    ok, let me try and explain the fishing string another way. It was used years ago for bashers when they did not have belted (the key word) tires. It fitted great between the knobs on the tires, and kept the tires from ballooning. Then they started using the gorilla tape inside the tires, which helped as well, then belted tires were being sold at a lower and better price. The fishing line is no good for speedruns, you should try a powerhobby belted tire, or ust a good belted tire. Not trying to promote a certain tire. I have ripped open and off belted tires during my runs. . I suggested a set of foams on one of your videos. Fishing line is not going to work, it will just cut your tires up at higher speeds. Second you need more room to run. As you peak out on the power, it drops and then powers back up look at your logs seek out the voltage and rpms, they drop and then come back up with the 100% power. You're looking for a road over 4000 to do a quality speedrun. These short road are not going to do it. I use those type spaces for just tuning or doing a few drag hits. Make sure the car is going straight only. I will continue to watch your pogress and get the tips as well. I say these things, because I have seen them fail or tried it. Don't let those video take you down a rabbit hole. Most of the videos you see are just lies to keep you from improvement. No one has driven any speedrun car over 130+ with fishing line. If this were true RAZ and McCoy would be showing you this in their videos. They use foam tires.

    What size pinion did you run? I’d like to hear other people’s opinions but , if the pinion was kinda large , and it’s a low kv motor meaning it draws more current to achieve the rpm . The lose pinion sounded like it was spinning freely or partly . The grim screw could have be lose enough under pressure to start spinning … and it killed it. It for sure should last longer you had some bad runs lately. After spending so much I think I’m gonna see what I can get out of 4s and 6s before going crazy

    • @SpeedBoostRC
      @SpeedBoostRC 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The pinion was a 25T, and the spur was 40T. The motor was a 1250Kv, just a cheap basher motor. I definitely didn’t expect it to burn out so quickly, especially since it never felt that hot. I’m planning to reach out to Horizon Hobby to see if they’ll cover it under warranty as its only a few months old.

    I ran into the same thing when I first used fishing line. I used to big of diameter line and still wrapped it 10 times. Try smaller diameter line or I also depending on the diameter only made enough wraps to keep it even or a hair shy of even with the treads. And to also like someone else commented the drifting and sliding around doesn't help. Good luck looks like you're having fun and getting faster every time

    A dry surface make a huge difference. Nice you have also been running the foams, they work. I think you should look into Launch Control. That ramps up your speed from slow, so you can straighten the car out before top speed. I know the radiolink does it, and the DS5C also, you don't have to spend over 200 bucks for that. I have invested in Raz's launch controllers. I have 10 for all my speed run cars. I love them, and they have a better output especially for your data. No I'm not promoting his products, but it's does everything you need, with your tx and rx you currently have. It actually works. He has videos on how to set it up as well. you have to calibrate your car again with the controller. I would also suggest you have 2 cars, so you can build the confidence on the slower one than ready yourself for the faster one. I do agree you need more space, as you run your car actually dumps some power and then goes back to pulling, and you need space for that. Your probably able to get 150 right now, but your space is kinda limited. We have a 3500+ ft road here in maryland, all flat great surface, and really no traffic. The road is called Kembo road, it in the area, where the Container ship crashed into the 695 bridge (Francis Scott Key Bridge). It's just short of a mile.

They will charge you as well. HobbyWings lane is crawling, and they should stay their. Just for proof, find someone on a streaming video that is still using a Hobbywing after 3 months of running the same esc. There isn't anyone, lol.... But people are still running their castle esc's..

  • @JasonGunn418
    @JasonGunn418 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    NOTE: if your bench testing a speedrun car, and you hold the trigger down full for about 5-8 seconds, you will get the same result of Excessive loads, because your tires have no resistance to a surface. This is what you were doing on a wet surface, no resistance, thus causing the Excessive load. I learned that from a guy who usually does about 170- to 189 mph on Kembo road here in maryland. I watched his car fly threw the air at about 180 MPH. At the end of his run on the data, the RPMs flew off the chart, with the same warning, because his car lost traction, while being airborne.

  • @JasonGunn418
    @JasonGunn418 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Don't use fishing line, it's useless. Only foams will not expand on high speed runs, as seen in many videos. I will share with you a guy who rebuilds foam tires. I didn't have any luck with him. But he does use old wheels and give you somewhat of a discount. By the way you should never run your car on a wet surface, it will and does hydroplane. Who ever told you about fishing line smake them in the head when you meet them, lol.... (that was a joke). Excessive loads are detected, because the tires are slipping causing a higher RPM on your motor. It's like the car flipping thru the air, and your trigger is buried forward. Always drive on a drive surface, and not under about 50 degrees, from my experience, and NEVER EVER buy the X01 it's JONK. By the way I was fooled into using fishing line on my Kraton 8s at the beginning of my experience in this hobby. So I know it doesn't work, after replacing my center gears. I did use gorilla tape for the insides of the tires, then I got belted tires.. However I did find success in the Power Hobby gripper 42, they can handle any speed under 160 MPH. I have a preference for Power Hobby belted tires.

  • @hnic72
    @hnic72 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I'm assuming the fish line ripped off because you were drifting and spinning the tires on acceleration. The fish line is used to keep the rubber from expanding at speed. It's not an all purpose remedy. As for excessive load, it could be due to that you're often rapidly pulling the throttle. I've had a motor geared for about 130mph once but had the amperage spike to 610A when ramped on the throttle HARD for about a half second upon bringing the car back. Also, you need to download your datalog using castle's software to a laptop or pc, activate whatever data that you want displayed (amperage, ripple, rpm etc) , zoom in, and analyze

    That would be good for a drag car just for a quick draw of power when you pull the throttle for a race😎👍

      I know about electronics some I used to work on cb radios and I've been thinking about capacitors on my RC car for the same reason you're demonstrating😎👍

      During testing the ripple coming from the battery at high current was completely gone. All you can notice now on the logs is a slight power sag but no ripple.

    Can you tell me what kind of solder you use and does it matter what type for RC purposes?

      Thank you! I use Kester SN63B37 0.8mm solder, which I’ve found to be the best for most applications. It's crucial to ensure that the solder you use isn't corrosive, such as a water-soluble type designed to be washed off. Make sure the flux core is rosin-based.
