That's how sponsorship should be done, actually an entertaining part of the video lol. Also might sound like a weird idea, but maybe shorten your barrel length? Less resistance for the projectile, and also with it being so long there may be a minor amount of flex, you guys might see a little more velocity with a shorter runway and increased pressure. Also consider rifling? I don't know how it would be done, maybe lick it.
The only season to use of a longer barrel would be to help keep the bullet stable. It doesnt have that much resistance with what theyare using since the barrel is not fluted .
considering that they're using a heavy projectile with a force too weak to overcome the bullet's inertia, barrel length is a bit irrelevant, wouldn't you agree?
Thats not hpw that works. The longer barrel allows the ammunition to gain momentum. Its like a gun. Rifles have long barrels for longer shots, because the bullet gains more force.

@@matthewkloep8391 Unless the HMMWV (Humvee) is up-armored, which theres is not, it will not stop any significant bullet. It was not meant to. Up-armored humvee however would easily be able to stop a .223, however I believe OP was saying that they should use the same diameter bullet, just make more of a point, possibly hollow out the rear side, and create a larger charge so that the projectile gains more FPS.
Hey guys! I have a great idea for a Disney themed water jet episode and would love to collab with you on it. Is there a decent place to reach out? The description said to leave a comment.
Thomas Heuisler you can rifle a pvc barrel, but probably not for a projectile this heavy. People have done that for many years on things like spud guns and golf ball cannons
I believe it has something to do with the fact that cutting curved lines through objects is a pain in the ass. A waterjet makes quick work of it tho. That's just my guess
@@hamstraa wouldn't really need a primer that big... As long as it ignites some powder and the barell is long enough that shouldn't be an issue if you think the powder won't burn fully
It depends on what you are shooting it out of abd how fast. That needs to be the most important thjng to consider.. not the bullet size or weight.. but how fast. Okay this is my first time watching and im sold
You really should take my suggestion on the release handle for the air cannon. Put a strong spring on it so it opens instantly, you will get A LOT more pressure. (Learnt that from mythbusters).
Lubed up with light oil in barrel and some sort of wadding behind it might help. Reduces drag from it cock eye'ing in barrel and build a bit more pressure. The dollar shave commercial is hilarious. Keep up the great work guys.
To be fair to the rental unit, the water comes from the Top, hot water rises, cold water is pumped towards the bottom at the same rate. So the water heater is designed to settle out hard water deposits so less hard water goes through the pipes.
Although this I am late by 9 months, here are some things that would have improved the results. 1. Use a rifled barrel. The rifling will cause the projectile to spin and stay pointing forward 2. Use a front heavy, hollow rear, high drag(in the rear end) projectile like the Diablo Pellet that you commonly see used for air guns. This way, the light and high drag rear end will keep the projectile facing forward. Shotgun Slugs also use this method to stabilize slugs because shotgun barrels are usually unrifled. 3. Use a ball. If you are too lazy to use either of the previous methods, a ball will remain pretty stable in flight, it was the first purpose built projectile for guns.
The "bullet" tumbled so that is why it only did as much damage as it did. For it to do more you will need to apply rifling to the tube you're shooting from, and the amount of compressed air needs to come out "faster" as to allow the projectile to move faster.
at 1.5 inches assuming your compressor can put out 200 psi (which is generous to say the least) that gun cant put out more than around 350 pounds of force. to get to that maximum you need to have a perfect seal (use o rings, or just smear vaseline on the projectile) and fine tune the weight for the perfect velocity/mass ratio, which is dependent on barrel length. at that range and velocity the aerodynamics don't really matter, so just keep knocking off weight until you have something that hurts real bad
I make water heaters in a factory and I was like "that's 100% going through the water heater" But I forgot, it has to go through the outer jacket, and the foam etc., before it even gets to the tank itself 😂
