just from entropy building for any number of reasons. Most hair won't stay perfectly straight, even if you have hair straight hair it needs brushed occasionally or it gets messy. Magnets work the same way, their electrons rarely like to stay straight.

I think we can all agree that the special guest for this episode is Nigel.
They should make Nigel a permanent member
No Canadians allowed, Californian is already a step too far. Nah, I love Nigel. And Canada... I guess.
Which one is that? The lady with the long hair?
Nigel said early on that he wanted to be a regular guest rather than a host. Maybe he chose this.

I view the multi-conversation segments as a "choose your own adventure" story: You just pick one audio to listen in. Adds rewatch value lol
Technology Connections will not be sad. But Mark Rober would be better for watching them, and he’s great. 😊

That would be awesome, along with his wife
“Magnets how do they work?” What a throwback! I need to watch that music video again.

thank you for the surround sound experience. i am listening to this on left and right speakers and its beautiful.
