    I bought the exact model Tundra SR5 double cab TRD 4x4 off road edition. LOVE IT! My 3 kids fit great and I get the 6.5 bed for hauling.

    I am picking up a double cab sr5 with sr5 upgrade and trd offroad in Calvary Blue next week. I have two kids, 11 and 9, who have more room than they need in the back. I am 6' and I sat in the driver seat adjusted for me then sat in the seat behind it and I had 2 - 3 inches between my knees and the back of the driver's seat. Very comfy seats and the 5.7 is a GEM! Can't wait to pick it up!!!

      @@dangright9570 Sorry it took so long to get back - after 8 months I am extremely happy with this truck. Pulls my camper with ease, the 6.5 bed is great - I never complain when the wife is driving it and a kid calls shotgun. Love the under seat storage in the back. Will never regret this choice!

    Thanks for the impressions.
    I was in the market for a Tundra last year and was offed a Great Deal on a 2008 5.7 Lt Double Cab Last Year with 156,000 miles on it. Before I pulled the trigger, I went to Findlay Toyota in Henderson NV & test drove a NEW Crew Max 5.7 Lt TRD Platinum cause I wanted to see what I thought. IMHO, the Platinum felt like all the Upgrades added a 1000 Lbs or more to the truck. It seemed like it went too far into Luxury by sacrificing Handling & Performance. It just seemed "Heavy & Lazy" .
    I had previously owned a 4 Runner Limited with all the bells & Whistles so I LOVE the Premium Upgrades. The Crew Max just seemed very Heavy & sluggish. So, I bought the 2008 DC, & had Findlay Toyota Install the Magunson Supercharger, DBA Slotted Brakes, King Adjustable Shocks, TRD Sway Bar & Toyota Cast Aluminum running Boards. All $ in at $ 15K LESS than the Brand New Crew Max would have cost me... Oh, Ya !!!
    Of course, I will see / be possibly Laughed At for Supercharging an Engine with 168,000 miles depending on how the High Mileage 5.7 LT can handle all those Ponies as she enters her "Golden Mileage Years"... if I end up Blowing her engine or the Transmission up way too soon the mistake will be my own, BUT.... YOLO !!!
    BTW, I like the way the Double Cab Looks much Better.

    Welcome back to the double cab side lol. Now on a serious note. As long it's a tundra it doesn't matter what trim or cab you have they are all awesome. Now as far as power between the two cabs. I wonder if the rearend gearing is the same in your Platinum and the sr5 you have.

    I like my double cab because I can actually fit stuff in the box, like a queen sized mattress. ( I was even able to close the tonneau cover). Also has less sway when towing our travel trailer as well. To be honest, my 2011 Nissan Titan Crew Cab felt a lot more nimble and quicker off the line, but the Tundra is a bigger truck overall. The power is there, and is substantially more than the Titan, but it takes a tad bit more time to reach it. I find one of the problems on the freeway with my Tundra is that I exceed the speed limit without even noticing, it runs that smooth.

    The Toyota Tundra 2015 models weigh between 4,920 and 5,370 pounds. The 2015 Tundra SR weighs the least of four models, and the 2015 Tundra Platinum edition weighs the most, with two additional models, the SR5 and the Limited, weighing 5,095 pounds and 5,220 pounds, respectively.

    • @TundraDude34
      @TundraDude34  6 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @sshep03
    @sshep03 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    TD34, do you think any of the additional power feeling is due to the difference in tires? I assume the Double Cab has OEM tires...I ask because I always notice a difference when I go from an OEM tire to a heavier AT tire such as the K02.

    The dbl cab wayyyy more superior. The big center console storage, the rear underseat storage, the regular 6.5 bed all the space you need! I never understood why people get a crewmax then throw on a topper.. That totally just takes the purpose of the roll down window away.

    Should I get a blue 2015 double cab with 67000 miles and a bed cover also Toyota certified and still under warranty for 28k or a 2016 tundra mettalic grey (nicer paint job IMO) with 95000 miles nicer rims(blacked out plus nicer design also 2 inches bigger *20 inch) for 26k I’m leaning towards the one year newer model but I’ve never owned a truck or a tundra at that.. the miles don’t bother me too much because I don’t drive crazy distances often and I hear the tundras will drive to 300k
