+cja sewell I totally agree ! Our women's track team & swim team were both just awesome. Different sports, different bodies, but ALL WOMEN, & ALL BEAUTIFUL. Wolfsky9
Carmelita Jeter’s form was one of the best under Flo Jo! She was running sooooo fast, it was like her feet barely touched the ground!!!! She was clocked at 9.9 for her anchor leg!!!! The first time I saw her run in the Penn Relays many years ago, I knew she was going to be something special!!!!!!
Carmelita Jeter. The name stays in my mind. Her anchor run for the US gives me chills. The exuberance @ excitement shown by Camelita and the US Team is understandable. Allyson Felix came absolutely flying in her third leg, giving extra ground for the US Team.
Madison's first leg was insane. to run faster than Fraser-Pryce is already a feat, but to do it around the bend on the outside lane is just legendary. the commentator also deserves MAJOR props, he really made the viewing experience so memorable. that he observed Madison going faster than Fraser-Pryce, that he knew before Jeter finished it would be a special time and called the WR as it happened - he was on it.
Felix really participated in more than 3 disciplines for almost every competition she entered. She didn't just participate, she won medals and records. This was a super woman
It's amazing how clearly each runner's style differs from the other's. Felix and Jeter are two different machines entirely. Like a gazelle and a train. Both leave me in awe.
It was such a perfectly built team. Amazing starter and turn runner in the first leg, long strider with high top end speed for the longest leg, short strong stride for the quick curve, and finish with an all around great runner and 100m silver medalist. Not to mention 3 really good handoffs. Just incredible. This won't be broken for a long time.
@@philrichter3161 exactly!! I think about this all the time, how if you wanted to design runners for a 4x1 team, you’d get 4 runners exactly like these women. The timing for all of them to be in this sort of form, all different points of their careers, amazing. I agree- we won’t see this record touched for a while
I've watched a lot of track meets at different levels. This is by far the best relay race I have ever seen. The handoffs were textbook, and that's why the ladies were able to run so fast. As fast as the USA was, Jamaica and Ukraine also got around the track at a fast pace. That makes the USA's time even more jaw dropping. When Jeter got that last handoff, I mean it was like some rocket launchers came out of her shoes. She absolutely flew down that last 100. It was electrifying to watch it live, and still gives me goosebumps today!

I love this. I get chills watching Felix blow everyone away down the back straight. And the passing was perfect. And then Jeter finishing like she is on fire ....wow
Felix may not have the best start, but once she is gone, no one wants any part of her!!! She may never qualify in the 100m (ehh again-ish), but she needs to always be a part of that 4x100! Knight and Madison own that turn also. USA will have some tough decisions to make for Rio, because we have got faster 100m open runners who are not fit for the relay, but how can they be denied the spot they have "earned" by doing better in the individual event?

ChazaqaYah Yashra'al she gets plenty of credit from true fans of the sport. A strong lead off is what the US had been lacking for yrs. US first legs had to compete with gold medalist Fraser-Price and would always hand off to Allyson Felix with a deficit. But once they added Tianna Bartoletta, Allyson got the stick with a lead and then extended it even more. The result? World record.
Chazaqa Yah Yashra'al--I know I'm late here, but this race ages well, it never gets old. Tianna is the best lead off ever, IMO. The gold medal was effectively secured by Tianna neutralizing JAMs best, the legendary SAFP. Handed a slight lead, Allyson led the charge along with the other women to the WR. Jeter, speaks for itself.

Jeter pointing out the world record always gets a tear out of my eye. This is what we strive for. We work hard and make sure our flag remains higher. 🇺🇸!!!
As amazing as Jeter’s leg was. Most ignore Felix’s leg was spectacular. She gave them that lead. Madison’s 1st leg was superb as well against Jamaica’s Fraser.
@@visualizecreate2530 … not smart? Price wins races because of her start out of the blocks and drive phase, meaning she wins or loses her races in the first 40-60 meters, either way her top end speed isn’t what she’s known for or how she wins, so putting her on the first leg is literally the smartest thing to do lol
@@oklahomie95 I don't think so. She's the fastest among the women and I think she should definitely be anchor and pose as their Ace in the hole. Go watch the 2019 Doha women's 4x100m. She over took 2 women and won that race as anchor.
@@empireone450 We just won gold but didn't get the world record. Had Shericka been on the 2nd leg with Elaine on 3rd and Shelly on 4th we'd have shattered it. Look at Elaine and Shelly's exchange and Shelly's leg. She had the best leg by far bcz of that speed. Now imagine if she'd run it as anchor
I'm a Jamaican fan, but even I have to admit, the Americans were superb. Jeter was absolutely flying. Well done ladies. Well deserved. It's difficult to hate excellence.
I have watched this race about a hundred time now and I still get goosebumps. Such an amazing race! Massive respect to all the athletes. The USA team was simply impeccable here .
I absolutely love how the Jamaican and USA teams embraced each other at the end! There's often too much negative publicity surrounding this professional rivalry. Major props to the Ukraine, though! They kept it together and held their own during an insanely competitive event.
I have seen a lot of 4x100 meter relays in my time. I saw my first one in 1968. But this was the finest 4x100 meter relay I have ever seen. The execution was absolutely perfect. They lost no time at all on their passes. I thought the GDR "steroid" record would stand forever but their perfect execution enabled them to remove that phony record from the books, thank God. No one should ever forget this race. You will never see a better executed relay as long as you live.
Whenever I randomly crave a good dose of goosebumps this is my go to clip, seeing Jeter point at the time and react thereafter will always be my favourite sporting moment
I love how Jeter points to the clock b4 crossing the finish line. Such a boss move at the end of a magnificent run. She was amazing on that anchor leg.
Came back to this after watching the 4x4 in Tokyo. These women are incredible and Felix is just inspirational. This race makes me wish the Olympics happened more than every 4 years
I was sat in the stadium in the middle of the back straight that extraordinary evening and it remains one of the most exhilarating things I have ever seen in my nearly 52 years on this planet. To witness one of track and fields longest standing, seemingly untouchable, drug tainted world records not just beaten but absolutely obliterated was an absolute privilege and every time I watch a replay of this race I am taken back to the moment like it was yesterday. This was a victory for not just this wonderful USA team, but for the sport of athletics itself.
“BEST 4x100m Women’s Relay of All Time”!!Go USA!!!! 🇺🇸 These Beautiful Black Women are extremely talented, in top form and humble! As a track star (100 years ago in school) watching these 4 beautiful American ladies with our flag at the hammer celebrating a WR. Just brings tears of joy and proudness. Thank you ladies, you’re the best in the world!🇺🇸
I know I'm 2 yrs late to this comment. But I was looking for some Bianca Knight comments and finally found it! As a fellow Mississippian I'm still so proud of her. Bianca is a yr older than me and in high school I actually had the privilege of seeing her race twice in person at the Mississippi State track meet. Never seen someone run with so much power grace and stride. She's still one of the best track athletes our state has seen. This race was such an iconic moment. I'm giving Bianca her flowers, she's a legend in my book💯
I've watched this race countless times it's just out of this world these four sisters were all outstanding , but like so many others Jeter was traveling at warp 10 she looked like she wasn't even touching the ground but everytime i look at her pointing at the world record it just brings tears to my eyes such greatness go ahead my nubian queens
I love that some of the women's soccer team was there to give them their flags. As a track athlete, it's always nice when other people from different sports come to watch because it's that little extra support and knowing that others care about your success.
I got to meet Jeter at her current place of employment yesterday and talk to and more importantly listen to her. She is an amazing woman. My GFs daughter will be lucky to get to learn from her and the rest of her staff.
Who else has watched this race more than once? This was spectacular start to finish.

Bro why your comments are so cringy
@@admilz it is only cringey to you.
Imagine someone writing "I love strong white women".....cringe for sure. These women were special Olympians in many ways the least of which is skin color which no one picks.

Imagine jeter drops the thing when she points at the clock. Would have been such a tragedy
@@albertmaraj you are comparing two events that are 4 years apart.. a lot happens in that time with professional sports 😑😑😑😑
Now imagine if she'd run it as anchor
omg the handoff between Allyson Felix and 3rd leg was literally perfect
all hand offs were great !
IKR. been watching her since she was in high school and she has not disappointed.
I just love watching Knight powering down that track
You can hear Allyson screaming at her 😂
Jeter is an amazing sprinter and her form is immaculate.

I'm a Jamaican fan, but even I have to admit, the Americans were superb. Jeter was absolutely flying. Well done ladies. Well deserved. It's difficult to hate excellence.
10 years have past and I’m still here
Seven years after and I'm still here, gosh! Will I ever get over this race? Have watched it like a million times since.
Jeter has such an epic stride
Yes I live for it
I absolutely love hearing Allyson scream after she passes the baton to Knight.

😢🤧 magnificent moment. I'll never forget this race
I have watched this race about a hundred time now and I still get goosebumps. Such an amazing race! Massive respect to all the athletes. The USA team was simply impeccable here .
2012 Olympics has got to be one of the best years ever!!!! They were setting records left to right!
I absolutely love how the Jamaican and USA teams embraced each other at the end! There's often too much negative publicity surrounding this professional rivalry. Major props to the Ukraine, though! They kept it together and held their own during an insanely competitive event.
“This is special , this is a world recooord” 😂😂❤️

Am I the only one who likes this video over the men's 4x100? This is phenomenal to watch!
no you're not
I agree 100% Denise!
It shocked me 😂
+Denise Bacon i prefer many of the women's events to the men's.
+hocusfokusdotcom I enjoy the women's events as well!
This race is still one of my favorite Olympic moments. 🇺🇸🥇
Felix is a beast to dominate in all three short distances
I remember this race like it was yesterday. THE highlight of these Olympic Games for me!
Ran like a JET 😆
This is one of the most exhilarating track races I've ever seen! And one of the greatest team performances in Olympic history.
I just don't get tired of watching this incredible relay. The Americans were (are) just fantastic the whole way.
Jeters feet weren't even touching the ground
E fit be true ooo....😀😀😂 dat lady leg was not touching d ground
Big factz like she was floating
She was flying
She was Jeting.
Came back to this after watching the 4x4 in Tokyo. These women are incredible and Felix is just inspirational. This race makes me wish the Olympics happened more than every 4 years
I love watching Jeter point at the record on her way across. What a badass athlete.
Jeter is a BADASS
Jeter was GONNNE!!
Nothing bests watching Allyson Felix runs. The form is just perfect!
Yeah! She really opened up the lead for them big time!!
One of the best races of all time. I miss watching the Olympics back then.
This was poetry in motion. Fantastic. The high-point of the London Olympics - and I'm from the UK. The last leg was just awe-inspiring.

My favorite USA win moment ever. I watched this dozens of times over the years. Absolutely perfect and Jeter pointing is unforgettable!!
I've been watching this race since 2012. The Americans put on a show on that day, and I don't think I will get tired of watching the highlight.
Bianca Knight absolutely tore the track up in that 3rd leg🔥⚡💯. Beautiful. One of the greatest moments in sports history.
With that kind of body mass.. absolutely incredible
she runs a mean bend
she did what she had to do. goddess!
