    I find it very amusing that this guy got all pissed off saying that David was trying to push an agenda when he himself was pushing his own agenda. Just like a typical fundamentalist conservative, can't stand dissenting opinion because they have no rebuttal to your argument. This guy was even talking over David while he was pushing his agenda not giving David a chance to offer a counter point, he was rude from the get go. I honestly don't know how David has the patience he does with some of the guests he has on, I would have hung up on him long before he quit the interview. David, you have the patience of a saint.

      Actually, recent scientific studies have shown that there are no health benifits to circumcision (quite the contrary).
      It's just like how most Baby-Boomers got their tonsils unnecissarily removed durring the 1950s, because "it's normal".
      It took decades for people to accept the fact that there was no medical evidence that tonsilectomies reduced the risk of illness.
      But it finally happened; and now that is no longer the custom.
      I suggest that you watch Penn & Teller's "Bullshit" episode on circumcision.

    I'm against abortion personally. It's because of my religious beliefs and the fact that I find it to be immoral. That's my personal belief and feeling on the subject. As a man and a person that believes in the freedoms that make this country great, I don't have the right to tell anyone else that they need to abide by my beliefs or feelings. That would be wrong and unAmerican.

      Im not a christian and i do do not agree with abortion but with so many political interest in keeping women down and giving more power to the church over a women's body then we will leave abortion before a certain trimester legal and a women's right. I feel when the baby is able to feel pain from is a development of a nervous system is where we should draw the line for a women to have a abortion but in the current irrational climate of politics and special interest im in favor of women to chose deemed by what the courts have stated.

    I don't think that you did anything wrong David. Frankly I think it is the duty of a good interviewer to ask difficult questions. This was hardly a difficult question and was a logical continuation of a statement that HE made. He had the option to answer it calmly and rationally, but instead chose to become aggressive. The question didn't 'sandbag' him, he intentionally sabotaged his own cause through his outrageous, pompous, victimisation-complex agenda. And hats off to you for behaving as collectedly and professionally as you did. I would have ended up rising to his level.

    Like any free-thinking human being, the very idea of abortion strikes at the center of my conscience. I have never found myself in a position where that could have been a question that had to be made. I am not of a gender that would have to deal with the actual physical aspect of such. The only thing I find of greater importance is the right of a woman to make that decision. The horror stories around the need to make that decision are legion. Forcing a woman, or often times a girl, to have to carry a child conceived by evil and ugly means is repugnant to the extreme. But that is the reality of banning abortions. The best thing about Planned Parenthood is that because of them, there is no need for an abortion to be discussed. It is the lack of education and 'planning' that this question becomes necessary.

    • @Solonneysa

      If you would, sir, what do you mean by, "The best thing about Planned Parenthood is that because of them, there is no need for an abortion to be discussed. It is the lack of education and 'planning' that this question becomes necessary."It feels counter to your prior statements that some women may need an abortion due to "evil and ugly means" causing conceptions.
      I also would note that you can heavily plan, by means of vasectomy and birth control, and still conceive. It's rare, but it does occur. Not that I am implying that Planned Parenthood is useless, I'm just saying it's not always because of a lack of education, rape, or inability to take preventative measures, that an abortion is necessary.

  • @SteveGellerMusic
    @SteveGellerMusic 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This was essentially all Slattery's fault. When he entered an interview with a journalist, he should have been prepared for tough questions that had any basic relevance to the issue. It wouldn't have been fair to ask him "if he liked to wear women's clothing," or something like that, but a question about pregnancy centers is perfectly valid in a discussion about abortion. He appeared to just want to pontificate on why his agenda was a great idea, which is the subject matter for an infomercial, not an interview. When you asked him a basic question about his alternative women's care solution, he strawmanned that you were accusing his company of providing NO medical services, when actually you were just asking about this one particular medical service. I think it was more a case of him misunderstanding the question than of him hanging up because he didn't want to try to defend his position, but he should have been prepared for that question, and should have keep talking until there was clarity on the issue, rather than simply hanging up on you. And you should have tried to clarify what you specifically meant by the question, but he hung up before you could, so that's pretty much on him also.

    If you oppose abortion in all cases, what about this case: a 9 year old girl raped by her step-father who became pregnant with twins. She couldn't physically carry twins to term. She had an abortion. What alternatives were there?

    • @JakvsMetalheads999
      @JakvsMetalheads999 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I think abortion should be only legal for rape victims and people who for one reason or another will die or be severely injured due to the pregnancy. Anyone else (at least for the most part) made a decision to have unprotected sex and ended up pregnant because of it. They shouldn't have the right to kill the baby. If they can't take care of it, they can put it up for adoption.

    • @TheFrownyclown
      @TheFrownyclown 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      JakvsMetalheads999 If they don't want the baby and are irresponsible, why should they be trusted to safely take the baby to term? Should they also be monitored for alcohol, drug, nicotine use?

I find it incredible that another example of this administration wanting to dissolve organizations citing cost and morality isn't challenged. When I say challenged I don't mean continuously debating them I mean why not ask what there proposing instead or in place of ? Again here a scenario where the conservatives would rather no questions be asked about the replacement and the deception doesn't end there. Use ur brain the only goal for a place like EMC is to postpone a abortion there can't be many other courses of options considering there not licensed
