The Philippines have a long and extensive history with 1911 type handguns. They have served there as long as the US military have had them. It makes sense that they would produce quality 1911 firearms.
Makes sense since the original M1911 pistol was tested against the Juramentados (Berserkers) of Mindanao back in the early 1900's as the .38 caliber revolvers proved ineffective against them.
We have 3 gun manufacturers here in PH of good quality, may not that fairly cheap in price. But most of law abiding citizens refrained to buy one because of too much paper works and to remind us all, criminals dont bother much on gun laws only law abiding individuals do.
Strict gun laws only favor criminals, the ability to regulate & issue gun licenses must be taken away from the PNP because it's too centralized. A separate branch staffed by civilians should replace them.

My grandfather fought in the Pacific war alongside a Filipino regiment. He said they were aggressive and skilled fighters who could be relied upon to stand their ground. Im sure that warrior ethos is imbued in all the Armscor guns. I have an M200 .38 and it is a solid piece.
The Model 1911 .45, 100 year old design that is still one of the best handguns ever produced. While I highly respect and appreciate all the people at armscor and may armscor have a successful future. But me being a red blooded American I had to stay true and I got me the Remington 1911R1. Don't ever give up your rights, no matter where you are from!

It is bro. The ARMSCOR RIA TAC FS is the official side arm of the AFP having the ranks of Corporal down to Private. The Women AFP Personnel, the Sergeants up to officers are issued with Glock 17.
I bought the RIA Pro Match Ultra FS last February .The gun is tight and I am impressed with the slide/frame fitting and over all craftsmanship that went into the making of this gun. My RIA Pro Match Ultra FS is equal to my Kimber, and better than my Colt and Springfield. I think my gun was made using the CNC machines that Armscor procured not too long ago. US gun manufacturers think investment casting on gun frame produce poor gun quality in compared to forged. I get it Investment casting just cheaper and easy to produce but it doesn’t last. Armscor need to clarify what make a gun frame made by investment casting as good as forged frame. And the other thing what up with one ammo clip that comes with the box. Just every budget 1911 comes with 2 ammo clip. Taurus and Girsan do come with 2 ammo clips. Sometimes your mag or clip is junk and consumer have to spend extra on a bit better quality. Quality is better than quantity and Filipinos do work hard. You would think countries like Philippines employing cheap labor at least you can afford to produce better made product.

Armscor is actually made in the Philippines. Their firearms are sold under the brand Rock Island Armory. As far as I know, they have always been Armscor ever since they started and are quite popular in the US for being one of the more affordable, high quality option.

Pesos? It took me 3 days for my background check to clear for a handgun & 20 minutes for a Long gun. So let me correct myself, it only takes around 2 possibly 3 car rides and about $500 dollars

why not make a 22 LR mini pistol with a short barrel (2.5 inch long) and full size magazine to hold 15 or 30 rounds. specifically designed for CIVILIAN USE. It was those Filipino Moros who precipitated the 45 ACP. The 38 Long Colt wasn't getting the job done.
