I just noticed the bomb buddies are just bomb - ombs with pink paint I like that idea. (Also Mario and Wario having a mini competition with how many bomb-ombs they defeated was a nice touch)
I love the way you wrote Wario as a hero in this: he's a pragmatic-to-a-fault asshole, he doesn't necessarily like you, and you're not gonna like how he gets his results, but he WILL give you results. Perfectly in-character for him IMO if he HAD to be written as doing something unconditionally heroic.
Yeah I saw this too!! Tiny details like this is what makes the difference between good and amazing, and I think this animation definitely falls under the second category 💯
There are SO many details in this that I love. For a few of them: - In Super Mario 64, the Bob-omb Buddies tell you that they are pacifists. Here in this movie, we see that the traitor Bob-ombs have been painted. And it would make sense that they're painted pink specifically, either as a mocking way of saying they're "girly" for not wanting to fight; or else they're pink to show that their allegiance is actually to Princess Peach, whose colour is pink. - I spent enough time in Bob-omb Battlefield to remember its layout pretty well. And even in this animation, where things are moving so quickly, I can still see that the location is laid out the same way it is in the actual game. It's really cool to see it like this. - I love the blending of Mario's actual moves from Super Mario 64 (that Triple Jump to start flying was perfect), as well as moves from other games like Sunshine or Galaxy, and even some of his Smash Bros. moveset. That's something that Level UP often does in his animations, which makes Mario seem more "alive." And it looks amazing in this style. - So many fans latch onto the idea that Luigi is just a coward, but in this movie we see the right blend: Luigi IS fearful, but he's also caring; he stows his fear and charges in anyway, if it's to support his friends. And of course, his brother gives him courage. - There's a theory that the worlds in the paintings from Super Mario 64 are not just imaginary worlds, but rather are real places in the Mushroom Kingdom, and the paintings just allow someone to warp to those places. So, seeing Mario and Co. arriving at Bob-omb Battlefield by piloting the airship from Rainbow Ride makes perfect sense. And so on. This is one of my favourite Mario animations ever. I'm subscribing now, because I want to see more of this. Merry Mario Day, indeed.
@@KingBobStudios Eh, guess this is more realistic, it was so weird that in the original game King Bomb-Omb would lose from 3 normal throws, yet him falling off a LITERAL MOUNTAIN doesn't kill him EVENTUALLY!
1:11 I love how, for a little bit, the animation goes from regular movie to mock gameplay footage for some kind of high budget Mario x Dynasty Warriors co-op game.
I noticed that instantly - I always theorized a Mario x Dynasty Warriors styled game, especially since we got Hyrule Warriors. The main thing is each power up would change up fighting style, so Fire Mario and Ice Mario would have different mechanics
@@linkthehero8431 My guess is the more expansive roster for playable characters that would make sense - Even if they added plot specific characters, you'd only really have Mario and Luigi for most of the story. Wario or Waluigi would need some SERIOUS reason to help (Or greedy reason is better to say like raiding Bowser's castle to steal the coins or something) - Yoshi would likely join in, but from that point on a lot of other characters are limited: Toads will likely be the small mobs, Peach is likely to be captured UNLESS they wanna do a special plot. Daisy and Rosalina would likely not make an appearance, but of course subject to change. The only big one I could think of is if Donkey Kong and Diddy teamed up with Mario and Luigi for some reason. The end point is: I believe Super Smash Warriors would likely be more likely than Super Mario Warriors - Basically make Subspace 3.0 (Counting the Ultimate Story even if it wasn't what we wanted as Subspace 2.0)

@@SlyRamPlaysNintendo games in general tend to go light on the voice acting, the two most recent mainline Zelda games being notable exceptions. Mario's videogame voice in a movie would be just fine, imo. Mario fans are accustomed to the voice.
This is a terrible badly-thought-out comment…first of all, this video/movie itself is barely even 5 minutes long. Second, he’s not even speaking for half of it, just a few lines spoken. So yeah you really are making a bad case.
@@fd3 I'm making a fantastic case when you consider that Mario speaks full paragraphs in Mario's Game Gallery and Charles Martinet created the voice to speak to crowds for hours with the rigged real time Mario head. High pitch cartoon voices are proven to work in full length movies such as Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Spongebob
Holy crap; this was amazing! Graphics are rad, animation is SO slick, and Mario and Luigi's synergy is frickin cool! Wario was also unreasonably badass even with his sly remarks, and it was a neat twist for King Bob-Omb to be an actual big threat and no pushover at all!
Incredible job. Animation, choreography, voice acting, models, set redesign, everything stellar. A full length version of this would have been better than the Mario movie we got.
There is so much love and effort put into this I can't even begin to describe. Just a couple of touches I can name off the top of my head: - Wario using his Shoulder Bash against the Chain Chomp and generally using his skills from Wario Land - Yoshi not only eating a goomba and chucking an egg, but the egg uses Yoshi's Island SFX and behaves like it does in the game - The Bob-ombs drop off of rainbow cruise just like in the minigames in 64 DS - Speaking of which, the crew of 64 DS working together here is so brilliant, with all of them using their skills to the fullest - The music was awesome, a brilliant collection fitting of each scene (I love the choir doing the OG Mario theme in the midst of the King Bob-Omb Fight) - Most of the team gets along and has great team work, but Wario in particular mostly works alone and bickers with Mario, fitting his characteristics. Even his puzzle solving is used when he blasts the bridge to drive them all to the ravine There is so much I love about this, it's utterly brilliant and I'm probably going to rewatch this over and over again. And if that extra credits scene is anything to go by, I might combust if I see the Chosen Four go off against the Starmen like you did with the Mario crew here.
This is seriously the coolest fan animation I've ever seen. I picked up on all the little details you put in, including the characters movesets. This is the work of a true fan. I love this

What I really like is how you incorporated the movement styles of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Wario not only from Super Mario 64 DS, but Super Smash Bros... and seamlessly, too! It's also nice seeing Wario as a rough yet powerful hero, as he was portrayed in 64 DS.
This entire animation has been really fun to watch, and a whole lot of effort was put into it as well. I even love that the character voices (especially Mario's) are very close to the ones in the official games. This whole animation deserves a 10/10.

Honestly, I have to side with Wario here. That was only one individual!
Dang. That was really good! Great adaptation of one of my favorite maps! :D Also quite proud of your usage of the flip over King Bo-Bomb. Such an iconic tactic!
Bro, incorporating some Mario movement from SM64 into the King Bob-omb fight was SO sick!!
This was fantastic!
*"Mario's game voice would be grating for an entire movie"* yeah right... it works just fine here!
That's mainly because he wasn't speaking the entire time. That's why the majority of mario games are restricted to one liners at most.
@@Luxembourgishexactly
Holy crap; this was amazing! Graphics are rad, animation is SO slick, and Mario and Luigi's synergy is frickin cool! Wario was also unreasonably badass even with his sly remarks, and it was a neat twist for King Bob-Omb to be an actual big threat and no pushover at all!
Wow amazing job 😮
@Nintendo team please, hire this guy!
This video is beyond words. A fan-made video like this that is done this well should easily get millions of views. I hope it eventually does
It's at like 3/4 million views already so yeah, it's definitely gonna reach it pretty soon :)
@@Green_Kirby it was around 200k when I commented. I'm happy to see it's still rising
Incredible job. Animation, choreography, voice acting, models, set redesign, everything stellar.
A full length version of this would have been better than the Mario movie we got.
i love the subtle remixes of the original game soundtracks of whether something is happening
There is so much love and effort put into this I can't even begin to describe. Just a couple of touches I can name off the top of my head:
- Wario using his Shoulder Bash against the Chain Chomp and generally using his skills from Wario Land
- Yoshi not only eating a goomba and chucking an egg, but the egg uses Yoshi's Island SFX and behaves like it does in the game
- The Bob-ombs drop off of rainbow cruise just like in the minigames in 64 DS
- Speaking of which, the crew of 64 DS working together here is so brilliant, with all of them using their skills to the fullest
- The music was awesome, a brilliant collection fitting of each scene (I love the choir doing the OG Mario theme in the midst of the King Bob-Omb Fight)
- Most of the team gets along and has great team work, but Wario in particular mostly works alone and bickers with Mario, fitting his characteristics. Even his puzzle solving is used when he blasts the bridge to drive them all to the ravine
There is so much I love about this, it's utterly brilliant and I'm probably going to rewatch this over and over again.
I love this
Wow i just finished and I'm shocked of the quality of EVERYTHING ! You do a better animation than the official movie, continue like this and you will have a great futur in animation.
Congratulations !!!
This is one of the best animation's I've ever seen on TH-cam. Well animated, good voice acting, music, everything is perfect.
One of the best things I’ve ever seen. Amazing job staying true to the play style of such an old game, sound track and all, while adding amazing graphic and modern touch.
The camera tracking throughout this movie was top-notch. I'm in love with everything. So much love was put in every detail, even in the faithful music arrangements and transitions.
Wow this was amazing! Everything felt full of passion and on MAR10 day! Good job!
Mario is so impressive.
Phenomenal work! The fact that the Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 was officially announced today makes this even better!
It's going to be a new Mario movie but not a sequel to the last one
@@RoseQuartz692They never said that
@@jesse4437 look at the original comment again "Super Mario Bros. Movie 2"
@@RoseQuartz692 No, Nintendo never said that it wasn't gonna be a sequel
@@jesse4437 didn't you see the " marks and the original comment and my first comment where I said that "is going to be a new Mario movie but not a sequel to to the last one
This looks stunning, love the animations and how BAD ASS Mario is! Keep up the good work!
This animation is insane! I love how everyone is working together to stop King Bob-Omb. The double team with Mario getting help from Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario was really cool too! I still see that Wario still has beef with Mario!😂
Amazing job, King Bob!
Thanks for the supplies, peach. Do admit it's fun for an opening level to be so epic and I believe remastered. More vocals too, which princess peach showtime lacks despite the greater dialogue.
3:11 yoshi stepping stone 🎉

Wario: HOLY SH---
Bullet Bill: *N O S W E A R I N G*
Ok, this is amazing! Really, really well done! How you incorporated everything from the game‘s animation to the level design even to the theme of it being an actual battle field… this is just all-around excellent!
This VA channeled his inner Charles Martinet!! Absolutely perfect!!
For real!! He’s so good! Jesse Pinnick has amazing talent
God there's so much to love about this. I love how everyone's characterized especially, like they're quipping but not having long monologs or anything that would feel out of place, and the fact that everyone's actually doing their iconic moves but in a way that feels natural just true beauty my guy.
I love how Wario and Mario kept arguing at the end lol This was beyond anything I've ever seen, ESPECIALLY the animation and references! Amazing!
0:41 can we talk about how that Bob-omb ran head first into battle.
I mean his head is really all he has
I really hope yall make more of this, the animation and concept overall was PHENOMENAL!
Well done to everyone who put their time and effort into this!👏🏻 and thank you for blessing my eyes, multiple times…. I Would definitely love to see more of these! Maybe Big Boos Haunt or Lethal Lava Land! 👀
I loved the integration of actual mario moves in the fights, this animation was overall really cool!
Yo, I was not expecting this to be a full-on fan film, this was awesome! Happy Mar10 day!!
The handstand on the flagpole was a nive touch and marios buttstomp into the cannon as well. 10 of 10 buddy
This'll go down as one those timeless videos made by pure passionate love!
(Okay you teased us with Bob-Omb Battlefield, now imagine how cool it would be to see the rest of the stages and the Castle grounds with this cinematic style ;) )
Exactly. Omg, imagine seeing a Super Mario 64 movie with all the courses/levels - all 15 courses(plus the Bowser fights):
1. Bob-omb Battlefield
2. Whomp’s Fortress
3. Jolly Roger Bay
4. Cool, Cool Mountain
5. Big Boo’s Haunt
6. Hazy Maze Cave
7. Lethal Lava Land
8. Shifting Sand Land
9. Dire, Dire Docks
10. Snowman’s Land
11. Wet-Dry World
12. Tall, Tall Mountain
13. Tiny-Huge Island
14. Tick Tock Clock
15. Rainbow Ride
1)Bowser in the Dark World
2)Bowser in the Fire Sea
3)Bowser in the Sky
The Mario vs. King Bob-omb battle is a masterpiece! Deserves to be on a big screen!!!
More captivating than the whole new mario movie. Amazing work.
Dude, this was AMAZING! I actually teared up a little seeing the Bros work together, Wario and Yoshi combining skills, so great! ❤
4:27 Not sure if this was intended or I'm just crazy, but is that a nod to Mario's beta move set? In the Beta of 64, Mario did that helicopter move with his arms instead of the triple jump in the final game. That is a really neat reference!
This is a masterpiece, this shows much love to mario 64! So underrated
I love watching Mario fight with aerial acrobatics and very dynamic skills.
Congratulations on the well-deserved million views and I hope to see Mario defeat Master Hand again 👊
Everything about this is so well made, but the only thing that bothers me is that the animation needs more tweaking and polishing.
I wish I spent more time… but I had to make the the Mar1o day! Haha
@@KingBobStudios fair, animation takes years to improve and understand very well the 12 principles of animation, I'm sure you have a lot of skill, just gotta keep working on it, you still did amazing
