that is freaking awesome...pat him on the back...I want to hear staying alive Bee Gees blue grass..hippy disco..silk and petulia are gonna be huge....lol...I don''t know but it kind of seems like I am right.
Thank God they videoed this and thank you for posting it. What perfection the whole performance, everyone in the band nailed it, I will watch this forever.
I remember the 1st time I saw Pine Mountain, Rosco was on mandolin back then. Loved hearing this song live. Then I got the same chilly bumps when I was watching Training Day with Bill Paxton and heard the start of this song. I had to rewind the show to see what the actors were saying because I was geeking out a lot.
Great Cover. Great artists killer musicians. This type of Bluegrass will and should reach a whole other generation. The younger people will be turning and listening to more Bluegrass. Especially when they realize that this is bluegrass. Yes. Hooked at that point. GREAT COVER. LOOK FORWARD TO LISTENING TO MORE MODERN BLUEGRASS. This isn't your grandparents bluegrass anymore, it's the now modern bluegrass and it is catching more and more of the new younger generation. LOVE IT.
No, I suspect there's a few of us nostalgic folks out there who appreciate the beauty of this and had some water roll down a cheek. And yes, it touches some chords in the later years of life, remembering the hope, love, and adventures to be had when they were still doable.
Jim Bob, I believe you guys are on the right track and I am diggin the sound, Best Wishes to you guys, I look forward to hearing more and hope you and yours are doing great :)
that kid on the fiddle though....that was smokin ..i wanna know who his teacher was...sounds like a charlie daniels kid...and that poor mando looks like it was about to catch fire ....good job guys we love journey here in alabama
funny you say that because the reason I know as I seen it in a video of him correcting the guy doing the interview the guy had made some statement about his "fiddle" and Charlie corrected him said it was his violin fiddling is the style in which he plays
I liked that he reacted to the audience, started to smile and maybe to laugh too (around 0:45) but kept control and didn't miss a beat. That's a skilled performer, folks.
good stuff my man..been enjoying seeing gospel and hippies sort of decide that Jesus is the man....anytime you can take something that was special and make it yours I applaud...well done gentlemen.
ENCORE! ENCORE! Exemplary work my friends! Bluegrass covers so many roots to music and its origins, some folks may not realize all music we know today, considering your playing a real instrument, stems from both bluegrass and country roots. Both were around way before rock or metal or punk, or any of the other sounds in modern music today. When you guys put out more covers, please consider this list I would offer as a personal favorite request to hear more of your great sounding work! Thank you guys, I think your all wonderful musicians and I appreciate you! Country Roads - John Denver Rocky Mountain High - John Denver Atlantic City - The Band Faithfully - Journey Ventura Highway - America A horse with no name - America
Fantastic! They are so tight...from the chop and shreddin of the mando(what is his name? I think I saw him in some basement sessions with Russ Carson), the melodic banjer player (super tight playin), the showboatin fiddler, great vocalist... can't decide who is best!! Just such an awesome cover❤❤❤
If that don't make you smile it's too late , the mortician will have to .
So Cool
LOL absolutely right bull frogger!!!
I lost it with the violin riff at the start that Neil would have been playing on the guitar in the original...lmao
I play the fiddle also, I had to laugh when he played it....totally awesome....
HAHA!!!!
Bluegrass proves that we can make it as country and a civilization.
I don’t know about that , but American culture has been for the most part good for the modern era , thank you from NZ
My grandfather plays the bass in this
Your Grand Dad IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!
that is freaking awesome...pat him on the back...I want to hear staying alive Bee Gees blue grass..hippy disco..silk and petulia are gonna be huge....lol...I don''t know but it kind of seems like I am right.
He’s a SAVAGE on that bass!!!
Your grandpa is epic
Who is the band ? Or am I missing it
That man playing the bass is the best friend I’ve ever had in my life, I’m so proud of of all of his accomplishments! I love him dearly! ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thank God they videoed this and thank you for posting it. What perfection the whole performance, everyone in the band nailed it, I will watch this forever.
Best bluegrass cover ever! So much talent but it's that pickin that puts the icing on the cake.
I'm really very picky about covers and remakes of my favorite classics but I give this a Thumbs Up! It is just...awesome!
Love how calm, cool and collected the banjo picker is.
Dear lord.. this has to be the most incredible experience in my life.. wow I am freaking out

I stayed long enough for it to hook me.
Michael, bluegrass will do that to you... Might as well get an instrument and get in here amongst us.....
I never get tired of this version! Thanks Pineville!
Thank you Craig! Hearing it on Training day was pretty cool for all of us too!

No, I suspect there's a few of us nostalgic folks out there who appreciate the beauty of this and had some water roll down a cheek. And yes, it touches some chords in the later years of life, remembering the hope, love, and adventures to be had when they were still doable.

when I first heard this, I couldn't stop listening over, and over. Really I like it better than the original version.
"LOVE IT"!!!!!
that kid on the fiddle though....that was smokin ..i wanna know who his teacher was...sounds like a charlie daniels kid...and that poor mando looks like it was about to catch fire ....good job guys we love journey here in alabama
"fiddle" (or fiddling) is a style of playing not the instrument. its still a violin
Jane Szalma but i so agree kids awesome i been playing for 25 years it takes talent not practice to play like that some got it some don't
Dustin Parrish You can say it's not a fiddle, but until Charlie Daniels says otherwise, i think I'll take his word for it.
funny you say that because the reason I know as I seen it in a video of him correcting the guy doing the interview the guy had made some statement about his "fiddle" and Charlie corrected him said it was his violin fiddling is the style in which he plays
Dustin Parrish Fascinating! I stand corrected.
I liked that he reacted to the audience, started to smile and maybe to laugh too (around 0:45) but kept control and didn't miss a beat. That's a skilled performer, folks.
How can you not like this. It's fantastic. I love it. 🤘
