I’m so impressed you being a good dad and having your son to write a functional paragraph on his reason for needing an early allowance. Also him having good penmanship. When my children’s dad was in jr high his mother had to raise 3 kids by herself. She came home late from work one night and checked everyone’s homework. His penmanship was horrific. She made her son get up and rewrite his work leaving a vivid impression to never write sloppy again. Not to be mean, but she knew he had potential and considered his teacher having to decipher his work. To this day and he’s almost 70 he has the most perfect, beautiful penmanship. Always enjoy your videos. Have a good weekend!!
The one 18 yr old that I work with can not read cursive. I'm actually teaching him how to write and read. He's awesome on the electronic side, but not in the real reading, writing and arithmetic world.

Hi Paul...to your question on paying for the scrap my answer is a strong "No"... the money you pay will more than likely go into the new managers pocket. God will provide elsewhere. Time to move on, give thanks for what God gave you then wait and watch for another door will open a better door, God knows best.
Hey Paul I would not pay because sooner or later he gonna stop you from getting it and start keeping it himself and sale it similar thing happens to me I was getting scrap from where Iive from the maintenance men's and they stop me from getting it started saleing
I just told "Mike the Scavenger ", I dragged a motor thingie with brass fittings on it behind my work dumpster. I asked several customers (in conversation) if they scrap. I had one gentleman that took it. It ended up being about 25.00 worth of brass, then shred metal. It made me feel good. I'm watching and learning from you and Mike.
Paul - I think it is just mean. You have to make it really financially viable for you. The new manager is just doing the typical "a new brush sweeps clean " thing. My honest unkind view would be - let him collect and sell the rotors himself and see what it means to deal with the scrap. It depends on how much hassle you are willing to deal with. Next he will ask for an annual contract and tenders. No - if there is no loyalty it may just be a door closing for you - another will open where God wants you to be.
I have to agree up to appoint. The bottom line is how much are they willing to take care of it there self. Maybe after a few months maybe they let you take it for much last then they want to.
But they are making money changing the oil ! Case in hand they charged me so much money for an air filter, and my brother in law looked up in an auto parts store and filter say $14 and I pay $44 when they break all the charges down! Now you know they are getting discount because they are buying in quantity ! But still making a 500% profit ! Just rip offs ! Big corporate greed !
The new manager might contact the scrapyard to arrange for a securable skip to be dropped off for the rotors and other bits to be put in. That way, the shop gets full value. This is how it works in the UK.

The new manager was probably put there to increase profit but that's his responsibility not yours. Sometimes we have to close one door to allow room for the next opportunity. Good luck. 👍
Great lesson for all of us, Paul. And thanks for the pray about "out of sortness". I've been out of sort some this week. My brother and his wife have been sick with covid, and I worry. When I worry, I get as cranky as a wet hen on a hot rock (old expression from my childhood). And I then remember what someone once said to me - don't worry, pray. Have a great Labor Day, Paul.
Thank you Paul I had not heard Natalie sing that song before. Her voice always brings a smile to me; You are very lucky to have met her she was a treasure.
Ever since your friend passed and you play her music, I think to myself what a special heartfelt tribute to her memory. I personally like her music. And I know that is a great way to remember someone special 🌷
AYYY Paul, so good to hang out with you today. I say, don't pay for scrap, after a few weeks they will come to you and be glad to get the scrap out of their way, they, or should I say - the new manager needs to realize that you are doing them a service and as such are a valued member of the community. take care my friend.
Nice haul paul don't ever pay for scrap brother they should pay you to haul it off.beside they know its hazardous waste becouse of the brake dust.they should be honored to have you haul it away for free. Stay safe,God bless you and your family brother
Thank you for the wisdom...My dad used to always tell us that idle hands are the devil's playground...he always had projects for us to do, and we loved him for teaching us to serve others, and the rewards will come back ten fold!!
Your first pickup made me smile! I love your channel and watch you all the time. Can't stand it when I miss a video. I have to go back and binge 'til I'm caught up again. 😊Stay safe and healthy, Paul, and keep being you -- you are gold!
I like how you take the time to stop and talk to people. I try to do the same. It's respectful and I love to hear people's stories and experiences. Everyone is always in a hurry nowadays. Nice to see you do this.👍
God bless my Dad! He was a scrapper too. He passed away 5 yes ago, he was 98!! He'd be yellen at the neighborhood kids to get their asses over there and help him put that stuff in his truck!!! Oh, the memories
Thanks for praying after your scrapping! That is so Cool! You just don’t see grateful hearts like that in many videos like this. What great parenting advice too 👍🏻. Keep up the Good Work
It blows my mind when I see the mountains of steel that would have ended up in your landfill it wasn't for scrapers like you! Great job Paul! Keep up the good work!
Great video Paul. Here's a hint/trick I use. I tie a small piece of shoe string through the holes on my hard drive magnets. makes it alot easier to pull off metal when they are stuck. give it a try. 🙂
My Dad tried to teach me the knot with the rabbit over the log around the tree and up through the hole, I think. Was a long time ago so really don’t remember it now. 😂
Paul, I have 2 very attractive veterans that went around to ALL the auto repair shops in my metro area, as well as the body shops. Because we are VETS, like yourself, everybody except a couple willingly give us their scrap metal for the writeoff. What's important to them is that we're not here today , gone tomorrow, again ,like you .
Wow, you've gone so far since I first started watching you. I dont have the time on my hands to watch you like I used to, but I still watch a vid and drop a like here and there. Great content Paul, keep it coming!
Maybe I am taking this the wrong way but if there is any changes involved I would have thought they should be paying you to have the brake discs collected. To charge you for collecting seems the wrong way round to me.
It's basic business. They have scrap which has a value of X which they are currently getting rid off for nothing. By selling it to Paul at $20 per load, they are making some money whilst not having the hassle of taking it to the scrapyard themselves. If Paul switches to a monthly collection, then he makes $380 after their cut. If he keeps to weekly, Paul makes less, but they make more.
@@ramblingman8992 Yes, its a bit of a double edged sword. They should be paying Paul to take the rotars away as he is providing the service for them. But I suppose at least that way everyone gets a share of the pot so both parties win. Good point.
You are amazing. You lift me up every time I see one of your videos. You have it figured out. And what you don't have figured out you leave it to God, THE ALMIGHTY FIXER. TY for being you, and God bless you.
I say no to paying for the scrap you pick up at the garage. Haven't they already been paid for new roters from the customer. Kinda getting paid twice looks like to me. That's my 2 cents worth. Love the videos. Hang in there Paul! ❤👍🙏🎸
shops have to pay to get rid of tires, they hit you with that fee. most shops sub out the disposal to someone else. either by contract or some arrangement. same goes for rotors, rims. they dont have any requirement to just give their scrap away
Hope you’re enjoying your time off, Paul, and, immersing yourself in copious amounts of tranquility too. We miss you but you deserve a break from all the hard work! Know you are loved and remembered in our prayers!
Wow what a truck load. I would definitely live in that Paul. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep recycling. Keep picking. Keep recycling. Keep scraping. Scrap On. Keep making. God bless.
Your scrap mess looks a lot neater than some peoples houses who don’t scrap. 🙂 As far as picking up the rotors from the chain outfit. I would leave them a container like a plastic barrel or box. Give your name and number to the manager. When the container is full you have a pre-agreed upon price to pick it up when the store calls. Make it fair for yourself price wise, so your not doing it for nothing. This way on months with few brake jobs you’re not making empty runs, and some months you may several runs. Be conservative on the percentage that you pay the shop, explain it’s to account for your costs and fluctuating steel prices. Now the shop can advertise to their customers that they recycle too.
This seems to be the wisest way if he has to pay at all. If the barrel will hold enough to cover the cost and make a profit. What is his past experiences?
@@donvoll2580 I was going to say, maybe manager could have a hand in on it. If manager just trying to help save a couple bucks fine. But if trying to make someone else to pay to get rid of there trash, doesn't work that way. Probably doesn't understand that steel, cast and tin you don't get anything for. Some places you may have to pay to get rid of tin (white metal).
Brother Paul how did you know that I needed that prayer today. I have been going through days where I have been feeling grumpy and mad, for no reason. God must have put it in your heart to pray this prayer. God bless you.
Great video Paul. Love how the content flows. Enjoy when Rick accompanies you and I'm a huge Syracuse fan. Best part, praises before prices! Keep up the great work!
Wow your message at the end really hit me with meaning today. Thank you for wisdom I lost my only sorce of income this week at 66 years of age and was feeling down. . Thank you Paul.
You are helping them and it is positive for their business when their customers know they recycle and support the environment. So it's up to you but I would rethink this arrangement. Thank You for all you do Paul. Have a great holiday weekend.
I think they are expanding their offerings into other miracles too. Apparently a scrapper in Texas did Paul the honor of mimicking him. Influential people have that effect.
Thanks paul for the "preaching" it was worth listening. Keep those teenagers on the right track .thanks for the prayer too .keep us on the right track .
Hey Paul 🙋🏽. This WAS a very good haul ‼️ Enjoy the rest of your day ‼️🙋🏽 I wouldn't pay to pick up scrap. THEY need your service. You don't need theirs.
I always thought to take time to talk with people can make that person's day. That play house is very good craftsmanship. He had a n idea and it turned out beautifully.
Paul, liked your story about the Texan Picker borrowing your snap tool. He is a favorite picker on my list. I watched his video about needing a tool like yours. By your example, he closes every one of his videos with prayer. This was another good video. 😊😊😊
Don't pay for your scrap. You've done very well so far without paying anyone. When the stuff starts to pile up they will call you back or take it to the scrapyard themselves. I doubt that their mechanics will want to haul scrap. The cost to them in time and effort isn't worth it for their bottom line. The new manager is trying to squeeze you to improve his numbers. Don't let him.
The next thing the "idiot" shop manager will probably try is to charge the customer a disposal fee. I always demanded my old parts be put in the trunk, to 1st prove they were really replaced, and second, to keep some "pos" like this guy from capitalizing on my repairs and I would recycle the scrap myself!
yea some employee will gladly haul the scrap off for free. they arent driving around looking for it, they know what is there and what isnt worth the time to take. school district here used to give me their scrap, now the grounds and park guys take it on work hours and pocket the cash
i caught that last little bit of your video, as a co worker enjoys your videos. as do i in passing. but your message reached me! much respect. the was a reason you felt the urge to share those words. and again, it is appreciated! congrats to your childs wisdom and growth as well! many blessings
PAUL: My thought on this agrees with many other viewers. I would not advise you to pay for the rotors. The first thing I thought of is he going to want cash to out it in his pocket. Let the company pile them up and see if the new guy takes them to the scrap yard. After one month of piling up, he'll call you to clear out his shop. In the interim find another location to set up the same deal. Please don't let the new guy win Good luck. Elaine from Florida 👍😎🌴
Or they could call the scrap yard and have them put thier own metal dumpster there which they empty when full and pay them well for the scrap. So that's another option for them.
Once again Paul, many thanks for another entertaining video, probably one of the best starts to your channel. Keep playing the angels music Paul. God bless from 🇪🇸
My opinion of paying to pick up their scrap is wrong. I would let that store pile up till he gets tired of it. Always someone who takes away from others. You had a fantastic haul. Take care and have a great weekend. Hugs to all.🥰
Cool vídeo, Paul. I enjoyed it a lot, especially the end conversation. Thanks for sharing the beautiful moment with your son. Your friend from Bahia, Brazil
That’s an interesting question that I’ve wondered as well! So they want you to start paying… id be excited about possibly expanding and doing pickups at their other locations if you can work it out. Monthly sounds way better though so it doesn’t create the friction point you identified. Wild to see such a huge pile of crutches though, I thought those were pretty valuable to resell because you don’t have universal coverage for them down there?
In Jersey where I am it goes in the dumpster. Auto Zone Advanced Auto both stores. Basically they have to pay for it to be taken away ( 2x weekly dumpster pick up) I would do some research of other stores to see what's up . Sounds like somebody is trying to get paid for someone else's LABOR.......
It sounds like you've done basic calculation and if it's profitable, I'd pay a fee but expand to the other stores in the region. If the new person is a jerk, then I'd tell them to buzz off and visit other companies/small businesses/the mechanic shop's competition and see what you can arrange. You have a good personality and people like you so it shouldn't be difficult.
@@lindam_in_michigan3703 just gotta feel it out right? It doesn’t sound like the new guy is a jerk, he stepped into it willing to discuss arrangements.
@@neenster1000 that’s the thing right, for most places it is a *waste product*. So Paul could call the bluff if he doesn’t think they’d actually consider calling the scrapyard to place a perpetual bin in the back lot, but I still think there’s potentially huge value in expanding the relationship and locking in more locations
hi Paul thanks for all your great work you do by keeping scrap away from landfill. as for paying someone to take their scrap away is a big no no. Good health and god bless you 🙏
34:40 Now THAT is a good idea. (my dad's entire extended family worked for the Erie at one point.) When I was a kid I'd have liked that playhouse. Or more to the point my dad would have.
Hi Paul! I watch you all the time. I live about 45 mins. From you in Byron, Illinois. I think your channel is great and always very positive! I think it would be cool if you put the word SCRAP on your lift gate in the closed position. I noticed it has 5 perfect spots for it.
Paul, I truly appreciate the little snippets you've inserted into your videos. Always a fun surprise. (And this one I actually pictured that very scene when you said it, too. Yay!) ♥
often times, chain stores leave decisions up to manager's. Office depot near me throws out all the school supplies they dont sell by Oct, the new mgr has his own guy now that comes and gets it. used to be first come first gets it
I wish I was the FedEx man there in your area, I'd be telling you where the scrap was lol. And I'd be on TH-cam 😎 Anywho, I love that artsy bike you picked up. Have a great day and God bless.
Yeah I kept the artsy bike. I have several garbage man, the mailman, and others texting me where Scrap is. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. I need another truck and driver lol
You might suggest to them they charge the trash haulers a fee also. Or, they recycle their own parts. I think they are being disrespectful to you. I am sorry you depend on persons like these.
the shop already pays a trash removal fee. the trash company is providing them a service. services arent free. scrap is still worth something, the shop doesnt have to give it away for free. Ive made plenty of deals with shops, landscapers to take their scrap. its about the feasibility of the deal
Hi Paul, tell the “G” man, living on the coast of Oregon, our storms comes with sideway rain. In from Ca. we hardly ever got rain. I had to get use to all the storms. Also I’m glad you up graded to the newer snap-o-matic. 😀 love and appreciate you humor. Thank you.
Maybe ask the Auto Shop if they'd go for a percentage deal. Maybe give them 15 percent of gross. If they're a chain, maybe it'd lead to more opportunities. I'd get it in writing though... Love your work! Blessings.
I think it’s still well worth it, if you can get $200 for scrapping the rotors and only pay $20 to pick them up. We had to split ours 50/50. We got $533 for 3 tons and split it down the middle. Keep scrappin’ friend! (I see fudge in your future) 😊😋
I do this with our in house electricians at work. I take their scrap, give em $50 every 6 months and 5% of the gross. everybody wins. they leave scrap wire for me in huge pile, I pick it up process it. no wasted time driving around to find maybe a foot piece of romex every time I go out
Also, does the garage charge a core fee? Sorry, I am suspicious of everyone, so it sounds like this person is looking for more money on top of what the garage already charges. You are taking his garbage away at no cost, this keeps mechanics happy..they get to have a clean work area. You, on the other hand are dealing with very heavy garbage...recycle or not, it is still garbage. Sorry about the multiple posts, but this R. manager either has no idea about your efficiency to keep the mechanics in a clean happy place, or they are looking to line their pocket with extra cash.
Amen! Nice scrap haul Paul. I love when you take time out and talk with others. Often my son will ask should I buy this and I’ll say do you want it or do you need it he’ll think about it say forget it I don’t need it he works and yes I will give he money when he does things around the house so I see where you’re coming from Paul with the youngest. Thank you for everything you do love the story about the snap tool. Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend 😊
Holy crutches! I dk what you should do with picking up from a shop. Seems like a small price but your service is definitely needed. I'm sure they'd hate to do it themselves.
This bothered me all these medical supplies.we have a rescue mission that people donate this mdse too and people who need these items can go and use them free of charge till their done and resonate back to them.tbey sign a paper and show id.

And, thank you for your sense of humor.
Thank you for the wisdom...My dad used to always tell us that idle hands are the devil's playground...he always had projects for us to do, and we loved him for teaching us to serve others, and the rewards will come back ten fold!!
That's a good dad right there. Thanks for sharing

I have read alot of the comments and I say no on having to pay. You provide a service and they should pay you to haul their waste.
God bless you Paul! Thank you for your prayers! Sending prayers for good health and happiness for you and your family.
Great video Paul. Here's a hint/trick I use. I tie a small piece of shoe string through the holes on my hard drive magnets. makes it alot easier to pull off metal when they are stuck. give it a try. 🙂
Thanks for the knot lesson! I understand stuff a lot better when the rabbits get involved .
My Dad tried to teach me the knot with the rabbit over the log around the tree and up through the hole, I think. Was a long time ago so really don’t remember it now. 😂
12 cents per pound. And the rotor weighs about 20 lb
Good point.
@@DSCC007 And this way he has a secure source. "Sorry Phil, Wisco, and Rambler. This account is Paul's"

Yep,,just greedy
shops have to pay to get rid of tires, they hit you with that fee. most shops sub out the disposal to someone else. either by contract or some arrangement. same goes for rotors, rims. they dont have any requirement to just give their scrap away
Hope you’re enjoying your time off, Paul, and, immersing yourself in copious amounts of tranquility too. We miss you but you deserve a break from all the hard work! Know you are loved and remembered in our prayers!
Definitely don’t pay one cent Paul. Thanks for another great video.
As far as picking up the rotors from the chain outfit.
Corporate is just getting greedy🤦
@@lisacates4185 How do we know it was corporate & not just , manager,
yes leaving bin there would be a good idea. Thanks
Look at the number of thumbs up on Dave's suggestion. Good workable thinker.
Brother Paul how did you know that I needed that prayer today. I have been going through days where I have been feeling grumpy and mad, for no reason. God must have put it in your heart to pray this prayer. God bless you.

You are helping them and it is positive for their business when their customers know they recycle and support the environment. So it's up to you but I would rethink this arrangement. Thank You for all you do Paul. Have a great holiday weekend.
I appreciate the extra Bible lessons at the end! Thanks brother! Be you!
I love the snap tool custom services.. They are alway so helpful..
I think they are expanding their offerings into other miracles too.
Apparently a scrapper in Texas did Paul the honor of mimicking him.
Influential people have that effect.
YAY the soap making kit will make a nice gift for someone, love your channel 😁
they should be paying you to pick up their scrap rotors
Thanks paul for the "preaching" it was worth listening. Keep those teenagers on the right track .thanks for the prayer too .keep us on the right track .
Hey Paul 🙋🏽. This WAS a very good haul ‼️ Enjoy the rest of your day ‼️🙋🏽 I wouldn't pay to pick up scrap. THEY need your service. You don't need theirs.

The room with a view was Beautiful
Have a great weekend!
I always thought to take time to talk with people can make that person's day. That play house is very good craftsmanship. He had a n idea and it turned out beautifully.
Sounds like a scam Paul. Consider, if they had to call someone to pick up their scrap, they would probably have to pay them to take it.
Exactly what I think. They would need a skip bin and they have to hire them.
Paul, liked your story about the Texan Picker borrowing your snap tool. He is a favorite picker on my list. I watched his video about needing a tool like yours. By your example, he closes every one of his videos with prayer. This was another good video. 😊😊😊
Paul's positive influence spreads around the world.
Exactly! He's trying to move up by raising the profit margin or pocket it himself. No one makes trash haulers buy their trash to haul it away.
Not true…
God bless from 🇪🇸
totally agree.
verbal cleverosity on this one was up there.
Thub there is a big demand for them with shortages right now.
Thanks for taking us along today
paul i think that bike is yard art.
hi Paul thanks for all your great work you do by keeping scrap away from landfill. as for paying someone to take their scrap away is a big no no. Good health and god bless you 🙏

it is a loss to them. sure they writing it off as a loss but alot of corporations / companies still want something for scrap

Voice over? I'm not exactly sure what that is. The video and audio is happening at the exact same time. The microphone is in the camera

Yeah it’s just been so weird this year with the rain. It never seems to just rain anymore it’s always a flash flood or nothing.
Maybe ask the Auto Shop if they'd go for a percentage deal. Maybe give them 15 percent of gross. If they're a chain, maybe it'd lead to more opportunities. I'd get it in writing though... Love your work! Blessings.
Lol! Love the joke about Juan and the snao tool!! Texan picker from Houston where Im from. Lol

You need to charge them to pick it up. Your doing them a service. That regional manager has it backwards.
Hi Paul! I so enjoy the snap tool discussions! 😝 Have a great weekend! ❤
I think it’s still well worth it, if you can get $200 for scrapping the rotors and only pay $20 to pick them up. We had to split ours 50/50. We got $533 for 3 tons and split it down the middle. Keep scrappin’ friend! (I see fudge in your future) 😊😋

I wouldn't buy it after a while dude will see what you're truly doing keeping store cleaned out
I like to see The Scrappers dig because there's so much stuff to be found and it's fun so dig dig scrappers.
