    Really appreciate the effort, Fedor. Your insight is invaluable. Just found an A5M deal from a 3rd party vendor for $278.07 total. I'd also like to add that I've been a viewer since your channel's early days with the Voxelab videos, and your channel & content has certainly grown to be of my favorite. Thank you for everything.

    I just ordered one. I got a basic ender 3 a couple of weeks ago and have been shocked at how painful it was to assemble and use. Sd card slot died and it likes to stop extruding halfway through prints. I have high hopes for this new printer. I was really looking for ease of use and printing and not tinkering. I think this will be very nice.

    Full klipper/fluidd access would make this one of the best printers out there right now. It would allow for things like KAMP and also adjust the loud fan even more. For now i just replaced it with a 120mm slim PC fan and finally it's silent.

  • @vhoward1122

    Since they are using klipper, i do agree that they need to release their source under the opensource license. But I also see from their point of view that they are providing tech support and it makes it easier if the user hasn't modified it. What they need to do is release the source code and then specify that if the user makes any modifications that makes the printer not work, they they will not be held liable for repairs. So wait until the printer is out of warranty before doing mods.

    • @vhoward1122

      Since I just ordered one of these with an extra build plate that has the PC sticker on it and I added the enclosure kit all for $339.90 with their black friday deal going, it will be good to have a working printer while I rebuild my X1C that has a few issues that is keeping it from working all to do with the z axis.

    Dude I am so hyped to receive this printer from Amazon for $299+ tax ($320 or something) as of 1/29/24. There are so many features I am excited about! I bought an Ender 3 pro about 8 months ago that is currently MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THIS PRINTER. And I got less than half the features of this printer. From the moment I had to build everything on the Ender out the box to all the clogging and wiring you outlined, oh and the manual leveling I do every few prints. All those things are so annoying tasks that this printer looks to eliminate. Oh and the drag, drop, print I am so looking forward to. Tired of moving the 2GB microSD back and forth from the PC to printer. Drag and print baby, love it! 2 more days. I wonder how much quicker it will be? I need to mass produce products so depending on how this printer does, I may snag more

    Update: I received the printer and LOVE IT! Night and day from the POS Ender 3 Pro, I already listed in for sale thats how much i dislike that printer. The default speed was 300mm, I was shocked how fast it was printing. It was more accurate than the Ender 3 and much faster - unfortunately I am not sure how to relay the speed per material used but printing the same gcode, the Ender took 4 hours and the 5M took only 34 minutes!. The end product was clean AF!
    I have a few questions about the printer:
    1) Where do I find the idle fan settings? I did not see it on the on screen display
    2) Can I use PLA with .6mm and .8mm nozzles? I looked at the Forge website and it seemed that they did not suggest using the regular PLA. Thoughts?
    3) My external camera does not seem to work when the job is running. I have the latest firmware installed. Seems like each time I turn on the camera and video, it turns off again in the settings. Anything you can suggest?

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome. Glad you like it.
      1. Not sure what you mean. I believe those are all firmware controlled.
      2. You should be able to, but you would have to slow down quite a bit at those diameters and make sure you have your profiles set accordingly to the nozzles. Others, should be good. although not on this machine, I print PLA with .6 all the time.
      3. I’ve never tried to run it with a camera. However, it sounds like there is a ton of stuff going on firmware wise with them. So after the Chinese new year is over, we will be getting a new update for sure. I’ll have more insight after that.

      @@3DPrintSOS After selecting .6mm in ForgePrint, the default speed dropped to 200mm, but I did change it to 300mm. Running a job now, so far looking good. I think the current battle is this or the A1 mini for this $200 spot. I think the A1 wins overall, however it IS smaller and it isnt ran on klipper or corexy. I think it wins because you can get the 4 color AMS addon for when you are ready on the A1 and it would take quite a bit of work to get that on the flashforge. I like that you can now run vanilla klipper on the 5M and all the little issues I had have been fixed. At the end of the day, I think you would be really well off with either. If you want the easiest experience possible, the A1 mini pulls ahead by a bit. If you like the idea of the size of the 5M and like the opensource firmware/software it runs, youll love the 5m.

      I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them honestly. They are in a different league now. The only note is the Reborn2 is probably the only one that I would say “needs work”. And what I mean by that is that it would be a 2x if not 3x better with some modifications. So if you like to tinker, that’s the one. It’s fully open sourced. Even the cad files. The others, not so much. The 5M being closed source entirely yet probably best printing out of the bunch. I don’t have experience with Elegoo but I hear great things about the 4 series. • @ianr1863
    @ianr1863 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Agree 100% that not releasing their klipper changes etc is not ok, and they need to correct that. That flies in the face of the open source reason it exists, and not what we want these companies defaulting to. Making a good base HW is not enough if the SW is effectively locked and 'stolen.' MY first 3DP was from their sister company the Voxelab Aquila (assisted by your may early vids.) :) having now added a couple vorons, and I've purchase spools of Flashforge filament. If there is no printing problem, could you continue to use it? Then you can be more careful. If you have any further questions, please let us know and we will do our best to help you." I have a bad cooling fan that let the heat creap up and filament get stuck i had to take nozzel off and manualy heat and use tool to push clear. One way around the rear spool is i use a dryer next to the machine and a long tube to feed into sensor i have had filament break in the tube. The head cable and feed tube does drag on the machine a way to fix is drag chain or im using string tied to a shelf above to support the in and out filament tubes. Tie string to support and have 2 loose loops or how many you need for support. A spool holder above the machine can also be used to feed in a support for the tube should be used to prevent it from bending to much or snagging in spool.

      There is a DIY to run full klipper on the machine and Klipper screen. so if you wanted, you could have a fluidd or Mainsail front end. :)

    Its bloody expensive in the UK, £600 plus. Where as the Official Creality K1 is less than £500.

      Ooof, the non Pro? Yeah, not worth it at that point. K1 walks it for that price difference.

    What printer should I get, the Adventurer 5m, Creality K1, or K1C? I am looking for the most reliable and best printer for PLA and some PETG with the least ghosting.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  ปีที่แล้ว

      The $299 price tag of the adventurer is hard to beat. the K1C is superb though. but if don’t need the enclosure or CF filaments, then it’s a moot point.

    If they are really using Klipper, the they MUST open source it or lose their rights to distribute Klipper as it is licensed under the GPL.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are using Klipper. You can find it when digging through the firmware update files. And yes I agree, that’s why I mentioned it twice in the video and messaged them directly about it. They need a nudge just like Creality did and still does.

    • @MisterkeTube
      @MisterkeTube ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Klipper is GPL v3, meaning they not only need to open source any changes they made to it, but also have to give every user the opportunity to replace their version by any other version the user might make (either based on theirs or on another fork).

      @@3DPrintSOS It crossed my mind, that it could be using Uleando shaping - they have it in some previous printer. But when files suggest it's Klipper and Flashforge gives no answer, it leaves very little doubt of being anything else than Klipper :/

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh it’s 100% klipper. If you unpack their update files you can see its klipper with modifications. Aka, it must be released based on the license.

    Could they be any more obvious about copying the p1p?

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the overall look is just too close. Wish they changed it up a bit. However, as you can see in the video, it’s quite a bit different otherwise.

    • @kwedl
      @kwedl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't get why people keep spamming this like it's a bad thing. It's obviously trying to be a P1P, but it's also more in some aspects and overall it's a coreXY. There is only so much you can do in terms of design with a metal frame and some rods/linear rails unless you want to go over the top liek Qidi printers.

    It's a shame they went with a proprietary nozzles and locked down klipper. But overall it looks like an excellent machine.

    I don't mind if they locked their own firmware down. Using open source firmware and locking it down is where I get mad. It's why I'm no longer going to purchase a printer from them. You can diy a better printer for roughly the same price.
