Just out of curiosity, did he know that Hawaii(Hawaiian Kingdom) was under occupation of the United States sense January 16, 1893 and that the U.S. had no legal right to draft anyone in Hawaii? The Permanent Court of Arbitrations confirms the occupation of Hawaii in 2001 with court case number 1999-01. I'm proude of this Medics service to the ARMY. But Hawaii is still a internationally recognized sovereign country regardless of any other factors. And the referendum in 1958 was illegal because subject of the Hawaiian Kingdom was forbidden from taking part in the vote. But again I am very proude of this veteran.
