Sunak was surrounded by security and he looked frightened to death on his visit to Edinburgh. Pitiful.
Who could have guessed that the hill the Tories would choose to die on would be William Hill?
They got seduced by Paddy Power.
As was said previously even dead candidates keep their names on the ballot papers (and get votes). So there'll be a lot of 'dead' Torry candidates this time. 'Dead' in terms of their chances of success.
You've made that comment before but it's still funny. That said Wilson has repeated the Ledsom comment five times now. I checked.
@@therepublicofcynica I like the William Hill joke. It still has a few weeks, or maybe a few months of life in it. Or is it death in it?
They could have died on a Coral Reef
My grandmother went on a mystery coach tour. They had a competition to guess the destination. The driver won £100.
Sunak says he never bet on Politics? Wait a minute didn’t he bet with Piers Morgan that the Rwandan plan would work, isn’t that Politics!
He previously said in relation to the Morgan bet that "I'm not a betting person" and yet that is exactly what he did as a career before he entered politics. He just didn't do it in a betting shop, he wore a suit and went to an office and gambled with our economy.
Exactly....for a PM, Sunak has a woefully short memory?
There is no excuse for this abuse of positions.
They gamble with our lives every day
God's teeth! How much more of this must we endure? Watching this, as well as the continued unfolding misery of this Party's implosion, I'm reminded of the 1960s New Christy Minstrels song, 'Three Wheels on my Wagon', as it seems that whatever disaster occurs within the Tory Party ranks, Sunak carries on as if nothing is happening or refusing to face up to, or deal, with the truth! 'An I'm still rolling along..... ' It's politics of the perverse!
The Gaming Commission does not decide on guilt, they pass on any suspicious action deemed serious enough to the police to investigate. Probably the Metropolitan Police? You know that force who were so keen to investigate the party gate allegations, even though some of their officers were witness to the incidents but didn't report them, let alone issue fixed penalty notices on the spot. Those that they reluctantly found to be guilty of breaking the "law" didn't resign anyway! Including our then and now PMs!
Sunak boasted the guilty one's would be booted out of the Tory party, that of course hasn't happened because he's delaying, but some might lose their seats.
Oh,how the mighty have fallen. 🤔
He truly is finished as Leader
I think you may be slipping a bit here. "we should accommodate them", "the path they have chosen, or was chosen for them", etc. We should NOT be "accommodating" of gender expression or identity - it should be a complete non issue; not something in need of "accommodation". The seeming near afterthought, and certainly second place thought, of "or was chosen for them" is rather weak as well. For example: being gay is NOT something that was "chosen" for you, it is what you are in PRECISELY the same way as not being gay was not chosen for you. Forgive the rant, but Merle Miller was a friend of our family, and I was blessed with being brought up without any trace of that flavor of bigotry.
Those thoughts you gave about how to treat people whether they are different or the same as "us" is exactly the world I was brought up in 50 years ago. I call that soft socialism.
The PM plainly condones this behaviour, as in the past and now, he eventually and reluctantly will eventually suspend these disgraceful individuals, but he plainly accepts corruption with no accountability and is surrounded with moral lacking individuals with no integrity or respect for the public or country, just as for the last 14 year of self serving ministers, there to fill their pockets
Jail can follow in the fullness of time...
I certainly hope so .
Just think how much BoZo and his besties could have pocketed if only he hadn’t been found out and forced to resign!!
One other thing, I want Sunak out, not next week but right now. However, I will not countenance any racism directed at him, or his family, or anyone else.
At the end of the day there only human 😊
It’s going to be interesting when the truth comes out.
I wonder if FOI requests to gambling firms would happen in time for the election.
But really does it matter? I spoke to two Americans in Austria one tourist and one emigre and they voted for trump and it didn’t matter what the 34 felony verdict brought. ‘At least he has opinions…’
Assume that your Conservative candidate is one of those that are being investigated..........and give your vote to another party's candidate...............that will serve the Devious Party right.....yes that is what one would call "taring everyone (tory party) with the same brush".
It's politics, not real life. The mere rumour of impropriety is enough.
If you replace “rumour” with “appearance” it would be a more accurate rule; like a judge recusing themself.
😂😂😂😂😂
Your better off with a Labour government
Its more sleaze....more indignity.
These oeople should be the cream of the crop with good morals.
Also the starmer vs sunak debates are just so undifnified when they start bickering like teenagers trying to get the lsst word....you can feel the audiences despair through the tv.
One guy lsst night hit the nail on the head about these two leaders...." is this the best we can do?"
If we were to be multicultural, why is bint such a bad word? It means daughter in Arabic.
These individual are bloody stupid. In this day and age it is so easy to ascertain whether or not they placed bets, without the need for a lengthy investigation.
Don't these posh people understand morals and ethics?
Posh People! Most are the nouveau riche
@@jonzu217a lot more are post VIP lane…
Not as we would understand them. They see themselves as bound by entirely different values. For such people, the idea of being constrained as are we would be completely counter-intuitive.
The longer the gambling scandal goes on, the worse it gets for the Conservatives. As you said in a previous TH-cam, call the guys and gals into an office and ask a simple yes/no question. 'Launching an investigation' is just big words.
If they answer “No” they probably did it. If they answer “Yes” they definitely did it. None of them will answer “Yes”.
They ARE Tories after all; most probably need a satnav to find their constituency; and/or their backsides.
Sunak managed another huge lie earlier by claiming, when asked whether he had ever bet on politics himself while an MP, he replied: “No.” (Source: The Grauniad). Now, we aleady know from the Covid inquiry that Sunak suffers selective memory loss, but here he seems to have convieniently forgotten the bet he placed with Piers Morgan on live TV just a few months ago. He received a lot of flack for it at the time but has clearly failed to learn from such a simple schoolboy error.
Did sunak win or lose the £1000 bet about the flight to Rwanda?
@@ncooper8438 He reneged on the bet
It’s been a chumocracy ever since they forgot any morals and made Johnson leader. I think the last minister who resigned with any dignity was Amber Rudd.
I think that it goes back further than Billy Bunter (Boris Johnson).
should we be more shocked when we unearth an honest Tory or when we unearth a dishonest one?
Of course . If a labour analyst ec had done this the Sun Mail Express would have run it as front page headlines for a month.
Is this the tip of an iceberg?
We started this election count down, with very low expectations, but Tory greed has surpassed even our low expectations.
Is there no depth young Tories will not plumb, what selfish culture could have produced such vile specimens, might private education be to blame?
3:59 'Different FROM us' , not 'to' us, Professor. 'Similar to us' is correct
Having lectured forensic accountancy at post-graduate MBA level, I can assure you an investigation into this matter would take me just a couple of hours - at most.
We're a' Jock Tamson's bairns.
In my humble view, the issue here is what comes from the top. This generation of Number 10 ites don't appear to have had standards set out. eg. Why did Allegra what her name think it was ok to be involved in parties? Because no one had told her it wasn't. Why have these people laid these bets? Because no one told them not to. I have seen many many tribunals and disciplinary hearings, in which the Subject has played the "no one told me I couldn't" card. And it worked. I worked in a place in which a poster stated "If there's no rule to say you can't, then you can". I took it down and supplemented the toilet roll with it.That's the world we live in, therefore, any leader has to set out their stall, and stick to it.
You are spot on with everything you said there is too much hatefulness in this world but the Tories have played into that with refugees people on benefits or homeless people the ones that find life hard as it is but it doesn't affect them at all there soulless
how much did Rishi bet?
Theses Tories are not even interested in an educated man like you Prof . Really they just want to meet people who can get them money .
Or people who will follow them blindly.
@@normasarsby1350 yes there are many like that. There's an old saying they would vote for a donkey if it had a blue rosette
4:07. There's a difference between respecting those of 'us' who are different and respecting the views of the clear majority. A tiny minority can't expect the majority to 'bend' to their wishes when they choose not to. It may be 'ideology' but it's perfectly acceptable that biological women do not want to have to compete with trans women. Neither should they have to share toilet/changing room facilities with a trans woman. Respect works both ways. Why is it not 'expected' that trans women should show respect.
Professor, how this is not classified as gross misconduct which as an employee you can at a minimum be suspended if not sacked. There is a problem on the employment status of a parliamentary candidate if they are employees of the party.
