Heyy!
I would say to leave your hair alone for the first couple months, getting retwists and washes every month and a half or so. Also, ensure you are oiling your scalp regularly. Those tips combined will give it time to grow/retain length, while also increasing the lock process.
My brother didn’t start doing hairstyles (double strand twists, etc.) until after 6 months of being loc’d in. I hope this helps and lmk if you have anymore questions💗
