It’s kinda sad because the Russian was basically the only guy who was ever nice to the Joker. He was willing to hear him out, never attempts to betray him, and seems genuinely excited to hear what the Joker wants to use his money for. He’s never thought of the Joker as a freak and seems much more upset about being betrayed.

Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell?
God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell.
      John 1:1-3,10 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
      Isaiah 44:6 KJV
Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
      Revelation 1:17-18 KJV
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
      Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
      John 5:24 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
      Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

As much as he likes to present himself as an agent of chaos, he's more like a performer. He makes plans. Lots of them. They are more like plays scripts. He prepares the stage, chose the right gears, hires the right crew to help him, who he mades also part of the audience...That's a wise choice sometimes. He knows his art: I refuse not to aknowledge this 😂. And he can improvise too for sure.

Joker is a cool character with cool quotes like this but there's no depth in his character unlike Joaquin's who had much more complex character.

    • @user-fu7zf4ck9z
      @user-fu7zf4ck9z 4 ปีที่แล้ว +64

@@desipop3654 This joker is much more complex than Arthur Fleck. He is a nihilist who wants to teach "society" a lesson that results in anarchy and chaos. This joker also has a mysterious background story (most likely a former soldier) that clearly traumatized him to the point that he no longer cares about pretty much anything except his "message" and by caring about nothing he ironically cares about everything, because he fails to realize that he DOES have a plan. The 2019 Joker is an interesting character for sure, but not at all a good "Joker" (He's the joker for about 3 minutes in the movie). Arthur Flecks characterization is clear but still very profound, does however not compare to the 2008 Joker, that still to this day is the most in-depth interpretation of the comic book villain. Performance wise if course, both Ledger and Phoenix are beyond great

Also, there's the whole being unable to know the consequences of actions, so we might as well just live by principles. They aren’t heroes, they’re just fueling your aggression so they can profit off you. And the only reason they can get away with it is because you’re deluded into thinking you’re some kind of special hero who is in the know about some kind of secret conspiracy that conveniently no one else but your own selected allies know about. And that is all a giant farce. Reality is striking you right in the face and you’re trying to pull back a curtain that doesn’t exist. You’re too arrogant to understand that if this much of the world was against you, people would’ve figured it out already. There is no resistance, only delusion and the state of being pawns of the very media you claim to hate.

The Joker from TDK is seemingly a master psychologist. He knew he couldn't get the mob to trust him after having stolen some of their money if they didn't think he had rational motivations. And to them, money is the only rational motivation. So he mirrored their own motivations to appeal to them. They were so blinded by their own motivations that they couldn't see what Joker actually was.
Joker also knew that Batman was the main concern, so he could voice that knowing they didn't think that. So that when they finally realized Batman was the main concern, not the police, they would trust his judgement moreso than they would have otherwise.

Aaron is definitely underrated, Heath obviously shadows everybody with his performance. It helps that we don't really have any other live action two face actors. But not just being the villain, but portraying the true tragedy of Harvey Dent: a man on the right side of the law who wanted to save Gotham and was doing it. Gotham needed Batman but he could never be what Dent was, Batman will always be a vigilante, something scary, urban legend esque which helped get the ball rolling, but the city needed a white knight as well as a dark knight. But seeing him be broken and reduced like he was is the true horror of it. And the choice to have the joker be the one to break him was far more brilliant than the origin story of the mob doing it IMO. Thematically it makes more sense and makes the whole story even more tragic.

Gotham is a fictional city hanging from a thread thats why the joker makes sense. The world is not Gotham. A real life Joker would be a sick man and an idiot. There are no mobs like the ones from dc. Rich people don't go out at night as vigilantes. Madmen who think of everyone else but themselves as sheep are incels, not Jokers. Btw, I love the Joker, I just hate the way Heath's portrayal is glorified for being serious and it's terrifying and saddening.

You can't really argue that Jack Nicholson and Joaquin did not "truly commit themselves" to the role.
You weren't there, you can't say who was more deeply method acting or inhabiting the character. It is probably a safe bet Joaquin and Ledger were both still in character between takes while Nicholson was not in Joker mode 100% of the time.

The Dark Knight is truly the greatest and most quotable comic book movie of all time. Here’s few of the legendary quotes:
*Joker:* _They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out-like a leper. See, their morals, their "code"…it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you, when the chips are down, these-ah-"civilised people"? They'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve._
*Harvey Dent:* _You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain._
*Alfred:* _Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn._
*Joker:* _You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan". Even if the plan is horrifying. If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds!_
*Joker:* _Do you want to know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the... little emotions. In... you see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. So in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?_
*Batman:* _Sometimes the truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded._
*Jim Gordon:* _Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. _*_He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight._*
*Lucius Fox:* _Let me get this straight. You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands; and your plan, is to _*_blackmail_*_ this person? Good luck._
*Joker:* _Oh, you. You just couldn't let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible, aren't you? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever._
*Joker:* _Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know thing about chaos...it's fair._

The small details are just impeccable. The way he says "gasoline" like it's the magic word, even moving his lips to the side to make sure the lackey hears him. Which means they had practice the "scene" before, like: "And when I say 'gasoline' be sure to throw it all! Don't even miss a step!".
