    I love you guys, Jeremy's energy is sensational. Alas, for the second time, your videographer is not dealing with his ISO settings with aplomb. The bike was either burning and the closer shots were underexposed. This otherwise excellent video looks amateurish.

    Why do US riders us CB pedals, but European riders mostly SPD?

    • @workingguy6666
      @workingguy6666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't know there was a measurable divide, but if so - it's a great question.

    • @burkeculligan4756
      @burkeculligan4756 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      CB is generally a better all around pedal (opinon i know) -- but they don't sponsor a lot of big teams, or big riders. Shimano is all over the pro teams on the road, CX, and pro mtb. I imagine there is more sponsorship dollars and equipment commitments being thrown around in Europe -- whereas in the US riders tend to choose some parts based on preference vs sponsor dollars. (or the dollars aren't high enough with certain components to beat out personal preference).

    • @workingguy6666
      @workingguy6666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Katie Compton, who is not sponsored, and is American, chooses SPD: th-cam.com/video/iZ79ac1BejQ/w-d-xo.html That's all I know ... so I bought the same pedals she uses to win on - instead of Crank Brothers - for gravel riding.

    • @EditioCastigata
      @EditioCastigata 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Weight comparisons that don't include cleats usually favorably show CB. Once you made a purchase (e. g. some eggbeaters), you'd stay with a brand. And anything SPD is easier to get in Europe. My guess.

    • @KMS2468
      @KMS2468 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shimano SPD are the more reliable system as far as I know. I personally use Time ATAC for CX they have the best mud clearance when mud is really sticky or icy.

    • @gcntech
      @gcntech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sami's using Sram Red Etap AXS which uses the left shifter to shift up the cassette, the right shifter to shift down the cassette, and both shifters at the same time to shift the front mech (if you're using one). Si goes into a bit more information here: gcn.eu/eTapAXS Thanks for watching!

      ?@@luukrutten1295 The crocket isnt really the strongest bike though, I've broken two of them. They also find a way to be flexy in all the wrong places (drivetrain) Squids are built in the US by the folks who build Ventana, its built to last, and from test riding one, stiffer in the drivetrain. The crocketts a fine bike (I still have a third) but its far from a prime cross race bike.

    • @ianiscaratti4924
      @ianiscaratti4924 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anotherjaunt2492 the Squidcross is still made from 6061 alloy and not the better 7005 or 7020 tubing. Flexy Drivetrain? Still won the SSCXWC against Squid so can't be that bad but I would love to ride both to compare them.
