Love the channel and repping the dads who are aging that still skate. Watching your videos and skating have been helping me especially through my divorce thank you

There are some pros getting older. Ive always been pretty limber but as you get older shit hurts but just having an athletic activity keeps your body flexible.
Of all the non big three trucks out there, slappys look the best. If I was to step away from Indy after over 30 years I’d give them a go. Possibly ace too but slappys first.

Yeah they feel like a cross between ace and Indy for turning. They grind really well and the metal is hard enough to not get worn down as fast as an AF1
I love the trucks, but I can't see the supposed R&D that's gone into all the details. The top washers are completely wrong, so they ate through and split both top bushings within an hour. Should have replaced them with flat ones from the start. Also, one of my pivot cups broke after two sessions.
The bushings were fine for me. Top ones blew out after about 3 months but that’s expected. Did you tighten them down at all when you got them? Pivot cups and bushings can easily be replaced, but the geometry, way they grind & response from them is pretty great imo.
Yeah, I love them when they work how they're supposed to. Nope, didn't crank them at all, but the kingpins started loosening by themselves immediately. I like them loose, but I still had to keep tightening them. Put loctite on them, but they still loosen.
Perfect timing for the hollows review! My 1 half year old forged hollows are preeetty beat up and I was debating if I should get thunders or the slappy hollows. I was hoping to go lower on the axle height and kinda leaning towards thunder team hollows since slappies are actually a tiny bit taller than the indy forged trucks... I dunno man, I like loose trucks, so maybe slappies would be a better pick
I haven’t ridden thunders in a long time but back in the day that was my go to. Slappies are pretty solid, dude. Definitely consider them if you ride on the looser side especially

Yes!! Same here dude! Two of my favorite skaters of my time, are also Ryan Gallant, and Stevie Williams. Gallant's style, soo crisp, soo clean, and fundamentally strong... Stevie Williams style, his pop and switch pop as well as his ledge skills are 2nd to none... A more recent time, Tiago Lemos' style and pop is a thing of beauty. Probably a combination of Gallant and Williams. Thank you for your videos dude! Much Aloha!🤙
@@dadboard Gallant's style, especially in his PlanB videos are what motivated me and still motivate me today. So clean. I admire skaters with crisp clean fundamentals and high pop, not necessarily a big bag of tricks. I do appreciate that too. Jonny Giger is pretty amazing, Jamie Griffin too.

Slappys are like an Indy/ace hybrid. They turn better than Indy’s and have a longer shelf life than aces imo
