I’m sure a lot of people are going to come for me but what you are calling new growth is breakage because you are reparting mature locs. Edge control gel will cause build up in your locs. Only use non petroleum products to prevent buildup and non alcohol product to prevent drying. I have locs past my butt and I have cut them 3 times. Been growing my locs for 13 years. Also palm rolling all the way down your loc helps keep them cylinder shaped, it does not cause thinning. I love your hair and results. No shade or hate I just want to help another loc queen. Much love. ❤❤❤😊😊😊
@@shaybaye good clarifying shampoo that I like to use is Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo but in a pinch I will use suave daily clarifying shampoo. I’m 3 months in my loc journey after growing out my hair for two years first, and I’m overdue for a retwist, after seeing this, I’m definitely doing it myself this weekend
This is one of the best tutorials I have come across. No snapping of necks and fingers, singing, posing, overchatting. Just straightforward and to the point. It's almost like sitting in a real class. I have had locs for 17 years at several lengths after what I felt were necessary cuts due to thinning - butt length, bra strap, and now shoulder length - and have never mastered how to do my own locs. I am so frustrated. I want so badly to be able to be self reliant. How long did this retwist take you to do? Do you twist in the same direction? PS new subbie here. Stay blessed

Use clips so it doesn't unravel. Also, try to put your locs in a style or something that also helps.

Right cause when I do a retwist on my son it just unravels. When i put the clip on the clip it still untwist right along with it
