You see this is what I love about SMG4 the reason these guys are all together isn’t just for comedy but also how much they have had a long friendship. The fact that Mario was willing to stand up for himself against Nintendo just shows that he really does care for SMG4 and the others. It’s so nice to finally see our silly red plumber growing as a character.

So what about depressor from clown fever is it non-canon?
I find something interesting here. Before what seemed to be this "copyright arc", the episode "if Mario was the last man on earth" ended with everyone rushing aggressively towards him to give him a beat up, but now they somehow seem to Care about him, fear he'll be taken away, while not too long ago, they were okay with ditching him alone. I remember someone commented on "if Mario was the last man on earth" that this episode could lead to an arc where Mario realizes how his stupidity, mistakes and irresponsibility affects his friends for the worse, and while it does sounds interesting, I think this arc goes in The opposite direction. Instead of having Mario see/learn how his stupidity and irresponsibility affects his loved ones to the point he may ruin their lives, it will have his friends see/learn how someone so stupid and irresponsible like him is important for their lives. Without him, who would have motivated the group to make a gigantic pizza after he ruined their pizzas yesterday back in "if Mario was the last man on earth"? Who would have made SMG4 famous when SMG4 came to the mushroom kingdom? Who would have cheered up Meggy after she lost in it back "if Mario was in... Splatoon"? Who would have helped in getting saiko to admit her insecurities back in "doki doki Mario club"? Who would have gave Tari confidence, friends and better social skills back in "Mario the ultimate gamer"? Who would have the gang go back to the Castle so nothing would be stolen back in the Christmas 2019 special? Exactly. They need someone like him in their lives, he's not perfect, he's not exactly a great friend in most of the time, and he's certainly a troublemaking, reckless and nonsensical idiot, but he still might have changed their lives for the better. Even though he causes troubles often, he still improved and saved lives on occasion. This Arc will be about them learning how much they really need Mario, accept his stupidity as a part of him, and come to terms with the fact that while he's not perfect, he's what they need in Life. That's what I think at least anyway.
I commented something like that actually! And reading through your comment I think you're onto something. Personally I'd love to see some sort of inner character conflict with Mario, or have the pizza incident referenced. However I'm also intrigued to see where this goes, as much as I want Mario to have some big in your face change, the subtly with his development has been cool. And to be fair, Mario can't HELP that he's stupid, Lawyer Kong had a point, 4's guardian pod changed everything! And that's not Mario's fault.
I wonder if it'll end with Mario ultimately deciding he doesn't WANT to be his old self? Or maybe we get a mesh of both sides somehow, or even it's revealed that Mario's stupidity isn't all unintentional? Either way, CONFLICT BABY LET'S GOOOO!

Honestly, this is a concept I’m really glad to see explored. It always did seem that SMG4 ruined Mario’s peaceful life by just arriving. Now, no one really protested - they really couldn’t, and it’s always been a moral grey area for me. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Yeah I’ve also been thinking about that. Neither side has completely ill intentions as both sides believe what they’re doing is right. Smg4 loves making wacky videos while Lawyer Kong just wishes for things to return the way things were. I can’t think of a possible resolution to this arc but I feel like there is potential for this to be a compromise or some form of satisfaction for both sides.

I just want to tell that's is so impressive! I really love all personnality SMG4 created for each character. They are all so different and make them so special, that I love to see every character. When every nintendo character come back to normal, I really feel it was different. Their personality make them so different from the original character, that it really seems to be a completed different character. This is why, I don't really hate all these character, (maybe I don't like one, but not hate)so that's why every sad moments make me cry, and I just love watching SMG4 videos.
I'd love to see more of Mario being like his original game self more again, and especially after seeing this.
It would be cool to see how much of a good person he used to be and how his original personality reflects upon other characters.

I think I’m right in saying most people are happy to see Meggy as an Inkling again, myself included. I would love to see her be able to go back and forth between her Inkling and human forms by the end of this arc, that means both the Inkling Meggy and human Meggy fans can compromise and Luke and Kevin can make more money from merch. I like how her expressions as an Inkling are more subtle compared to the others and especially her human form. Inkling Meggy is just so brilliantly sarcastic and almost deadpan and human Meggy can’t really compete with that. I don’t hate human Meggy, I just think she doesn’t work as well in SMG4, she works way better in Sunset Paradise, in her own show. Like I said before, it would be better in the long run if Meggy could alternate between her Inkling form and her human form.

This one should be really interesting, a lot of the arcs and individual episodes recently have always been like a story with some memes on the side. I can see how these can get depressing or sad at times like Meggy stated. Speaking of her, I'm happy for once how SMG4 made Meggy aware of the consequences of her actions. I don't know why but she has been fairly angry and impulsive in modern Smg4 so I'm hoping when the arc ends, they come to a more peaceful resolution rather than just only beating the heck out of one party. Kinda like how Axol persuaded peach to lift the anime ban.
I also know Saiko exists on this channel but unlike Meggy, her character was built as a tough tomboy tsundere like demeanor. So while it may be a wish, I hope to see Meggy's old personality again. Don't get me wrong, anyone can only take so much before they burst but just not explode over the smallest things.

The whole channel was founded on just making funny, stupid videos about a comically idiotic mario and smg4 and friends. It was normal and now they're trying to attach arcs with actual stakes and consequences and just the decision to make arcs like these "serious" just feels weird to me.

Out of everyone who'd get affected by the canon regression field I'm most worried about Bob and Melony, since Melony relies on a Nintendo item to be animate and Bob's entire personality violates both Nintendo's family-friendly image and the canon portrayal of the Garos. Everyone else can at least somewhat be themselves(even if Boopkins likely doesn't remember his name or family and is stuck working for Bowser), but until they get re-memed those two are essentially dead.

This episode mixes comedy as well as having emotional moments, the parts that got me was when Luigi got reverted to his base character and when Mario said “please help Marios friends” it hits different, and bot to mention I didn’t expect meggy to go back to an inkling. I’ve been saving a lot of memes for that one clip.
If you think about it, this changes plenty a perspective. The Mario world SMG4 entered was the canon world, and thus, due to his memes, basically ruined it.
On one hand, Lawyer Kong was doing something bad because getting Mario back to Miyamoto marks the end for SMG4’s channel, but really is doing it only for the good of Nintendo’s well-being.
SMG4, on the other hand, was doing something bad by plaguing Mario’s world with memes and turning Mario into a dumbass, but did such things just to make people laugh.
The way I see it, this episode unsheathed the dual-edged blade.

well in a certain way that's true, if we think about it smg4 (or for that matter all smg's) are beings that arrive in a universe without warning and basically infect it with memes and make it a chaotic place in addition to affecting the hero / defender who inhabits that world (or heroes) corrupting his mind and personality making him not a threat to him (by turning him into a mindless idiot with barely any memories of his past or altering them at his convenience) and all? just to make meme videos in exchange for ruining an entire universe and endangering it by making the individual who first infected the avatar of the universe In addition to the fact that smg4 crew do not know anything about this and they do not know the original mario either, also if we add all the mistreatment they gave mario and even more if we add the beating they gave mario at the end of "mario the last man on earth" after having him, abandon him to the point that he suffered from a fit of insanity/mental collapse from isolation

Mario proving why he's a pivotal part of SMG4 once again, no matter the problems in the past, he's determined to help his friends no matter what, also doing amazing as the comedic relief, once again demostrating why he's my favourite of the cast
That last part of Meggy, just incredible also, hope she and SMG4 do the best to rescue Mario, Luigi, Bowser and the rest from the firewall

So much so, that he last words he says before he reverts back to his pre-corrupted ways was for someone to please help his friends. Mario IS smart and Mario IS good.

Honestly, this parody of Mr. Miyamoto is probably more accurate than others, since he's supposedly gotten inspiration for games from rather odd sources.
I remember hearing he got the idea for Pikmin from watching a line of marching ants. The only thing I'd change is that he'd probably less say "GENIUS!!" and more likely say "Welp, worth a shot!" since that's often Nintendo's philosophy involving new ideas. They thought the Wii was "Worth a shot" after all, but also the Wii U.
That's actually a marketing myth Miyamoto has since disowned. In reality Pikmin was a dark Lemmings-like game developed as an experiment in AI crowds in the bowels of Nintendo in the N64 era. It was originally very Tim Burton-esque but Miyamoto took interest in it and helped the team develop a gameplay loop. Carrying things was the thing they just settled on as being inherently satisfying to make them do.
So in a way perhaps SMG4 Miyamoto is even more in character because he legitimately is known to scour Nintendo's underbelly and pick up weird side projects they were musing over.
I think this arcs gonna be a good one.
My biggest problem with the last Arc is that the story was centered around Axol x Melony and how they were meant to have a relationship, but GLITCH never gave any proper exposition to their relationship, as Axol was a minor character at the time, and his attempts to get with Melony were often comedic and Melony never reciprocated those “feelings”. Axol dying in the Genesis Arc didn’t have much of an effect on me because it seems the character was only going through a resurgence just to be killed. And in turn, it made Melony’s feeling for him just off, because, again, Axol’s one sided crush was used as humor.
Okay, enough with the rant. I really believe an SMG4 vs Nintendo arc, is a very interesting concept, and I want to honestly see how this one turns out. I like seeing this side of smg4 (the character) getting some more character development. And now that the Genesis arc is done, I’m noticing that GLITCH is putting more focus on existing characters, rather than temporarily adding new ones. Keep it up!
Agreed I already completely forgot about Axol
I mean you need to have a little more about a character before the arc or extend past it like they did with Meggy and Desti where the trauma and tension affected what happened afterward. It just didn’t feel the same with Axol’s death

More focus on existing characters, you say? As in not just Nintendo's finest but SMG4's OCs as well, on account of how the majority are just downgraded cameos that last about a few seconds to a minute or two on-screen?
Because they are in SERIOUS need of development themselves; the fanbase can't truly do it for them because fan-made content is just that; fan-made content that most likely will NOT be taken into official consideration.
I disagree axol is awesome character (that’s just my opinion)
