  • In this video, we take our freshly assembled ARRMA Infraction V2 with a custom-modified motor mount out for a test run. Everything was looking promising until Nikolai got a little too excited with the throttle! Within just 5 minutes, we managed to completely burn out the motor. Was it the mod or the heavy throttle that did it? Watch at the end as we break down what went wrong and how we plan to fix it for our next run. Speed Boost RC's journey to high-speed perfection continues!

I had that happen three times this summer on hot days. Once it came loose it seemed to come loose easier and easier . The new one has been holding good though . Should have re locitite . Nice ride

I'm in the middle of doing a Limitless v2 chassis/motor mount swap on my infraction so I can fit a larger motor

If you do it like that most of the plastics wont fit including the battery trays. Thats the reason I went with drilling my own holes and modding it.

@SpeedBoostRC yeah I purchased a plastics set and chassis from jenny rc and managed to put up a motor mount n spool from ebay. I'm about to swap my hw 1650kv for a castle 1721 2400kv

What size pinion did you run? I’d like to hear other people’s opinions but , if the pinion was kinda large , and it’s a low kv motor meaning it draws more current to achieve the rpm . The lose pinion sounded like it was spinning freely or partly . The grim screw could have be lose enough under pressure to start spinning … and it killed it. It for sure should last longer you had some bad runs lately. After spending so much I think I’m gonna see what I can get out of 4s and 6s before going crazy

The pinion was a 25T, and the spur was 40T. The motor was a 1250Kv, just a cheap basher motor. I definitely didn’t expect it to burn out so quickly, especially since it never felt that hot. I’m planning to reach out to Horizon Hobby to see if they’ll cover it under warranty as its only a few months old.
