Exhaust sounds great without the piping, but i recommend you always pipe it to the edge of the car in back or side of the car. Hot exhaust vented to just the under-carriage will cause overheating problems to any components under the car - fuel tank, fuel pump if located in or near the tank, any sensors, transmission, etc. I learned this the hard way - killed the fuel pump on my 2000GT Mustang.

@@FootageFactory Yes, the coupe, Edelbrock carburator, a wonderful machine the best car in the world. The tires are BF/goodrich 16", on Magnum. It's silver blue with the trim 22. I'm gonna check those flare video right now!

Seriously love the car,But theres something about slapper bars sticking out that looks odd...yeah they work nice,ive used them but after awhile it bugged me so bad i changed them out and used torsion bars from a Shelby. And air shocks dont really do the handling any favors. Only my opinions of course,

After that the its just been funny, especially after new ignition, distributor, and associated firing parts. Ideas Are welcome. I think Im gonna do a compression test next.

H pipe, It’s kind of hard to explain it, doughnut media did a good video on how the sounds escape differently with an H or and X pipe. The scientific explanation is eluding me, but overall the exhaust resonates more with an H pipe. I hope that helps.

@@RustyTurkey. H-pipe makes a smoother, deeper sound, and importantly it increases exhaust scavenging, it pulls exhaust from the engine for higher velocity, less backpressure and more power.
Cool video, I just recently built a sweet new engine for my 65, it had a single exhaust pipe coming out the rear with a glass pack that actually sounded pretty dang sweet, I’ve upgraded everything thing from camshaft to heads and I’m running headers. Up until I watched your video I had no idea how I was going to finish the exhaust from headers back, but I have a pretty good idea of what I’d like to do now. You made it look like a piece of cake. 🤙🏻🍻🇺🇸

I have a 69 mustang with a 302, I've been looking to get a new exhaust system for it with long tube headers. Any recommendations? I'm looking to go for a deep grumble at idle and not too loud.
What do you have already, I did this as an experiment because the old ones were rotting out. I tell you what, the grumble of an H or X pipe really made a difference.

Buy the mufflers first, then go get the correct size metal tubes at orielly, somewhere between 2 and three inches. Bolt it up, see if it works, then weld em, if you know how.

Don't have to worry about the fuel pump on a classic car because it is on the timing cover of the engine not in the tank

The best sound would probably be an x pipe. But can’t go wrong with h pipe and 4 series.
