This is the most informative video I have seen. I've been so nervous to start building my van walls (first timer over here) and wanted to make sure I understood the rivet process before I started... There's lots of videos with the frame wood already up. This was exactly what I needed. 😅 and I LOVE the playdough trick!! So, huge thanks for posting this!!
I knew that I remembered that voice from some where and it is from the tent video with you and your wife. Now here you are helping once again. Thanks again.. 👍👍
Hello Kevin. This is the most thorough instructional video on riv nuts . Thank-you. So glad I ran into ya on TH-cam while searching . 😎It's a rainy day for me in southeast USA, I will be binge watching your videos. Looking forward to your build .
I am putting together a temporary build in my Promaster to use for a 2 week camping trip before I have my van built by professionals. I have one wooden cabinet that I want to secure to the wall. I have been searching for videos that explain what all those holes are for and have been unsuccessful. But it seems that you found a spot in a couple of places that you can screw and unscrew a piece of horizontal wood. I saw you take it off. Can you explain where that is and what hardware you are using. BTW how is your van build going?
The strapping was 1/2 inch ply. I did my build a little different than most. I build my walls as a went as most builds putting all walls up before cabinet design.
Great video, but why am I contemplating buying another tool when I'm 75. I need to put a little trap door in the side or back so they can just through my pills in and maybe a hook up for an oxygen feed! If I just didn't spend so much money on those 18 boats I rebuilt when I was younger!

Thank you for sharing. I just bought a 3500 Promaster but don't like to drill more holes.
love the play dough trick!
If you use rivnuts in the overhead beam you can use a bolt to install actuators for tilting solar : )
New Aussie subscriber 😊
THIS was so helpful!! Thank you for making this content.
Now I understand Rivnuts! Thank you :)
Thanks so much, just what I needed :)
Or… you just run painters tape down the structure and mark your holes. Then transfer the tape to your strapping and you know where to drill.
I like that!
Well done and clearly explained. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Awesome video, very helpful and answered/ explained all questions i had. Thanks
Did you have any problems with the metal shavings from where you drilled rusting?
Good Tips , Thanks
What length bolts should we buy for everything? Can you do a vid on bolt length selection so we can order them all at one time?
Sorry I did not that enough notes to spec bolting. Tried to use mostly metric and stainless steel.
Thanks
Very helpful, thank you!

If I was doing 200 rivnuts or any other hole, I;d want to find a quitter drill!
