    I'm pretty sure that Hinds anchor leg was their slowest guy and they thought that they could give him a big enough lead for him to hold off for the win. You can see that he was out matched by everyone else. While most teams put their fastest person at anchor, their are some teams who puts their slowest person at anchor hoping that they'll have a big enough lead for him/her to cross the finish line first. Especially if that person is all they have left, but really isn't fast enough to actually be on 4x100. I honestly think that it doesn't matter what leg you place the sprinters, the time will be the same. I think that Hinds time would've been similar to that 39.81 whether their slowest guy ran the anchor, first, or any leg in between.

    • @alebaba12
      @alebaba12 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Realist 100% sprinters have different strengths when it comes to running. some are better curve runners, some are better starters, some have better finishing speed. not to mention the length of the legs for the 4x100 are not the same so it’s definitely important where to place each sprinter in the 4x1 according to their strengths.

    • @timn4481
      @timn4481 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      U r exactly correct. The other post saying U put people in the best spots for the team is also right. It's often the fastest who runs the 2nd leg and they do a short change at the first handover and a long change at the 2nd, to make the runner run about 105-110m , then U try to find your best curve runner with the good speed endurance and the first leg is also a good bend runner but perhaps doesn't have as good speed endurance, and THEN, whoever is left, runs the anchor. It could very well be the slowest runner.

    • @realest1006
      @realest1006 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      alejandro goldston I agree with you 100% bro, but I think that some times teams can over think their strategy on the 4x100. When I was running track, one year, we had this one meet where the fastest guy in our conference was on one of the other relay teams, he was running 4th leg, clearly faster than our 4th leg. Our coach wanted our 4th leg to receive the baton as close to the end of the exchange zone as possible and I couldn't understand that. I thought that our 4th leg should get the baton as soon as possible so that he could have more time to reach his top speed if he could get the baton before their 4th leg got his. I thought that, if we wait to exchange the baton, we would be giving the faster guy more time to get his baton and start running. I could be wrong, but I never did understand stuff like that.

    • @derrickbaker759
      @derrickbaker759 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They should let him be duck..... Yeah man 3rd leg. ....he should not even been on the team but if had 2 he would run 3rd.he can't lead off would not let him go second which is usually the fastest leg or anchor. ..

  • @sandeepshetty1589
