  • Prostatitis is a disorder of the prostate gland usually associated with inflammation. Prostatitis often causes painful or difficult urination, as well as pain in the groin, pelvic area or genitals.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) - also called prostate gland enlargement - is a common condition as men get older. An enlarged prostate gland can cause uncomfortable urinary symptoms, such as blocking the flow of urine out of the bladder. It can also cause bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.

Scientific evidence suggests that engaging in a few hours of exercise a week may ease the symptoms of chronic prostatitis, also called chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS).
Kegel exercises can strengthen and train your pelvic floor muscles to help control urination.
    Consider activities like these:
    walking.
    hiking.
    raking leaves.
    gardening.
    aerobics.
    dancing.
    swimming.
    tennis.
    pelvic floor exercises.

I had prosate cancer in 2010. Was treated with seed implants. Cancer was gone about a year later I developed prostatitis. Dr treated with antibiotic. It would get a little better and then flare back up when I finished antibiotic round. Went through this for a year. A friend told me about a customer of his who had prostatitis for ten years and tried olive leaf extract and it cured his prostatitis. I was willing to try anything at this point so I started taking 500mg of olive leaf extract twice a day. Within 4 days it was gone. I went ahead and took it for a month just to be safe and it has never come back. My PSA has been undetectable for several years now and I hardly ever have to pee during the night. Thank the lord for the olive leaf extract.

When I was 50 yrs I developed non bacterial prostatitis. It got so bad that for a year I couldn't sit down due to pain. Went to many MD docs until they got tired of seeing me. 'There's nothing else we can do...'.
I had been eating tofu practically every day for 30 years. Then I went on a 6 week vacation (eating no soy) and my pain completely went away. I didn't know why but problem was gone. Then when I returned home it came back within a few days. It took a few rounds of trial and error changing up my diet. I finally determined it was the tofu and soy generally. It's been twenty years now without pain (I do have BPH) unless I cheat on my no soy diet.
Unfortunately soy is in everything. Tofu, tempeh and soy sauce of course, but also pastries and bread (soy lecithin) and most ice creams and packaged goods. I've become a relentless ingredients list reader.

Dr. Mandela, thank you so much for the videos you make & the practical, useful information you provide. I am a 68 year old black male who experienced the symptoms of prostatitus for the first time about 3 months ago. Initially, I was at a loss as to what was causing pain in my groin area. After using the information you gave in this video I made changes in my diet. I reduced my consumption of cashews and pistachios (two of my favorite nuts), sugar and increased drinking green tea that also contains turmeric. In about a week the results were no more pain. Please continue to provide a great public service with the helpful advice your videos contain. God Bless! 🙏🏽

Great video and info. Agree with most of what you say. But you have missed some items. What I have found that instantly creates prostate problems are: 1.Ground Coffee. After two days of abstaining the problem goes away. Replace with water and tea, black or green no problems. 2. Gluten: Bread. Pasta, Pizza, baked goods, especially raisin toast and iced yeast buns. Eat too much of any of these, and boom, serious problems overnight. The fix is minimising bread to only sourdough and two [small] slices in any one day [so maybe commercial yeast is a cause?]. 3. Too much fruit, especially bananas [Frutose]. Replace fruit with berries fixes it. Pistachios will guarantee problems at night. Walnuts less so.
Fixes that work. As you say Pumpkin seed oil, Saw Palmetto, stinging nettle root, Pygeum.+ Cranberries and Vitamin C, and B vitamins, not mentioned. Tomato paste not tomatoes whole. Seeds and skins must be removed [lectins]. I only take these when problems occur, and they only occur when I eat one or more of the above causes [for me]. You have to figure things our for yourself.
Doctors have NEVER mentioned any of these causes or fixes to me. Once you determine what causes your problem by elimination, as soon as you have a problem you will know why, and elimination that food product. Hope this helps.

For us older men in particular everything helps the issue. I will say that 4-5 mo ago I was getting up 4-5 times a night which was ruining my sleep and ability to get better. Then I started taking a premium blend of saw palmetto which had pumpkin seed extract, pygeum africanup bark , and nettle leaf. Ive been taking 2 pills of this 30min before bed and now many nights sleep thru and other times only get up once. This works may not overnight but trust in it and it will help. Ive also been on keto last 3 months and eating more things which can help this life style of eating , exercise very helpful. This is a two-fold which helps both prostate and blood sugar. Drinking more water can help to flush out excess sugar if you have it. As the Dr has related to many times that whole area is inflamed and you need to do all you can to settle it down. I will see my primary care doc again in Feb. My goal is to have much better results at that time.

I got to a point where I couldn’t process the food in my stomach and couldn’t really eat anything without getting really sick and bloated and got so frustrated I just wouldn’t eat for several days one time I went for almost a week without eating anything but I stumbled upon Greek yogurt I could tolerate it ok and I didn’t eat any wheat for the first time in my life and after expelling it for maybe 3 days my chronic never ending prostate inflation seemed to disappear. Weirdest feeling in the world for the first time in my life that I can remember without any burning prostate well almost 95 % of everything I had suffered so long with just began to dispose could you imagine having extreme social anxieties fear pain worry panic attacks the list is long just fade away. I had to relearn who I was or discover I should say. I still have something that bothers me I don’t know what yet still have fibromyalgia but it’s manageable without opiates now. I take mitrygina speciousa something like that it works so well with no side effects other then burden of taking it multiple times a day and the taste in my mouth I was forced to take them illegally because I hurt so bad I’d rather not live then to suffer so much but they helped me function and hide it for many years. So I was also addicted to them and would occasionally run out and withdrawal were an absolute nightmare. Do you have any ideas on what could cause fibromyalgia that I could be sensitive to?

Good video. A few points. Zinc is more concentrated in the prostate than any organ. Insufficiency creates problems. 25hydroxy vitamin D increase shrinks tumors. Iodine is a component since iodine acts as a break on estrogen production. Since most people are deficient in all three zinc + vitamin D3 + iodine. In sufficient levels. Not rda.

    • @BrickMudge
      @BrickMudge หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Unlike seemingly most people, I'm never deficient in zinc, vitamin D3 or iodine. I get lab work done every 90 days, and I've done so for over a decade now... via a weekly wellness program that I participate in. I'm convinced that alcohol and sugar were/are the main culprits with my prostate issue. I drink very little alcohol nowadays, but I still struggle with sugar addiction daily, believe it or not. Crazy, I know, but I have been making progress, slowly but surely. I'm definitely making a few changes after watching this video though!

Now 70 I had prostatitis from before age 19 and it returned every once in a few years, so I had many bacteria checks and then antibiotics until I read an article in Nov 2007 about vitamin D3 and what it does for the immune system and starting supplements even at 800 IU I never got it back.
I did have a lot of trouble with an enlarged prostate and after each new prostatittis it seem to worsen. 8 years ago for my blood pressure I avoided meds on my own by going on an Atkins diet and lost 13 Kg now 71Kg and normalized BP ever since. It completely cleared my pea even in the morning. It also got rid of arthritis in shoulders, hip, knee and nerve twitching in my feet. But my prostate enlargement was les but not gone. so a month ago I heard that dairy contained a Insulin like growth-factor and so even the yogurt I ate had to go, and the butter. but it was the thing still kept the enlargement going. Now I returned the butter as I guessed the growth-factor is a protein in the water fraction of the dairy and it is almost none in the butter. So I'm very happy that I finally found out what the real problem was.
I also had no alcohol or tobacco since 1976 and no cheese since 2002, the latter for head-aches.

Doc, I needed this, like... I'm healthy as a horse, but I binge every single nut you said... I don't drink soda, I rarely eat processed foods, I've done Apple cider vinegar and fresh lemon juice in a glass of water every morning for a year at least now. I ride my bike and hike alot, both apparently enflame the thing... So annoying, anyway, I am so grateful for this video, I got and was diagnosed with Prostatitis early, like 24-25 carrying a king size bed up stairs while holding my urine and eating badly.... Anyway I peed blood for about a week. I'm 35 I went on a big long walk and there were people everywhere and nowhere to relieve myself so I had to hold it for about an hour... Anyway so it came back... With force.. I was peeing blood for about 4 days, one month ago, in absolute excruciating agony...so I can't think of anybody who needed to hear this more than me today Doc, I swear, God bless you and thank SO much.
