    Hey thub big props for informing the viewers on the the ac unit with refrigerant in it. I’m an hvac tech/pipefitter and most of my scrap is from ac coils. You’ll need a recovery machine, recovery cylinder, piercing valves, a set of manifold gauges and your epa license. With all that you can recover refrigerant from any type of equipment. And there’s a fee for exchanging cylinders once full and youll need a few cylinders so you don’t mix refrigerants. It ain’t cheap… but it’s worth it. If at all possible make friends with an hvac tech I’m sure he wouldn’t mind helping you out for a few bucks once you have a decent pile of them!! Keep on scrapping!!

    The ABSOLUTE BEST to cut aluminium door frames - or just aluminium in general - is a skillsaw with a decent but used wood blade. Hold the guard up, safety glasses and a bit of a grip on it and you are done in 2 minutes!
    I used to work at a fab shop where we produced brand new citern tankers out of aluminium.. whenever we have a bad or unaesthetic weld, we would rip it in seconds with one pass of a skillsaw. it was a required piece of tooling for any welders on day one. Shop would provide quality, balanced blades tho but that just made the cuts thinner and more precise for a subsequent weld bead.

    • @thubprint
      @thubprint  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve read that some folks reverse the blade when using for aluminium, not sure what that would help. Not something your shop cared to try?

    • @b0rd3n
      @b0rd3n ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thubprint i must say i've also heard that but i don't believe i found a need to try since aluminium is so soft and not the gummy type like brass per example. Either ways, i believe, if you ain't shy about presenting the spinning carbides, will result in a much faster and less consummable dense way of cutting the type of scrap like door frames etc.
      Have you personally had an occasion to use either methods on aluminium? It's scary at first and goes againts all principles it seems but mzn does it do a great and fast work of sitting/gouging/channeling into alu!
      Take care, enjoy yourself!

    I enjoy a good movie, on occasion, and stripping copper wire, no matter the gauge, is a nice way to get paid to watch it. It totally freaks me out that you don't strip your 12 gauge. It's so fast and easy. I strip all copper wire. Remember, I do it while enjoying a movie, which is something I do even if I'm not processing scrap. I have stripping machine.

    What's up the tailgate?
    If the plastic crap inside the latch broke, take the handle off, detach the two rods, and scrap the handle.
    Squeeze the two rods together to open the gate.
    As for the ac unit. Isn't there an HVAC contractor who will collect the refrigerant? It can be reclaimed. I don't know if the contractor pays, but wouldn't it be kind of like scrapping?
