I have been making my own soaps for years! The stuff that’s on the shelves is too harsh for our skin and is more of a detergent, something that is not for our faces and bodies. Shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, olive oil, tallow, almond oil are just some of the healthy fats I may use in a bath product. Essential oils, the essence of plants, provide a pleasant and purposeful aroma to your bath experience and I use it to scent soaps. Though a handmade bar of soap is more costly than the detergent bars, the experience and impact is unmatchable. Love the skin your in!

A year ago I bought some shampoo, strongly recommended for dry hair. After reading the ingredients (no one that I could recognize as being 'human') I use it for washing my new car. It works great on the car, leaves a fatty layer that protects its 'skin' for a good while!

I never use soap of any kind on my face, just splash with very warm water a few time, then rinse with cool water then pat dry. I am 65 and have very few wrinkles. My face is as soft as a baby's bottom. :) Good advice

@@euhdink4501 Just so y'all know: there are various estimates about what percentage of people will respond well to any given cosmetic product, including truly natural products, like olive oil or pure coconut oil soaps. A best guess is that any one product will prove satisfactory to about 1/3 of the people who try it; this is due to the genetic and environmental differences among peoples. The olive oil soap, for example, while it may be very soothing to your skin, may prove to be drying to someone else. They in turn may like the coconut oil soap, but your experience could be just the opposite! Just to make things even more complicated, olive oil soap made from olives in Greece may be gentle to someone but when made with Spanish oil, may seem to be irritating. I’m checking your video out on soap Can we have a series on beauty care. Proper way to exfoliate face and body. What are natural ways to take care of the exterior (face and body), sunscreens, oils, moisturizers, for oil or dry skin, what not to take or to look out for - didn’t know perfume/ fragrance is a cute name for chemicals I’d love a whole breakdown because I’m sure there’s more for us to learn
I use hand made black soap from Ghana! I only use it once in a blue moon on my face but I don't have any issues using it on my body! No fragrance at all,
You can also use beef tallow to cleanse. Fancy Farm makes bar soaps and a body rub out of beef tallow and it softens my dry elbows and made them so smooth
I make my own fragrant free soap from fat and lye. I also don't bathe on a daily basis to improve the natural oils that protect my skin. I don't use a deodorant, but after bathing, I use an ethanol hand disininfectant to minimize the bacteria under my arms, this has worked better for me very well.

I work in a hospital and thanks to Covid the hospital switched over to antibacterial soap. Numerous people began having problems with skin rashes, myself included. I try to use the hand sanitizer mostly and wash my hands when it is necessary. I use a lotion called Gloves in a bottle. Maybe not the best but helps to manage the skin damage. Thank you Dr Berg for the work you do. 👏👏
Doctor bird you are so right about these bars of soap. I recently purchased a bar of Irish Spring soap. It was not my first choice but because of the store that I was in, it was the most economical at the time. Boy, I tell you, was I ever so sorry after using it. It is definitely not the same sopes I remember years ago. It broke me out and cause the rash to appear around my neck. It almost reminds me of eczema. If I did not know any better, I would swear that's what it is. I immediately went out and bought triple milled, cold pressed soaps as well as dr. Bronner's liquid Castile soap. Won't make this mistake ever again😟
Hi! This is how I wash my face/ remove the little makeup I very occasionally wear. I do it all in bed! First, I take grape seed oil, apply it liberally to a soft paper towel, and cleanse my face. If I'm wearing any makeup, I start with my eyes, then cleanse the rest of my face. Second, I use Tuck's medicated wipes for hemorrhoids ( 🤣), and gently wipe away the left over oil, dirt/ makeup. I do this until there are no traces of gunk. Third, I reapply the grape seed oil. My skin absolutely loves it! It absorbs readily, improving the tone, evening out color... It works so well! I'm also a retired cosmetologist. Is this Dr Berg approved? As you know, the Tucks are just witch hazel... I'm almost 50, but look more like I'm in my 30s. I do have substantial chemical sensitivities due to Lyme Disease that I've had so long, treatment isn't a viable option. My skin looks and feels so good, though!
Thank you Dr Berg for this helpful information. I stopped using soap on my face and the chronic extra dry skin on my face cleared within days. Gram Flour is one of the most common and effective alternatives for skincare in India.
One of the first things I did, after being diagnosed with spinal arthritis, some 5 years ago, was to stop using any commercial products, on my skin. I remember from school that the skin is an organ. So, anything put on the skin, can go through it. I make my own soap, & shampoo bar, as well as foaming hand wash. It's not as hard as you might think. My skin & hair is far healthier now. Great video, Dr. B.

I was reading this book on habits and it talks about the fact that companies make soap and toothpaste lather/foam on purpose because consumers want feedback that the products are working, and they buy more because that feedback promotes a habit loop in the consumers minds.
Thank you Dr. Berg. Very informative!! My skin has not come NEAR commercial bar soap in at least two decades. Once a person makes a habit of reading the ingredients (hopefully) he or she will learn which products (and foods) to steer clear of and which ones are healthy/beneficial. ❤🙏
Thank-you Dr Berg, for your informative video/channel. I've only just discovered you!!! 🙂 Am a brand new subscriber from Australia, who developed Inflammatory Rosacea out of nowhere 2yrs ago. Unfortunately, ever since, I've had recurring flare-up's ever since!!! 😔 I am aware of my "triggers" (heat, humidity, stress, certain alcohol, low immune system, not eating/sleeping properly, etc). I also have had to totally change my skincare products that I use for my face...cleanser, toner, moisturiser, sunscreen, foundation. Only antibiotics and eye drops will control a flare-up now, once it gets or goes past a certain point. My daughter also has sensitive skin, like me, and is prone to a little bit of a dermatitis-type of a rash in winter when it's cold. I have been using a liquid Goat Soap or something similar for her for many years, based on your recommendations in this video. I'm wondering do you have any advice, r.e Supplements, etc to treat my Inflammotory Rosacea?? I know there are different kinds. I researched it in the American Dermatology Academy (even though I'm Australian!!), so I could understand my condition more and identify which sub-type I have. I am more fortunate than many, whereby my flare-up's, so far, seem to result in redness of my face, soreness, pimply-like break-outs on my nose/forehead/cheeks, soreness in my eyes and hotness all over too. Sometimes, I get a little bit of dry skin around my nasal area. Would appreciate your thoughts/feedback?? One other subject I have a question about is...Sunscreen??? What are the ideal ingrediants they should contain/one's to avoid, etc?? Many thanks if you've made it this far!!! 😁😁😁
Hi Doc, great video again. I started using body lotions on my armpits and norticed that they remain hydrated for days and I barely smell my sweat. Is there anything in these body lotions that would be bad for me?

That's a very good idea man, y can't we do that insteadb
😂😂😂😂
They have those things they call them naps. Take one for 15 minutes.
My fifteen minute naps turn into 2 hours 😂
Wow! Thanks! Happy Mothers Day to all and God bless you Dr.💜💙
I wish I had you as my doctor in uk 🇬🇧
Dr Berg, you please do a video to cure sebhoric dermatitis condition for scalp itchness, flakiness and redness that eventually causes hairfall
Dear Dr. Berg,
*what about Dial Soap brand that often doctors recommend for Acne*
For us it has helped with Acne!
What would you recommend if this soap is not a good one ?
I'm trying to avoid plastic containers. I use bar soap & bar shampoo. I also avoid SLS, thanks to another of your videos. There are soaps without chemicals.
👍 me too.
Thanks Dr Berg. I will have to see what is available here in the Philippines.
Excellent Dr Berg I am an esthetician and I been telling my customers more than 10 years ago the same
Thank you and happy Mother’s Day!
Kiss My Face Olive Oil bar! You can lather it on & leave the lather on for a few minutes to hydrate your skin! It’s my all-time fave!
I’m checking your video out on soap
Can we have a series on beauty care.
No fragrance at all,
Please share something for dark spots on face 🙏🏻
Watch for food colors also!! I used a soap wash only a couple of time my face was feeling sandpaper- ish I looked at ingredients....red 40 !!! ☑️
You can also use beef tallow to cleanse. Fancy Farm makes bar soaps and a body rub out of beef tallow and it softens my dry elbows and made them so smooth
Thanks Dear Dr. Berg for your everyday education
I use colloidal silver soap...such a clean feeling.
Good video. I only use natural bar soap.
We get tallow soap, deodorant, and other products from our Farmers Market. 🐄
I’ve found these ingredients far more in liquid soaps, so prefer bar soaps, but I do try to get ones that are as natural as possible.
Majority of the major soap brands have detergent in them body wash as well. That’s why I use pure cold process soap made by Geneva Pearl Soapery. The triple milk bar is amazing and moisturizing.
My skin care routine for over 30 years - gentle scrub with clean warm washcloth 2x / day then rinse with 1 cap full of apple cider vinegar in a mixing bowl of cold water (splash on for ~1 minute). A high quality hypoallergenic sunscreen in summer. Cold cream for make up removal. Occasionally use coconut oil as a moisturizer and hair treatment. No wrinkles yet.
Essential oils can be incredibly irritating
Happy mother's day doctor God bless you 🙏 🤗
Happy Mother’s Day to your beautiful wife Karen🍀☘️👍
I work in a hospital and thanks to Covid the hospital switched over to antibacterial soap. Numerous people began having problems with skin rashes, myself included.
I try to use the hand sanitizer mostly and wash my hands when it is necessary. I use a lotion called Gloves in a bottle. Maybe not the best but helps to manage the skin damage.
Thank you Dr Berg for the work you do. 👏👏
Stay away from anti bacterial soaps. They are harsh and dry out your skin
My Endocrinologist also says triclosan causes thyroid issues. I dumped it years ago and it improved my low thyroid, even with no Med adjustment.
Thanks for this, my wife has eczema and this will help!
Hi Doctor Berg,
Do you happen to have any recommendations ?
Thank you
Happy Mother’s Day to Dr. Berg’s wife, Karen and thanks from my Florida 🏝🏖
Please make video on hairfall reasons control and remedies
Great advice thank you Dr 👍 from Johannesburg South Africa 👍
Triclosan has also shown to disrupt hormonal activity in men!
@nono ne lavender doesn't disrupt hormones in men.
Hey dr berg big fan you helped me a lot I got a question what’s a healthy safe Supplement to get better sleep and reduce stress
I use no soap on my fase only crème after, thank you Dr . from the Netherland wisch all Motherwell a happy Motherwell day ❤️
What a blessing to the world!!!
Pls how did u make ur own soap?
Good Morning , Dr.Berg 🌞
Thank you so much for this Brilliant Video , Thay are very interesting information and helpful so much , May God sorround you peace , Stay Safe !
🙏 5 / 8 / 2022 🙏
Please we also want a video about natural shampoos that are good for the scalp and samples of them.
I used to use liquid body soap and I experienced dryness and irritation with it.
So I went to natural bar soaps. I find them better 🤔
I use pure tallow bar soap (has a tiny bit of olive oil) on my face. The perfect soap.
i use papaya bar soap during summer,it makes my face clear and lighten my pimple marks, during winter i use facial wash foam.
I was reading this book on habits and it talks about the fact that companies make soap and toothpaste lather/foam on purpose because consumers want feedback that the products are working, and they buy more because that feedback promotes a habit loop in the consumers minds.
Great information Dr. Thanks
Thank you Dr. Berg. Very informative!! My skin has not come NEAR commercial bar soap in at least two decades. Once a person makes a habit of reading the ingredients (hopefully) he or she will learn which products (and foods) to steer clear of and which ones are healthy/beneficial. ❤🙏
That's why I make and teach organic soap making.. great video Dr Berg.. soap can be so effective for the face is made the Artisan way
Hello Dr. Berg! I am passing your videos to others to learn from your wisdom!
So thankful I am able to make my own milk/lard based soap at home.
Thank you so much for knowledge!
As an Indian tradition we do use Green gram powder for cleansing, you can try.
OMG been waiting for a vid from you like this, thank you Dr Berg.
Hi Doc, great video again. I started using body lotions on my armpits and norticed that they remain hydrated for days and I barely smell my sweat. Is there anything in these body lotions that would be bad for me?
Thanks Doctor for your time
I use goats milk soap made by a neardy Amish family. Great stuff!!!
Is it made with lye?
@@jddr555 Im not sure. I'll look and get back to you in a bit.
Dr.berg please make a vidoe on collagen
Dr. Berg, you are looking fit and tan!! Your videos are a godsend and we thank you for doing this !! God bless!!
OMG! Thank youuuuuuuuu!!!! I am going to (1) look at what's in my soap and shampoo and (2) find your products!!!!
Thanks to Make In India initiative, we have a lot of companies who are into sustainable living idea and manufacture chemical free products
Nice 🙂
I have oily skin. I use bar soap on my face. I havent got no bad reaction.
