As was said previously even dead candidates keep their names on the ballot papers (and get votes). So there'll be a lot of 'dead' Torry candidates this time. 'Dead' in terms of their chances of success.

He previously said in relation to the Morgan bet that "I'm not a betting person" and yet that is exactly what he did as a career before he entered politics. He just didn't do it in a betting shop, he wore a suit and went to an office and gambled with our economy.

God's teeth! How much more of this must we endure? Watching this, as well as the continued unfolding misery of this Party's implosion, I'm reminded of the 1960s New Christy Minstrels song, 'Three Wheels on my Wagon', as it seems that whatever disaster occurs within the Tory Party ranks, Sunak carries on as if nothing is happening or refusing to face up to, or deal, with the truth! 'An I'm still rolling along..... ' It's politics of the perverse!

The Gaming Commission does not decide on guilt, they pass on any suspicious action deemed serious enough to the police to investigate. Probably the Metropolitan Police? You know that force who were so keen to investigate the party gate allegations, even though some of their officers were witness to the incidents but didn't report them, let alone issue fixed penalty notices on the spot. Those that they reluctantly found to be guilty of breaking the "law" didn't resign anyway! Including our then and now PMs!

I think you may be slipping a bit here. "we should accommodate them", "the path they have chosen, or was chosen for them", etc. We should NOT be "accommodating" of gender expression or identity - it should be a complete non issue; not something in need of "accommodation". The seeming near afterthought, and certainly second place thought, of "or was chosen for them" is rather weak as well. For example: being gay is NOT something that was "chosen" for you, it is what you are in PRECISELY the same way as not being gay was not chosen for you. Forgive the rant, but Merle Miller was a friend of our family, and I was blessed with being brought up without any trace of that flavor of bigotry.

The PM plainly condones this behaviour, as in the past and now, he eventually and reluctantly will eventually suspend these disgraceful individuals, but he plainly accepts corruption with no accountability and is surrounded with moral lacking individuals with no integrity or respect for the public or country, just as for the last 14 year of self serving ministers, there to fill their pockets

Sunak managed another huge lie earlier by claiming, when asked whether he had ever bet on politics himself while an MP, he replied: “No.” (Source: The Grauniad). Now, we aleady know from the Covid inquiry that Sunak suffers selective memory loss, but here he seems to have convieniently forgotten the bet he placed with Piers Morgan on live TV just a few months ago. He received a lot of flack for it at the time but has clearly failed to learn from such a simple schoolboy error.

In my humble view, the issue here is what comes from the top. This generation of Number 10 ites don't appear to have had standards set out. eg. Why did Allegra what her name think it was ok to be involved in parties? Because no one had told her it wasn't. Why have these people laid these bets? Because no one told them not to. I have seen many many tribunals and disciplinary hearings, in which the Subject has played the "no one told me I couldn't" card. And it worked. I worked in a place in which a poster stated "If there's no rule to say you can't, then you can". I took it down and supplemented the toilet roll with it.That's the world we live in, therefore, any leader has to set out their stall, and stick to it.

4:07. There's a difference between respecting those of 'us' who are different and respecting the views of the clear majority. A tiny minority can't expect the majority to 'bend' to their wishes when they choose not to. It may be 'ideology' but it's perfectly acceptable that biological women do not want to have to compete with trans women. Neither should they have to share toilet/changing room facilities with a trans woman. Respect works both ways. Why is it not 'expected' that trans women should show respect.

Professor, how this is not classified as gross misconduct which as an employee you can at a minimum be suspended if not sacked. There is a problem on the employment status of a parliamentary candidate if they are employees of the party.
