My favorite! I wish I could see some footage of him recording guitars for Clint Black or some 90s country artist too. Huff and Brent Mason were on fire on those 90s country records.
Yep. Giant was an awesome Band, and Dann Huff is absolutely amazing. Always had such a classy feel and tone to his playing. The phrasing. All of it. Just a killer musician and song-writer.
I actually played with Dann Huff in Nashville when I was in 8th grade - one winter afternoon, probably 1977 or '78, at this guy Lindley's house. It was a one-time thing. I played trumpet. He's a much, much better player here than he was then, though he was quite good then even as a 9th or 10th grader.
This is indeed a great band but don't fool yourself that what you are hearing there is a live recording with all the players mere feet away from each other. No matter how good the players this is not the sound of a live recording. At the very least the guitars are layered and the drums are super processed (not really possible with the drum mics that close to the guitar amps) and obviously the vocals are overdubbed since there aren't two Dann Huffs in the world. I am certain they would sound fantastic playing this live without layering and studio tricks but that simply isn't what is happening here.
Dann Huff is in my eyes an underated singer/songwriter. Espacially what he gave with his support to other professional rock musicians like Lou Gramm. Listen to his album "Long hard look" and you will know what I mean.
Spanish Rock singer Miguel Rios has a song called "Bienvenidos" from 1982 with a really cool riff similar to "Time to burn". I really love Dan Huff and Giant. Best wishes from Spain.
According to Dan Huffs , he was using Delay , Reverb, and Distortion. That would be enough. But if you have a Pedal Board or Multieffect Tool, you can create your own Sound and when it comes to the Solo , just add a little overdrive . You should be fine.
I know there he was using an 5150 EDV Amp , Boss Delay Boss Reverb . I saw him in that Video using a Multieffect Pedalboard dont know the Brand. Guitars he is using here is by Anderson Custom Shop .
Song No 1 Jamming Backing Track.
Song No 2 Time to burn

Great and tasteful players no doubt but another realm?? Where does that leave guys like Shawn Lane, Alan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale? 😂
No one's talking about his voice...amazing too
@@mariorojas3724 Oh i agree absolutley.

3:25 Damn!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Its just a jamming song but’s sounds like an amazing hit
Yeah Man imagine this is crazy.
Mega Talented Musicians.
amazing guitarist his talent is right up there with Eric Johnson Eddie Vanhalen
Absolutley.
El riff central de Time to Burn tiene una clara "influencia" de Bienvenidos, de Miguel Ríos.... 1982
That 5150 Amp behind Dan. Wow. That must have been one of the earliest ones. I didn't think they went back that far... guess I was wrong. Early 90s.
To be honest, i was surprised as well.
But those Eddie van halen Amps are Killer to be true .
Phenomenal Sound.
Giant with Dann Huff was such an awesome Band!!!
Absolutley agreed.
Worldclass.
Love the guitar on Song No 1 Jamming Backing Track 🙏❤️👌😎
Awesome!
Yeah they were just jamming.
But unfortunatley they never brought this beautiful Song on the Album.
My favorite! I wish I could see some footage of him recording guitars for Clint Black or some 90s country artist too.

Currently listening to GIANT Shifting time. Not a bad song on it, great production, no AMAZING production.
Sounds great .
Hope you enjoy that .

4:30 Singer faces the guitarist for the solo, then realizes he's the lead guitarist. (Nod to the talent of doing both well.)
He's also featured on a couple Mariah Carey albums
This is rob rock on the vocals ?

There might be , but i dont have it .
What year is this from? 1990?
Its gotto be 1989 i think .
When they were working on the Album.
@@supernatural9r406Actually, it was 1992 -- the Peavey 5150s didn't hit the market until '92
I mean the first Guitar song
Maybe there is a remastered recording. You could ask Dan Huff on Instagram
