in the blink of an eye they fucked their cars
6:48 I love how this Land Rover has a snorkel for this exact situation, and still fails as it wasn't made water tight, it's for show only.
"I love the sound of hydrolock in the morning."
I live in the USA but one thing I appreciate about you Brits is you guys stay cool in pretty much any situation, no one freaked out or acted unnecessarily dramatic.
i think the only reason some of these people are so calm is because they have no idea how badly they've just fucked their cars, they think it's just killed the battery or something minor like one of them said
And they more than likely won’t get a payment from their insurance provider.
That's because when they get home they know they will get a cup of tea and everything will be fine 😂
@@shogunpxp Won't get home with catastrophic damage on the engine though.
@@lord_flashheart so rick your saying they will never get home then.
16:29 "do you have to wait for it to dry out" hahahahahaha
I think we need to all give Ben and the other TH-camrs, and regulars on scene a HUGE thanks not only for providing some top quality entertainment, but also the help offered to all the clowns that drive through. Wading in to rescue the driving instructor while the fireman watched on, and making sure he got out safely, the mechanical advice "You've stuffed the engine" and not least, towing out people time and time again.
Definitely, spot on!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Thankyou 🙌❤️
100%❤
Especially that driving instructor.. all criticism for his chosen profession aside, the poor dude was really distressed and the lady and gent really helped him out, especially the lady, who recognised he needed a literal helping hand 🖤
@@MajorT0m Thankyou sir that was us 💪🙌
that driving instructor.......😰
I love the way the mini driver was still trying to steer despite the fact that the car was floating 😂😂
Plate transferred to another car, red mini trashed.
At least he was counter-steering 😂
"do i wait for it to dry out?" oh that was killer loool Also thank you for the footage and helping all those people - we are car people some of this stuff is nothing , engine blows we rebuild - but some people its a massive world to them the car is everything - thanks for winching them out!!!!
I love how the guys in the vans think they're fine just because they are sitting up high 😂😂
And I don't envy them for having to answer to their bosses even though it's their own fault.
The man at 17.42 understand what to do .
Ah... The friendly people cheering! That's so wholesome! 👍
very good....but...i really miss rufford ford...the community atmosphere of everyone hoping snobby drivers fail mid way, and the universal cheer when they do fail !! ahhh happy days !
Love the sound of water trying to compress inside a piston
Cylinder
"Swimming" instructor 😅😂
TriConnex - NOT connecting on time 😂
I’m surprised how many people don’t know that the air intake pipe for the engine is located next to the radiator grille and you can’t fill it with water, in Russia even children know this.
They most certainly do not. Plenty of the same idiotic videos from Russia after freak flooding
В России этого тоже не все знают
0 to dead engine in under 15 seconds. Brilliant video dude
Just confirms what I encounter on the roads every day.
There are A LOT of stupid people driving cars.
Tim price drums or tim priced rums?
Watching from America, y’all Brit’s are hilarious! Great content 😄
Thank you! We certainly like to please 😂
The guy taking the selfie 😂😂😂
Been some great times and we’ve caught some great footage. Thanks for supporting us back Ben. Great guy on and off camera 💪
you can clearly see how people lack basic knowledge
Thats ok because most civiled countries dont offer any situations like this. i am surprised that some just try do it when they dont even know what to do. Its still possible to turn around, nobody is forced.
@@maxmustermann8167 in every driving school, they learn the basics of operating a vehicle's engine, or at least they did in the past. This illiteracy only produces stupid users
@@_fefe In most cases the older drivers seem to know how to drive in these Situations. I never had a situation like that and i have been in almost every european country by car. Honestly i would turn around and find another way. At least it would seem suspicous to me when there are people around filming others driving through the water. I would ask them whats going on and try or turn around.
I cant believe there are countries in europe still having a Ford, every car is leaking small amounts of oil it cant by good for the environment.
Yes it ist stupid to go on moving without knowing what to do and what can happen.
I know my car´s intercooler is mounted pretty low and would never even try. At least i know to handle a car full speed better than most other people on the planet, everybody has talents.
@@maxmustermann8167 No it's not ok. It shouldn't be "thought separately" that engines and especially electronics don't mix with water. Basic knowledge and common sense.
typical brits
5:21 that cyclist no doubt saying "there's another route a couple of miles that way why didn't you turn round?" 🤣
At about 0.30.....I can't believe the sheer stupidity of some people....there's 2 trucks already stranded yet the idiot in the VW thinks he'll be OK - unbelievable.
“Thinks” well no, no he doesn’t lol
A four wheel drive with street tires. This is one entertaining video. 41:31
1:12 the sound of Uncle Rodney leaving the block to get a beer.
Это просто потрясающе! Как раз что бы завершить рабочий день в пятницу)))
BEN!!! Happy St. Patrick's Day Dude!!!! WANKERS...you have a TH-cam Channel for Life!!! Prince William should hire you for the PSA Minster for Public Water Driving! Love the Lad with the Blue BMW....gives rise to Yorkshire Pudding Boys Club! Gotta love the punter in the red MiniCooper! The silver Rover is the best though...wanker without water!!!!
The best one a illegal dinghy diver pretending to be a driving instructor.🤭😂🤣😅😅😅🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
Never, never, never, never, NEVER enter flood water in a motor vehicle - especally in a van noted for its vulnerability to water ingestion.
Just know where your intake is, not that any of those intellectuals know how to open the bonnet
Les garagistes du coin sont millionnaires avec toute ces pannes😂😂😂😂😂
Those depth indicators are there for a reason.
From where did these drivers get driving license, cornflakebox?
Told the landlady of our local about the new upload (she's a big fan). She's set it on loop on the TV behind the bar - customers are currently sipping their pints, staring at the screen in amazement.
Top entertainment!!! 🍻🍺💋
Then the next day they go out and do the same anyways 😅She's a legend tho 😂
That's brilliant. Ben deserves a free pint there that's for sure ;)
korby i tłoki lubią to :D greetings from Poland!
lol the last one cracks me up. A 4x4 with street tires in the mud sucks.
It is especially funny when suv driver find out that SUV cant go offroad.
I love all of them Who thinks they made it and then the car is just.....NOPE..... 😂
I wonder how many of tyese drivers had ever looked under their bonnets and knew how high (or low) their air intakes were.
Yeah, a lot of them would have saved their engines by not going as fast..
None.
@@masterchririus6539a lot of them but not all of them. Example: mini. I own a r56. Water was well above the intake
18:55 I own one of these crapslers. You honestly have to be a vegetable to hydrolock it. The gasoline intakes are at the top of the wheel. Diesels are the same.
most couldn't idenify the air intake..
The sound effect at 20:03 😅😂😂
The thick just get even thicker.
"I'm gonna sink" LMAO
The bow wave myth lives on.
Już widzę te wszystkie auta niebawem w Polskich autokomisach 🤘
2.58 sounds like an old war plane about to crash!
That driving instructor should not be instructing anyone.
The irony is that I’ve driven my cars through water that deep. Difference is that I knew my intake wasn’t submerged, and I burbled through at 2 mph
but you are still submerging wheel bearings...
@@chaosflower4892 they are sealed. If they leak, fill up and grenade, then they needed to be replaced anyway
@@goclunker No. Sealed does not mean totally sealed.. that would be impossible.. the seals keeps most grit and grime and water out during normal driving.. but driving through floods will breach the sealing... being submerged will breach soils.. the seals will help keep out water.. and grease will displace and help seal out water because it is thicker.. but water will still ingress..
I have no idea what you mean by leak, fill up and grenade...
@@chaosflower4892 i drove through that flood in 2014. It is 2024 and I have the same wheel bearings and they are still silent with no play. Thank you for your contribution. If machinery bearing seals worked like you describe, nothing would work ever.
Perhaps you’re thinking of bicycle or rollerblade bearing seals. Idk
@@goclunker The bearings on a car are not dissimilar to those on any other item with bearings. Be it a skateboard, lathe or bicycle. With the same kind of seals. Only the size changes.. and the materials may or may not be more premium (more money = better bearings). Bearing seals help to keep water and grit out. Also the high viscosity grease used to pack out bearings resists water ingresss.. but driving through flood water will cause some water ingress. Thank you for your lack of humility.
It just goes to show how clueless these drivers are. None of them have the first clue as to where the air intake is located on the engine.
The silly woman @6:15 "I didn't realise how deep it was." Well, love, why would you drive into water not knowing how deep it is? Here's a tip, if it looks deep, it probably is!?
The surrounding workshops are always busy, it's good to know.
I would imagine that the scrap yards that also benefit…
If they can drive slowly or backward, no one can stop the journey. hahahahaha
I wonder how many engines got wrote off in these clips. Personally not being brave I always do a threepoint and find another way.
I have never encountered any floods like this luckily but I value my car too much to even attempt driving through water, so I would do the same as you 😁
It's not that you aren't brave more like not stupid.
That mini’s intake was fully submerged… it is right by the upper grill. What a muppet
the anomaly is that red Peugeot 107 we often see going through these floods again and again.. its intake is high toward the windshield.. higher than the grill...
Beamers, Audi, Toyota….all going DOWN!!
80 percent would have made it of they drove slow, all water went into th intake😂😂
Slowly approaching the water edge and then …. floor it.
So weird.
nice car Ben
Honestly, that should be included in theory test...
"what do u do when the road is flooded up to yar balls..."
10.38 that poor rs4
The black guy sitting in his car waiting to be rescued, hilarious as it’s only waist deep water😂

The guy on the motorcycle 😂 really? He thought he'd make it?
Hahaha hahahaha 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣the super van one…….not so super now 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Building bridges doesn't seem to be a viable alternative, does it?😅
Modern cars have their air intakes at the bottom of the engine (I don't know why). It makes fording practically impossible as it sucks water straight into the engine.
The people who see that much of STANDING water and decide that they can easily get through are wannaBe HERO's until the hear the splutter of the exhausts....call recovery..
😂😂😂😂

Honestly it's madness, I once turned around when I saw so much water just sitting still, my cars are Hybrid Petrol so battery is below me..I warned the car behind to turn round he didn't carried on and car stopped with white smoke gas from exhaust....

So is the amphibious vehicle market booming in the UK?
Have yet still to find a bmw that made it 😅
There are some but you’ve got to search for a while 😂
Did the car salesman tell them "Good news! Your car is also a boat!"
So they hang around waiting for people to get stuck then charge them to pull them out 😂 cleaver
7:40 He is already waiting
The game in compilation videos changes from "will they make it through?" to "will they make it through far enough to not get their feet wet?"

4-stroke petrol engines work on the Suck-Squeeze-Bang-Blow protocol. Its the _suck_ part that interests us here, the pistons' downward motion with intake valves open sucks air through the manifold into the engine to run it (mixed with petroleum vapours in the carburettor) Submerging your air intake underwater is not a good idea, the engine will suck water in the same as it does air. You're drowning your engine! a.k.a hydralocking it. Its an expensive put-right after you've putwronged it!
So the question is...Wheres your air intake? Above the waterline? Or Below it?
The thing that kills it is that water is an incompressible fluid, so it's the squeeze bit too
@@bigbazzus Yes you're absolutely right. Trying to squeeze water would bend metal components. Getting water into your cylinders is a pretty bad idea!
The craziest ones are the people who see a broken down car in the water and STILL go through.
love the A class stuck in gear and handbrake on
I had to laugh. Fireman and Crew came to rescue man stuck in his flooded car. He yells out, " Stay There ". Lol, is he taking the piss or what! Civilians come to the rescue and helped him out, he was in shock and the lady took care of him, to the awaiting rescue team, who took the awards off the lady.

Hello, I have a question. Have you ever had a driver scold you for not giving him a wave to let him know that he is going to destroy the car there? Otherwise, I've been watching your content for a long time and it's a bit like a drug for me xDD Greetings from Prague.
Glad you’re enjoying them 😉, no I’ve never had a driver scold me but there’s been some angry ones in the past, mainly at themselves for their actions or they’ll blame it on the fact that the depth gauge, a road closed sign & an audience with cameras isn’t enough warnings lol

Even the Subaru with the snorkel died! What is in that puddle?
У меня подготовленный внедорожник с гидроизоляцией и шноркелем. Я никогда и не подумаю так нырять даже в такой мелкий брод.... как можно ездить на машине и совершенно не понимать принципа её работы?

Remember folks; if there is an official sign "Road Closed" and you drive past it, your insurance is invalid!
Hier werden die Straßen schon gesperrt wenn das Wasser 10 cm hoch ist😂

It's like they have a hydro locked engine fetishist
👍
If I go through it as fast as I can, the water won't have enough time to get into my air intake....🤔
Why do people try and go fast through such deep water how dumb
The silver caravan went through the first time OK, I guess they grew a larger set of balls, and tried it again? That didn't work out for them. To make things even worse, they have a handicap sticker in the window...
10:28 So how much is a replacement Audi V8 these days anyway?
That driving instructor should be nowhere near a car let alone teaching other people he’s clearly a danger to himself and others.
30+ years ago when I went through my driving lessons, I was told if I ever have to go through deep water, go slow but keep the revs high, essentially rev the balls off the car but keep the clutch up enough to keep moving slowly. Then my instructor told me if the engine were to cut out, it's too deep 🤣 Funny thing is, I've never cut out in deep water !. Watching these people is painful.
Wow I feel bad for this fellow. Life is scary when we are not prepared for it. My sympathy goes with you all. ….Tom
24:15 stick to the city Leroy.
Why do so many people think their car is a boat? When there's deep water ahead you should realise it's best to take a detour! And especially trying to drive through the deep water with high speed is stjupid because that way you push only more water into your engine. And, as one of the people in the vidoo said, trying to start your drowned engine and to drive on will only damage your engine further.
Könnte man echt fast meinen.
Oder sind das in England die IQ Tests bei Euch? 🙂
Don't drink and dive
@10:27 that's not going to be cheap to fix
Is water not air in the engine terminal......i hope so!
