At the end of the video you pierced the dishwasher cleaner with one of the tines in the rack. You don't need to do this. The cleaner has a wax like plug that will dissolve when the dishwasher gets hot enough inside. That way the cleaning solution is released at the optimum time. Great video, hope my tip helps too x

My little tip is to unstack the dishwasher from the bottom rack upwards, because then you can load any stray dishes and mugs that have accumulated overnight as you go (there are no clean dishes underneath for drips to land on). Also I put my dish brushes (not sponges) into the dishwasher to disinfect them overnight too. I rinse them with boiling water before I put them back ready for use in the morning.

I have a IKEA highchair, the one everyone has, and when you take the legs off - that can go in the dishwasher. I try to do this every week or so, to give it a good deep clean.

I do the same, put my dishwasher on every night that way during the day the 'dirtys' have somewhere to go. Things I use my dishwasher for are toothbrush holders and soap dishes, kitchen sponges and brushes, removable glass light shades, extractor filter, desk tidy pen pots from my office, Hob racks, glass/ceramic drinks Coasters, sink tidy container..to name a few. Great video Emily ☺️ thank you

I pop in the scrubbing brush after I'm done rinsing the dishes (yes, I'm in the dish rinsing team ✋😂). It gets rid of the red sauce colour and smell on the brush if you've used it after cooking a ragu you'll know the pain 😅

    Great tips.
One tip I have is to open the dishwasher door when it’s finished. I find that when I do this that the stuff takes less time to dry off. (I use plastic dishes etc)
I’m one of those who rinses my bowls etc before I put them in the dishwasher, mainly because I live on my own & don’t have enough stuff to put it on every day.
My dishwasher came with a cutlery basket with a top/lid to organise it. I accidentally threw it away & one Christmas my sister-in-law gave me hers, all wrapped up.😀
Please do some more hack videos. They’re my favourites.

Hey Emily, hope you are all doing well good evening love this 10 life changing dishwasher hacks and tips video. These dishwasher tips will help me to organise my dishwasher nicely so everything can be clean and tidy in the dishwasher in the kitchen. The dishwasher will be so helpful to me and life sever because you don’t you have wash everything like dishes bowls cutlery in the sink all the time and you don’t have waste all of your time washing up. So the dishwasher is a handy piece of equipment to clean all of the kitchen supplies in one massive go instead of washing parts of the kitchen supplies in small chunks in my kitchen. I love using the dishwasher so much because it makes such a difference instead of washing up everything in the sink of the kitchen. When you are loading everything in the dishwasher you can always clean your kitchen and listen to music at the same time. The dishwasher makes one more difference when you finish up loading everything in the dishwasher you can be clean the rest of your kitchen at home. There is no way I would wash something that has dirt or dust or anything that is not food related in my dishwasher. Reason being is when a dishwasher drains the water out of an ending cycle before the heat comes on, some water is left in your drain pipe and the next time you turn your dish washer on, it spreads that water back onto your dishes. You may be betting dirt or etc on your dishes.
But the hacks for cleaning and checking filters is a good one. I do it often. Once a week I will just run a cycle to clean it with nothing in there.

You’re going to love me after you read my comment/advise. I always put dishwasher powder/liquid not just inside the sealed lockable compartment, but most importantly also outside of it. Logically answer yourself this question, when is the detergent required the most, when the dishes are the dirtiest at the beginning of cycle or halfway through when they are already partially rinsed by just pure water? The answer is Off course when very dirty at the beginning. So I always split my dishwasher powder between sealed compartment and outside, effectively it gives your dishes a prewash. Most dishwasher actually have designated space for this reason, sometimes uncovered, sometimes under the the main flap slotted section. Frankly my “half “ of powder outside is alway bigger then locked “half”. It also has another benefit apart from cleaning your dishes better, it keeps your dishwasher’s drainage pipes clean, that’s because all this greasy stuff from initial wash is dissolved by the powder you’ve put outside of locked compartment and does not stick to the drainage. For this reason I have never ever used any of those heavily advertised “dishwasher cleaners”. You will notice it yourself when cleaning the filter (still have do it regularly, it’s compulsory), it won’t have this whitish gluey coat that is hard to remove. After 20 years of service I have replaced my old dishwasher with new one and guess what? The drainage pipe was so clean that I have not changed, just reconnected it to new machine.
Another tip, when you’re installing your dishwasher, connect it to hot water supply pipe instead of cold.
Don’t bother with all in one tablets or pods, always use dedicated powder/liquid and separate rinse aid. By the way rinse aid really makes the difference ton achieve spotless dry dishes.
    P.S. obviously I am a dishwasher freak.

@@SombiliUketui I just put half cup in bottom of dishwasher and a bit in dispenser and do hot cycle. I use a tablespoon of soda crystals in my washing machine. Keeps limescale away and also acts as an antibac for clothes.

Love your channel Emily! I have been putting in diluted vinegar (half vinegar and half water) in place of the rinse-aid for about 2-3 years now. My dishwasher seems fine so far and the steel utensils just sparkle. But also, my dishwasher is 10+ years old, so I don't mind experimenting. 😀

By the way, you're not supposed to force the dishwasher cleaner onto a tine like you did, it's supposed to sit like a plate would, between the tines. That way the wax dissolves at the right time in the wash - the way you did it would make the liquid run out in the preliminary rinse.

    • @mrsemilynorris
      @mrsemilynorris  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Haha Amy. It's pretty straight forward. Salts go in the compartment at the bottom (a lot of machines tell you when it's empty), rinse aid goes in a compartment on the inside of the door, and put a dishwasher cleaner on an empty cycle every couple of months. Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
