  • Flashforge revealed their roadmap for 2024 which includes the next generation of Adventurer 5M printers. In this video, I go over a handful of things I would like to see included with the new 5M.

Surprised you didnt mention build volume. This printers build vol is smaller then an Ender. This is what prevented me from getting one.

You're right! I was so focused on new stuff, I overlooked a major fundamental aspect. Lesson learned.

Those are all really good "asks" for the NG version of these printers. I'm a simple man. I just want color. The regular 5M is going to be a huge upgrade for me when I get it. Having color would just be just the icing on the cake.

We'd also like to see a filament cutter on the print head. It could be a manual push button, but to help assist with changes without needing to remove the PTFE tube would be great. There is a model on Printables you can make to accomplish this but it would be cool to see it from factory.

The 5M is quiet compared to the Creality K1 😂

Dang, that thing must be a jet engine.

If the 5M NG isn't horribly different from the 5M regular, hopefully it will be possible to upgrade. Re the cooling: I see the main parts fan is a 3-wire 5015. I'll look into upgrades. Something that moves more air so that it can be run at lower speeds (quieter). My other printer (Sovol SV07+) uses a dual 5015 fan parts cooler that works fantastically.

I want a heated chamber on the pro model!

I just bought the AD5M based on your recommendations. I LOVE the printer but having an issue. I printed the side mount spool holder but no matter how I route the filament it ends up pulling it off the side of the spool and fouling the feed. Can you do a video showing us how to use the side mount spool holder?

I think everything you said was on point. the only 2 things ill like to see is a better bed i dont own one of theses but what made me not want one is 90% off the time you need glue or haair spray witch is not the best i know you can mod a bed from like a ender 3 cuz of the size is the same. Also in the 5m or pro a bigger bed size would kill it and if like you said they will come out with a ams thats under 200 usd would make them the king aat that point.

Great video! Flashforge is 100% releasing a multi material system as they leaked it themselves in the first release of Orca-Flashforge. There was a Material Station section under devices.
My best guess is that the NG 5M and 5M Pro will have a material station and the TBA printer will have multiple heads or a multi-head add-on as they have a great track record with dual head printers.

Naw, that was because it was a copy of Bambus Orca. Not saying they aren't making one, but it was the same on Bambu

I like some of your ideas, especially the magnetic walls although the door may need to be fixed. As your list grows so will the price, I think a great printer that you can build on like the P1P for example is a good place to start. You know the 5m can’t just be upgraded to the 5m pro. The other problem is that new models are coming out faster than anyone can keep up with. These are like computers during the 386/486/pentium etc etc. Just as you think you’re set on features, the same company puts out a newer model. Now it seems everyone is going multi color so if you’re not offering it seems you will be soon so wait.

I bought a 5M and I was super excited after seeing many videos from your channel, but the printer on the 1st leveling process while it was printing the cube, destroyed the print bed and it stopped working (negative temperature error), after troubleshooting, I could make it work again, updated firmware and printed a few pieces, in one of the pieces, when it was in 50%, the nozzle just broke... probably it catch in some filament and the speed and force just broke the nozzle, I always leveled before each print. Since I bought it from Amazon, I just sent it back and bought a Bambu lab. Very disappointed since I had very high expectations for this printer... maybe, in the future I give a chance to this brand again... The print quality, when it works is really good, super fast printer, but with the possibility of breaking a nozzle during printing so easily like that, I just couldn't risk it, especially with their nozzle being so expensive.

Wow, you had a really rough experience. I hope the Bambu Lab printer is performing for you as it should.

My Adventurer 5M has been a nightmare to deal with. Ordered their official camera which took a month to get. I then print their official enclosure and purchased acrylic panels from 3rd part. Turns out official camera isnt compatible with their official enclosure design and their support said too bad go buy an extension cable (which is not easy to find).
On top of that they have release half asses software from the beginning. Its just barely acceptable at this point. Remote management has been a requirement for me and it just does the bare minimum.
Perhaps worst of all is that on the official flashforge website they have removed all mention of their official enclosure and open source klipper. I had complained to their support team but they just dont care...

They need to improve and perfect their IDEX system. A simple to use IDEX with high flow extruders with good part cooling that are easy to align and calibrate, and capable 310C. A 60c degree heated chamber with a bed size of 250x250 x250 minimum.

      why 310C?

@@AlexanderSmith600 Some Nylons and high temp filaments require right at 300c, 310c to cover error.

@@tinkeringpoko Preferably, but I believe it would be very marketable at $600

@@stevebissonnette760 Agreed. But I'd say for 299 would be asking for too much. I'm sure currently for 299 they still make profit, but wouldn't be very high margin. I guess their profit comes from us replacing nozzles..
