I'm actually annoyed, as much as I knew the media would not be as forgiving of the new Labour government, and to be fair, the Tories set a very very low bar regards standards, I foolishly expected Labour to be better, it worries me that politics in this country is about people or vested interests who can buy a seat at the cabinet and at the same time make our votes pointless. No wonder people turn away from politics. Well said Prof!!.

Prof I must first declare that I lean to the left of the political spectrum. I am shocked to see that the PM is milking the system of donations. He hould not take any gifts at all. Frankly after the mess he inherited he should not have time watch football. If the law is stupid then he should not hide behind it. After all legal tax avoidance by the PM would look bad and I hope he would not partake in it so why do it with donations.

There is a different standard with Boris Johnson. That was corruption. Here were are talking about gifts.
The problem with that is that the are no standards? This I do not know for sure, all I know is that they have to be declared to Parliament within a certain period of time, but they are not against any regulations. But the point being delibetately fudged is whether the gifts are illegal or not. It is fair for the SNP to ask if the gifts breach parliamentary rules and if they do breach them, then resignations are required. The msm did not apply the same scrutiny to these issues until Labour were in government. Nobody in the msm complained about gifts to tories and even the illegal stuff was brushed under the carpet for as long as possible.
When I worked in business, I watched senior managers accept tickets for corporate boxes for sporting events, golf days, etc. I took it to be the usual practice.

So while I can find no fault with much of what you say the scale of it is somewhat of a much lower order and our right wing media did not kept up the drip drip stories when the conservatives were in government. Harmony we agree!
On the MP’s expenses scandal it is worth recalling that it was the Telegraph that ran with this the Guardian turned it down.
I also have problems with the valuation of the gifts. If the value of Alli’s flat is correct then this is understated (according to a professional friend) by at least 80% (and how for heavens sake is Covent Garden a quiet area!!)which makes me question the other figures. You don’t get many Brioni suits for his figure.
On homework I don’t really know. Many students drop out before the end of the first year and this may be because they are not used to the individual responsibility that one has at University. I also think that the hike in fees will add to this. ‘How many lectures do I get per week’. I had the good fortune to be taught for part of my academic life by Socratic method - I found this difficult until one of my tutors spent much time (some over a drink!) helping me. I thereafter much enjoyed it.

See Professor Stuart Capitalism and Communism compared in The Great Courses Wondrium He shows essentially Socialism and Capitalism is a spectrum not polarity and Kamala Harris demonstrates her knowledge of this Economics. The most successful societies follow her principles . Professor Stuart took some special cases to demonstrate thus truth. He chose The EU, Singapore, Sweden, and showed that the billionaire behind this conspiracy against the EU, Democracy ad liberalism are wrong These lectures that were delivered Before Trump was even thought a serious candidate, he showed that immigration is an inherent part of economic management and the Nationalism Xenophobia,, Racialism Misogyny and Male chauvinism are rubbish, he showed tht every thing Trump says it unmitigated drivel, ad everything that MAG says is rubbish, He shows that everything the right wing conspiracy says is nonsense. This is not political propaganda is this a serious discussion based on experience.. It should be the rule that every candidate for every party must have a six month course on Civil Engineering, Economics and Economic History , Geography Demography, Genetics and the public should follow these courses and the information and the knowledge is there, it is the precondition of a serious liberal democracy and liberty. If the electorate were serious they would seek, enquire and need to understand the factors that govern their day and day lives, and fear, rabble rousing ends in only Fascism, Gulags, massacres, wars, concentration camps genocide pollution toxic substances in the environment and the need for Welfare, the need for Education not as luxuries but as the preconditions of liberty. This knowledge destroys the hysterical nonsense of Trump, MAGA Farage, Reform in the UK it demolishes the ideas of Murdoch and all his media and press. They vector hysteria . Harris talks the only sense there is, and the people that support Trump do more harm to themselves. There should be tax relief on Distance learning and instead of these silly debates lectures on these matters. Tucker Carlson, Douglas Murry and all the hysterics are wrong. Do not just believe me, Get Educated on the conditions that govern your realty. But you wont get educated watch Fox or the Right Wig conspirators owned by Murdoch, and funded by Putin, Billionaires, Modi and Murdoch. For your own survival trust Kamala Harris. The rest is garbage. The enemies within are the most dangerous, not China, but Murdoch, Putin, Modi and the billionaires that subvert democracy by buying the Supreme Court. Invest in Knowledge, not Propaganda
