The PS2 has a Force Open hole that you insert the end of a large paper clip and PUSH until it pushes the tray open. Doing that may free it up moving forward, but at the very least you can see if there's a Disc inside.
I'm a 26 year-old dude born and raised in Japan, my parents didn't feed me too much of the latest gaming consoles growing up. So naturally SEGA Saturn, Super FamiCom which my parents already had before having me and PS2 was all I got. This video gave me so much nostalgia! Thanks Austin!!
The sheer happiness of Austin reliving his childhood glory days made me smile big time. This TH-cam channel is just a tax write off for Austin's inner deep desires and I love it.
Pokemon Stadium in Japan never went outside of Japan and only had 75 Pokemon out of 150. The Pokemon Stadium 1 that the West got is actually Pokemon Stadium 2 in Japan and the Pokemon Stadium 2 that came to the West is actually Pokemon Stadium 3 in Japan
1:56 so was the price reduction/cheaper option that Sendico offered you on the shipping an "Austin Evans" type deal? Or do they do that for all their customers if the shipping cost comes up expensive?
Yes , on Ebay right now you'd pay around $70-$90 just for the bare core PCE unit with no cables , controller or power supply and especially no cd unit or interface unit . I've not seen something like that sold at that low of a price ,for the past 5 years at least .
Omg I actually had those installation floppies till not so many years ago. Tho, it shouldn't be so hard to find a windows 3.1 installation around the web and then burn it into like 20 floppy disks, lol. Or does he need to install dos first? This I don't know
The Saturn is in my opinion the most underrated console of all time, definitely cool to one in good nick for so cheap. Mine cost quite a bit more but I've cherished it for years. Love it way more than the N64 and it's on par with the PS1 for me.
That Super Famicom probably works, the contacts were probably dirty. There isn't a home screen like the PlayStation 2, so if the contacts are not contacting it would just show a black screen. That's why we used to blow in the carts. Shit happens with my retro collection all the time.
In Japan you can get a special edition fully functional PS2 for like $5 while in Australia you have to fork over about $100 for a PS2 that won't read the blue discs and the disc tray rattles
12:34 It can pass 1000 years, but that sound is the sound of the gods... I got the same reaction like him, when i hear that boot sound. Long Live the PS !!!
The problem with the PS2 is that the ejector bands typically need replacing nowadays, lubrication done to the actuator for the lens and the lens itself will sometimes need a clean
From the expression Austin makes every time he hears the start up sound from a vintage computer/operating system or console I'm pretty sure he needs a cigarette and to do laundry on his britches.
Nice to see some love for the Sega Saturn. I still have my Sega Saturn and N64 from around 1998. My first experience with the N64 was playing Yoshi's Story in Japanese at Toy's R US.
That super famicom probably works fine. Clean the game and the cartridge slot with some isopropyl 90+. Old toothbrush for the connector and some qtip or gamecard for the game.
Yeah that's what I said, I feel like he was expecting to see a home screen like the "newer" consoles had. Didn't even think to blow in the damn cart lol
One thing to note about getting a bunch of Super Famicom controllers that makes them not as nice as you'd think; In japan you were expected to place the console on the table, not by the tv, so the cables are suuuuuper short and inconvenient to use.
The Racing game that was put into the Silver PS2 was Called "Choro Q" and was available in the US, a similar game was "Road Trip". I played both of these as a kid and they were fun as heck!! Also would be cool if LGR did a Collab on some old Mystery box tech. The Fujitsu Laptop would be right up his alley
@@gotmilk20091 I have a Copy of Road trip still and a Ps2 I Restored last year. It really is a fun game! You can just drive forever in it which is really cool
got to love consoles that don't have disc drives. Worst case scenario you replace some capacitors, and they'll be fine. Good luck finding mechanisms and laser units...
Manne that would be me everytime I order a bunch of stuff you just see an evil version of me standing behind me whispering, "Don't forget the pokemon cards"
I don't comment often. I just want to say that I appreciate you marking your sponsorships with chapters. It makes them easy to skip! (Acronis doesn't make anything worthwhile for my operating system, so they're not of any interest to me.)
Be careful. Some of the early 3D gaming consoles from Japan were known to cause seizures in people with photosensitivities. Kids over in Japan were biting the dust left and right all over the place before they really understood the problems and fixed them and sent them over to the United States. Lol
Ok I'm ready for the next video editing has to be done release please....😂 joking but for real, love you and your team's work great videos and you can see the work put in and y'all have put into each video even the shorts are attention grabbing even videos that are not my favorite for topic are enjoyable. Keep up the great work team....and thank you for hours of great entertainment.
lol, the existential crisis moment when Austin realized 94 was 30 years ago really resonated with me.... i go through that often haha!
This 😂😂
me to right when he said it i was like well shit......
yeah... I'm 30 this year...
O
I was in High School 31 years ago. 😦
Austin in 10 years, going to jail for embazlement after buying Pokémon cards as a company expense. 😂
Don't worry, he films it as proof so he's good 😂
He'd have to keep them out of the video first.😂
True!
snitches get stitches yo
Not if the company sells the cards to him at cost, or donates them to Austin... Then it's legal.
12:33 I had the same reaction as Austin, it was always nerve racking when booting up a game and not immediately hearing the PS2 sound. 😅
The PS2 has a Force Open hole that you insert the end of a large paper clip and PUSH until it pushes the tray open. Doing that may free it up moving forward, but at the very least you can see if there's a Disc inside.
Basically just like any CD/DVD-ROM drive ever made huh?
@@kobisjeruk Well Austin dosent seem to know or didn't care or think about it😂
@@hugomyllykangas8442 A trick to generate comments I guess
Super easy to fix those drives too and long as you're brave enough to open the console
Or basically a SIM ejection hole for consoles and PCs.
I'm a 26 year-old dude born and raised in Japan, my parents didn't feed me too much of the latest gaming consoles growing up.
So naturally SEGA Saturn, Super FamiCom which my parents already had before having me and PS2 was all I got.

Thanks Austin!!
A lot of Westerners are obsessed with the N64 and don't realize that the Saturn was much more popular than the N64 in Japan!
I never liker Nintendo, always chose Sega :)
The sheer happiness of Austin reliving his childhood glory days made me smile big time. This TH-cam channel is just a tax write off for Austin's inner deep desires and I love it.

Huh never knew that little tidbit. Nice to know
I was hoping someone put this in the comments. Calling it an "Alpha" and "0" are just wrong.

The sound of the disc drive on that one PS2 brings back the same amount of memories as the startup
I work at FedEx and can say that 340 for international shipping is a steal
$102 for that PCE setup is a great price. I'd have gone for that.

16:17 Of course Austin would make a Talladega Nights reference... at Daytona. 😂
Can we take a moment and realize that Austin is one of the few tubers that dazzles us with great shirt choices like rubber duckies. 😂

Thank you Austin for reminding me I turn 30 this year. Really nice of you bud 😢🎉
"We just spit on it, and tossed it in a box"

I would love to see you go to Japan and browse the incredible stores they have there and find the best version of a bunch of old gaming tech!
he has!
About the Fujitsu f mr-50 nbx
Its a small desktop which was released in 1987 and had 3.1 dos. And they started at around ¥400,000 yen
Omg I actually had those installation floppies till not so many years ago.

same. that was my high school console I picked up in 99
Dreamcast then Saturn. But I do agree the Saturn was amazing

So where is part 2?
The Game and Watch unlocked some core memories. My siblings and I had “Fire” and “Octopus” they were so cool
5:51 try to build an sleeper gaming laptop with it.
I think it would look petty awesome. 🔥🔥🔥
He should definitely mod the Fujitsu notebook into a modern day powerhouse completely with an 8k oled monitor.
The best Game and Watch was “Snoopy Tennis”
16:58 what's that third n64 virtual console game? Majoras mask, ocarina of time and...?

"Help me, Tom Cruise! Help me, Oprah Winfrey!" 🤣

What you called the PC Engine CD, is actually the PC Engine Duo. It has both the CD addon and the original console.
That super famicom probably works fine. Clean the game and the cartridge slot with some isopropyl 90+. Old toothbrush for the connector and some qtip or gamecard for the game.

the fact austin switched shirts mid video caught me by surprise
I can literally smell the dust in those PS2's... Truly surprised Austin didn't do a smell test on them! 😂
Tbh I'm surprised we didn't get a sniff on any of the game consoles! 😂
𝙰𝚖 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎
I think there needs to be a contest of how many times Austin changes his shirt. 😁
i still have somewhere 3 or 4 of the game and watches even have one that folds to open.
Thank you for all the great content
Playstation needs to give me the option to have my PS5 boot with that PS1 sound
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel
I love this video and channel
Thanks you for your video and channel
You are such a goof ball man lmao when u started singing the smash theme it genuinely made me laugh

There was also an arcade-exclusive Ridge Racer game featuring Choro Q cars if I remember

apparently the fujitsu FM pc used MS-DOS3.1 (or could use it)

Can you do mystery snacks next?
They used those fujitsu computers in the post office. Excellent product.....
There's just something special about that playstation intro. Chills
Damn I work for FedEx unloading and loading trucks. That was your stuff? Lmao
Of course you do, Jordan.
You should do a video where you attempt to renew the yellowed plastic

lmao Austin holds the n64 controller wrong.
@AustinEvans
That SuperFam needs a deep clean and maybe even a capacitor swap. I'll bet once you give it some TLC, it'll be fine.
𝙰𝚖 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎.
Could you make that laptop into a sleeper PC? Looks like there could be enough space for decent components and cooling.

please show more SEGA stuff!! Nintendo is all around of any where but SEGA stuff are like gold also way amazing
Is that Red ball on the shelf a volcano glass sphere? I just watched a video on how they make those which was real cool

man 16$ for 3 & 177$ for 9 consoles u be lucky to get 1 or even 2 for this price on dkoldies if even... but at least u may get a 16$ sticker.

Is sendico just like from Japan?
Whats the postage cost?

May I ask what TV set Austin uses for these tests with the old consoles? It looks amazing! Does anyone know?
