Oh, don't regret it! You could make the choice to not baby your bag AT ALL, and then you will find that your bag develops beautiful characteristics from all the wear you give it. My friend doesn't baby her Madewell bags at all. They get these wonderful personalities because of the unique ways they scratch and wear. So please do whatever is peaceful for you!
In fact, I need to learn to not baby my bags so much! It can be a burden to treat them so carefully and then the object ends up controlling me instead of the other way around!
I’ve had my bag for two weeks and haven’t used it because we’ve had insane humidity lol. It’s been stressing me out! Thank you for your follow up comments! That makes me feel better! I wish I had the time to give it as much love and care as you do!
Oh,@@celinavang8780, you're OK! If it is humid, the moisture in the air will be good for your bag! Rather, it is the extremes of temperatures we should avoid.
It’s not! Lol I have a transport tote that has so many markings from me throwing it around I love it! It gets rained on, spilled on and its marks tell the story of my life. But I do love the more rustic look lol 😂
Wow what a great video! Do you use the Leather Honey Cleaner along with the conditioner? It would be great if you can make a video showing how you clean and condition your bags! Much love xx
Great idea! No, I don't use the cleaner. I'm gearing up to release a video soon where I go on a rant about my thoughts on leather care products! So stay tuned!
have you tried madewell sandals? I love their leather strappy sandals for summers. I like matching my madewell strappy sandals with my madewell bags :D.
It's called Cider! It was a limited edition color. Check eBay, Nordstrom, Shopbop and keep checking the Madewell website because often they bring things back!
How do you maintain the bottom exterior corners of the bag? I have owned mine for only 2 months and the corners are already wearing and discoloring which I figure is normal but is there any way to "restore" this? or would the best option be to wait for more time to pass and bring it to a leather repair shop?
I feel you on this! Just normal use will cause the bottom corners of the bag to show wear. What I would recommend is always placing your bag on a soft surface (like a couch) instead of the floor. I have found that applying a little bit of leather balm with a bit of wax will help provide a bit of a barrier if just placed on the corners of the bag.
I have a limited olive leather transport tote and I.got it used, it has a fairly obvious long scratch on the front and I want to condition it without changing the color! What product do you recommend? I would cry if the color got ruined...
Did you get to the part of this video where I speak of using the heat of my hand to remove scratches? I would try that first. After that, I would use Leather Honey. Let me know how it goes!
I do not waterproof my bags! I'm a bit of a purest in that way. I don't want to clog the pores of my leather. So, instead, I carry a trash bag with me always. If I'm caught in a rainstorm, I put my bag in it! I might look silly, but I'm protecting my investment!
It was called English Saddle, but it is one of the first editions, and those were a more orange color with darker brown handles for some reason. They are hard to come by but occasionally appear on eBay. Good luck in your search!!
I was wondering if you can recommend anything for a pen stain. The stain is a line with ball pen. I tried alcohol and hair spray (two separate occasions) a week after the stains occurred and I made the stain worse. Also I tried to put Jack Georges leather lotion but they only sell two bottles at a time. I emailed the company but I didn't recieve a response. Thank you for your videos, I've learned a lot!
Aww, man, I'm so sorry I don't have a solution. I once got a pen mark on a bag, too, and I was never able to get it out. If it's in a prominent spot and you can't ignore it, you could always order from Amazon a $7 bottle of leather paint. Sometimes I'll mix a few colors together to get the exact shade of my bag, then apply it carefully and rub it in. It is tricky, though, because it may not match the exact color. Good luck!
@@LisaGoddard Sorry, i just noticed your reply. I thought about leather paint but I was unsure due to the different varieties. Which one do you recommend? I emailed Jack George's after watching your video recommendations and they recommended a couple of household remedies to remove ink but, similar to your reply; ink on leather is challenging issue. I'm curious what you think about the tote organizers. Etsy, Ebay, and Amazon has a few varieties which claim to, "fit Medium Madewell Transport totes." That would be a great subject for your next video, if you don't already have one. Thank you in you for recommendation.
please help! i’m having a very hard time deciding which color transport tote i should buy. i don’t wear a lot of black, i don’t know if i should buy one in the shade “linen” which is a creamy beige color. or if i should buy one in black. i don’t know which one would look better with what i wear!!!
You are so cute! What a great problem to have! The English Saddle Brown has always been my favorite. Is that in the running for you? Do you have an Instagram I could peek at to get a sense of your style? Then I will eagerly give you my thoughts on black versus the creamy beige!
I have a question about the leather honey. Would you recommend I put a drop on the tshirt for each piece/side. So add a drop and do the bottom then add a drop and do the front? I’ve never used it, just wondering how much I should expect to use.
Yes! I think exactly what you said is perfect. Honestly, maybe a drop isn't enough because that would be mostly absorbed by the t-shirt itself. So start with a drop in just the way that you said and then maybe increase it slightly if you find the t-shirt absorbs too much!
did leather honey darken the bags? I've read reviews on it, and a bit scared to try. between that and the Chamberlian milk which would you think is better? My bag is in the saddle
Oh, girl, I don't know! I have both products and do like them, but I tend to think Leather Honey is less likely to darken. If possible, though, I'd use neither product! Haha!
I got hand sanitizer on my madewell bag and it lifted the color a bit so that spot is lighter would you recommend leather conditioner on just that spot ?
Bummer! I'm sorry to hear this! Yes, I think a leather conditioner on it like Leather Honey or Jack Georges Leather Lotion would be good. If the color difference really bothers you, you could blend in polish or leather paint, but both of these would compromise the leather quality significantly. I would only use them if the leather is already so significantly destroyed that I don't care!
Thanks for liking my double-bar necklace! Here's a link to where I bought mine! Right now it's 15% off! If you wouldn't mind telling the seller that I linked you to her page, I'd appreciate it! www.etsy.com/listing/256065406/personalized-double-bar-necklace-two?ref=user_profile
I personally do not use any water replants except on shoes. The reason is because I do not want it to clog the pores of my bags. Instead, I carry a plastic trash bag in all my bags in case I get caught in a rain storm!
This video was great! I spilled hand sanitizer on my small transport crossbody today...& I'm devastated! Hoping to get it fixed at a leather repair place!
Aww, I pray that you make out OK! Let me know how it goes! If not, try my technique of keeping your warm hand on the area and massaging out the stains!
Aww! Just tell yourself that your tote has made lots of memories with you! That's what the scratches are! My jacket was a Forever21 find in 2017, I think!
Hi Lisa!! Because of your lovely reviews in the medium transport tote, I purchased one last year and I absolutely LOVE it! Question... have you ever got an ink stain on one, and if you did, how did you get it out? I'm scared to try on my own and ruining it😳
I'm so glad you got a Madewell bag and that you love it! I did once get a pen mark on a bag, and I'm so sorry to say that I couldn't get it out. If you figure out a solution, please share it with me!
I love your bag videos! 😍 Do things ever spill out of your medium transport tote or is that a non-issue? I'm trying to decide between the medium transport tote and the top-zip version. Thank you!
I personally love the version without the zip, and I'm grateful that I haven't had things spill out! But either is great! I have both and I do love both! Sorry I wasn't much help for deciding! Haha!
Honestly can’t get enough of your bag videos lol ❤️
Aww, thank you, Sarah!!
Wow! You really love your bag! I just ordered a bag, but now almost regret it... sounds hard to maintain.

Bharti Puri I have not yet! I’ll check them out! Great idea!
Same care instructions hold true for your kids especially the one about don’t leaving it in the car lol
Haha, that's funny! Good insight!
What color is the medium transport tote you show here? Looks much lighter than english saddle, LOVE it!

I just bought one at Goodwill for $7, but it has a water stain from who knows what. Trying to find a video to repair the stain/clean it.
